    Shout spray (the kind you spray on your clothes) works AMAZINGLY on walls & painted woodwork!
    I was disgusted one day about the color of the trim in my room & was trying to find something to clean it. So I used the Shout out of desperation & to my surprise it worked better than anything thing else I tried! It really broke through the stickiness along with bringing back the actual color of the trim! (What a difference that was!)

    I bought a home were the previous owner use to smoke.
    And she also kept her pets in a room
    That was terribly smelly.
    I have been cleaning the walls with a vinegar based product.
    The floors also.
    The first day of cleaning , the odor was gone.
    But then it returned probably 50% of it.
    I am washing the walls and ceiling again, I hired an air condición and air duct cleaning company , they will arrive soon.
    I took the Kilz advice from your video
    I just bought the product.
    After my second wall washing I am gonna apply it.
    I am planing to vist the attic of the house to see what I can do.
    And then I hope the cleaner air conditioning will work.
    I am at half in odor, if I can get to 80% less odor, I can get rid of the other 20% with a little time when I move in.
    Thanks for your video.
    Wish me luck

      I believe an ozone box would be perfect for you. Get the 1000 BTU it runs about 100ish dollars. It will pull the smoke off the surfaces. Dust 1st it pulls dust off unfortunately dust will get in the motor and slow it down. Best investment ever.

    If you’re repainting to cover up ANY smells, including cigarette smoke, make sure you’re using an OIL BASED PRIMER! An oil based primer will seal away the odors where a water based primer will not, not as well. You can use an oil based primer over the top of latex paint just fine. Also, TSP (trisodium phosphate) will help to cut through the greasy residue left by the cigarette smoke if the vinegar or ammonia are not doing enough. You can even mix the TSP with some water and vinegar.

    • @imthebossofme63
      @imthebossofme63  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not personally experienced with Ozium, but did a quick search and from what I found, it is supposed to be an air sanitizer as well as hard and soft surfaces. I recently used Uber and my driver was very diligent in keeping her car safe. We had a conversation about the precautions she took. She was using Ozium. I really can't say how well it works regarding smoke, but other issues (covid) I think it is a good product. I would try it for that reason alone. Thank you for your question!

    We live in a duplex and my neighbor next door are smokers and smoke in their house. We smell it all over our house and our clothes. We never smoke and we smell it all the time. I tried everything to get rid of smoke smell. I became OCD because of them!

    • @imthebossofme63
      @imthebossofme63  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sorry to hear this. Without actually seeing your house, I can’t be 100% sure how it’s built, but there should be a fire wall between the two units. This is a special type of drywall that burns slower. What I’m thinking is that there might be cracks around the edges where the smoke is getting in. That might explain why your clothes are smelling, especially if your closets are against the shared wall. My other thought is that if they are really heavy smokers or many people smoking, that the smoke might see seating through the from one side to the other. I was working in a duplex once and could small the neighbors smoking weed. It’s a tough situation.

    I have a popcorn ceiling in my apartment. Can that be cleaned? I am also having difficulty cleaning it off (nicotine) the stained doors and furniture. What is the best way to clean nicotine off and draw out the smell from stained wood?

    • @imthebossofme63
      @imthebossofme63  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally don't like textured ceilings because they are hard to clean and repair if they become damaged. You might try spray painting it with kilz. Wood is porous and absorbs moisture. You might be able to get the smell out of furniture if you wash it down and let it dry in the sun. UV light has disinfectant effects.

    I have a chain-smoker living beneath me. All those good suggestions, I used, except for the Amonia. Vinegar to wash my linens, curtains, bath towels, kitchen, anything that was washable. I had the house indoor painted with 3 coats of paint. The cabinets cleaned, the floor, the doors anything that reeked of the stench of the cigarette smoke. My clothes, cleaner (for awhile to got to expensive). I know if I sell my home, I'll lose about 30 percent value due to this person who is a chain-smoker below me. If it wasn't for Covid-19, and had more cash on hand, I would have loved get my attorney and have gotten a court order against the person and have them smoke all they want in their vehicles with their windows shut. After 9 yrs and spending quite a few thousand dollars, including air purifiers (expense ones), I had it up to here, and am hoping I can sell my condo. I did all I could. I know I will lose 30 percent of my $$.

