  • This is a virtual driving tour for those who are thinking about moving to Gilbert Arizona. I show you some of the neighborhoods in Gilbert towards the end of the video. I also walk through downtown Gilbert and drive around some of the surface streets and explore the shopping areas around Costco. I was not able to figure out the Park and Ride in Gilbert.
    Living in Arizona is quite a unique experience because of the vastness that the state offers. From the Sonoran Desert in the south to the high country in the north all the way up towards the Four Corners east and the Grand Canyon in the west. Known as the Grand Canyon state, Arizona is diverse in many ways. The state tree is the Palo Verde, the state cactus is the Saguaro, the state bird is the Cactus wren. If you are thinking about moving to Arizona feel free to subscribe and check us out on our other channels.

    I live in Gilbert behind where they are building the new Alamo Drafthouse Cinema next to the Walmart on Power and Ray. I bought a house a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath for $199,999 back in 2015. You can't find that anymore for that price. I love Gilbert a up and coming town that is safe and have good schools. I'll be here for the rest of my life.

    I lived in the Islands for about 6 years and then moved to San Tan Ranch in Gilbert. I moved from there to Colorado and I'm so ready to return to AZ. San Tan Ranch is very pretty and I loved my new house there. Thanks for this tour. Gilbert is one of the very best places to live.

    Lived in Gilbert for almost a year - would have loved to have stayed but it just didn't work out. That was several years ago - a beautiful place! I loved it and was fortunate to be in a good community. Lived on Cantebria Drive. Very nice and safe community there. Drove back and forth to Mesa daily because my son worked at a Mexican restaurant there. We shopped in Chandler a few times because it was like 5 miles up the road from where I was at - until there was a shooting at the Wal-Mart that we were at - happened a couple minutes after we left the store 😬
    Also went to Queen Creek a couple times to check it out as well. But we spent most of our time in Gilbert and Mesa.
    The vid brings back memories! Surprised you didnt go by the Hot Air Balloon place - we liked watching them! Thanks for the vid!

    Thanks for such all the detailed information and videos your produce! I've been following recently and watching several of them! I appreciate your knowledge since you seem to have lived in many places across the US, even abroad. Could you compare Arizona (Phoenix/Tucson) and Nevada mainly Las Vegas and its suburbs like Henderson, Summerline etc. Alot of similarities, both deserts, both lots of economic growth, etc. but to your best of your knowledge. I'd really appreciate it! By the way love your garden in your backyard!

    When I first moved to Gilbert from New York and living in Scottsdale for a few months, about 19 years ago, the Loop 202 didn't exist, and pretty much everything between Williams Field Rd and Riggs Rd was untouched desert, It's crazy how fast things have changed.

Would you be able to tour 7180 Optima Kierland condo’s? I’m truly excited about this as it’s close enough to MX that I can make a decision. I’ll be in Scottsdale the 2nd week of April. I’ve lived in Gilbert for the last 18 years and love it. Moved here from Chandler just next door. Chandler and Gilbert very similar in many ways but you’ll find everything in Gilbert is about 10 years newer. There’s no major manufacturing in Gilbert, some professional service businesses though. Gilbert is mostly a bedroom community. Chandler has some major manufacturing like Intel and Microsoft along with a large aircraft parts builder. Downtown Gilbert is a foodie paradise. That might can change after this COVID stuff. They’re expecting 25% of the restaurant’s in AZ to close by years end. Homes prices start around mid 200’s in Gilbert along with Chandler. Most average subdivision homes run between $175sqft to $200sqft. Brand new homes in the hot areas closer to $250sqft. Not a lot of culture in Gilbert, it was basically a hay and cotton down decades ago. If you like and own horses, lots of nice horse properties here.

    My husband and I are looking to maybe moving there but dang the rent is kinda high 😳. You seem to make more money there or have more job opportunities so that might be the difference! Where I’m at our housing market is sky rocketing because lots of Californians/ investors are moving here and they can almost buy a house outright. Our cost of living here are out growing our wages 😞

    Overall how is the road quality in the Phoenix metro? Coming from a cold weather state like Ohio whose roads are marred by potholes from ice, snow and snow plows, I'm hoping for better roads when I move out there next summer.

    Differences between Gilbert and Chandler? If you were gonna move to 1 which 1 would you prefer?

    • @LivinginArizona
      @LivinginArizona  5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Very comparable. They are neighbor cities. Gilbert is a bit newer. So it learned from some of the mistakes made in Chandler. Chandler is closer to Phoenix. Gilbert is a little bit less crowded and you feel a bit more "out of the hustle and bustle" while still being connected.

    Jeff, I'm from south California and currently am living in kona. What part of arizona would be a good fit for a 29 year old single guy? I'm not a fan of big cities but like a small to medium town with enough nightlife? Thinking about leaving Hawaii in a couple of months. Too expensive and too transient for my taste. Doesn't have much to offer outside of nature. I'm also Asian, would prefer to live somewhere culturally and ethnically diverse. Not sure if I can find the in az?

    • @danielr3661

      Hey, California it's not all bad, cities like La Jolla, Newport Beach and Pasadena are maybe even prettier than Gilbert, don't get me wrong, liberals are messing up a few things in the state, but it is still the richest state and it is maybe the most beautiful state in the nation.

    • @BasedArizonan
      @BasedArizonan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel R it may be one of the most beautiful states, and some places may be prettier then Gilbert (though I doubt it), the costs for living in those places are to high, and the cost for gas, and the amount of pollution

    While you signaled your turns, it appears you made "California (rolling) stops." Can you generally get away with that in AZ, or were you just lucky? I was raised in Chicago metro, where the cops would grab you in a second for that, or for making a U-turn.