    Do you have any suggestions for getting rid of the smell of cigarette smoke and mold from furniture? I sprayed the couch with Lysol but it only seemed to temporarily mask the odor. Spraying the couch with a mixture of bleach and water didn't help much either. I guess my only real solution is to buy a new couch. It's a shame though because the couch is in very good shape but it wreaks of cigarette smoke and mold.

      dmarcus1260 try using carpet freshener. I did this on a mattress that reeked of urine and it worked. Make sure you let it set for a while to absorb the odors. I would be generous with the powder and make sure you get under the cushions too. Then vacuum off. Let me know how it works! Good luck! ✌️

      How,Come EdHcJrBellaRalphy it might help a little if the walls are stained, but I don’t think it will be as effective as other products. It may also help with washable fabrics such as curtains. Be sure to check for colorfastness first.
      You say you have a gallon. Is this the type of peroxide used in beauty salons? I ask because there are different strengths of peroxide. For example, 10 volume peroxide is as strong as medicinal peroxide. 20 or 40 volume is stronger and the oxidation would be higher.

      Cleaning textured ceilings is a challenge. You can use Kilz primer. If you have a small ceiling, it comes in a spay can. If it's a large ceiling or your whole house, you can buy the gallons and use a paint sprayer.

    Ok so i am a single parent of a 13 year old girl. Weve always lived alone. I smoke but i do it in my room or outside. Her room is on the other side of the house. Im a light smoker so the smell never got bad i dont keep ashtrays and light candles and she was cool with that. Now my dad has moved in and hes in bad health and cant walk. He smokes like five packs a day in my living room. He is hooled up to ivs so he cant go outside. Now my daughter is being picked on at school for smelling like smoke. Is there anything i can do to keep her room from smelling like smoke?

      Jeremy Sartin my heart goes out to you. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Honestly, the smoke smell is probably circulating through the house through the heating and air conditioning. You can try changing the filters to help reduce the odor in other parts of the house. On a positive note, you daughter is getting positive reinforcement from her peers to not start smoking.
      There are things she can do to her reduce the smell on her person. If she is not doing her laundry, she’s at the age where she can start. Her clothes go from her room to the washer and go right back to her room. She folds them and puts them away without them sitting in a basket in the main part of the house where they can be exposed to the smell. Her coat, book bag etc needs to go straight to her room. Dropping them on the sofa when she comes in will make them smell. She can also shower in the morning before school. This will limit the amount of cigarette smell she picks up before she goes to school.
      Let her know that you are proud of her for recognizing how nasty cigarettes are and help her get through this time while you are caring for her grandfather. She might feel like she has more control over her situation.
      Let me know what she thinks about this. Best wishes to all of you! 💕

      Jeremy Sartin i relate to this. Im being forced to move to my dads whos a very heavy smoker and will only smoke inside. The whole house smells like smoke and i also got picked on. Im watching this video to figure put how i can keep my bedroom clean and smoke free. I hate it so much it makes me feel miserable and i can feel my lungs getting weaker. If you found anything that worked well for your daughter please share! I need advice

      Jeremy Sartin clean the walls of your home with a vinegar base cleaner, once a week.
      Tell your dad to smoke outside.
      Close your room door while you are not there
      Try to guard your clothes in some way, maybe store them in a plastic bag,

      @@4448-e2r If your Dad has paid for his home by the sweat of his brow, and is kind enough to let you move in, you might just have to suck it up (literally) until you can get your own place and show some gratitude in the meantime.

      Actually, smokers don’t really smell smoke how bad it is. Most of my customers have either moved into a house that was previously inhabited by a smoker or property owners who’s tenants smoked inside the property. And sadly, there are some smokers who are inconsiderate of other people’s property. That’s why I made this video.

    I heard that sugar soap is good. Have you tried that?

    • @imthebossofme63
      @imthebossofme63  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don’t have actual real sugar soap in the US. I used to watch a British cleaning show and those ladies used it a lot, probably because they were cleaning some really nasty houses. I wonder if there would be a customs issue if I ordered it. There are a lot of chemicals that are banned here if they are dangerous for the environment.

    I’m a minor who smokes. My mom hates smoking so i have to do it when i will be gone for a while and during school break hours. This will definitely help me hide if instead of me having to hide in the woods even when there is snow

      NotYourNewfieAvrage Sweetheart, you know I have to tell you that smoking is not good for you. Your mom doesn’t want you to smoke because she loves you and wants you to be healthy. Peace! ✌️

      Hun please stop smoking. This year I seen my mom go into respiratory failure not once..but TWICE. The first time I couldn't go see her due to covid restrictions. This time I saw her on a ventilator and a CPAP machine to assist her breathing. I tell ya what that really made me think, "If I don't quit now, I'm gonna be next." I haven't smoked a cigarette in over a month. My mom is very lucky she made it outta the hospital this time around. She has also quit smoking and she's doing alot better.
