Invisible Circles
Invisible Circles es el tercer álbum de estudio de la banda holandesa de metal sinfónico, After Forever, salió el 25 de marzo del 2004 bajo el sello discográfico Transmission Records.
Tras la marcha de Mark Jansen (ahora guitarrista de Epica), uno de los principales compositores, el grupo tuvo un fuerte cambio tanto en su música como las letras de las canciones. Aunque con un sonido más progresivo y menos adornado, el disco continuó siendo un muy buen trabajo dentro de la discografía del grupo. Trata sobre la vida de una niña, de como es despreciada e incomprendida por sus padres y su entorno. Una temática bastante original, y fuera de lo normal si lo comparamos con el tipo de letras que se hace en este estilo. Naturalmente, es un álbum conceptual.

This was the first AF song I ever heard. I still remember first hearing operatic vocals in the beginning of the song and thinking, another operatic singer. Cool. Then 1:39 part drops... omg. It was when I knew that this is not your ordinary vocalist.

Holy crud this album was 13 years ago. Still one of the best symphonic metal albums of all time - it has the dark music like Epica's Requiem for the Indifferent without the political lyrics. I'd even be tempted to say the best if it weren't for the cheesy spoken word parts. It sticks together unlike a lot of albums and every song had something to offer. Also Floor is a much better live singer than most other SM female vocalists.
15 years now. Still one of my favorite AF albums!

My go to song when I'm dealing with some anger. The purest expression of sophisticated angst and hatred I've ever heard in music. It understands so well the thoughts and emotions that come from living with a toxic person for a long time.

@@DouweBuruma Anneke was really influential, but musically there was Orphanage (pretty much the fist Dutch symphonic metal band) and Theatre of Tragedy doing symphonic, heavy music with male and soprano vocalists way before The Gathering first had her.

@@DouweBuruma Indeed, Anneke influenced a whole generation of singers. But most people don't know about Orphanage, for instance, which was as popular as The Gathering back in the mid 90s Netherlands. In my opinion Orphanage is the blueprint for bands like After Forever and Within Temptation, although like we both said Anneke really influenced all women back then. And also Liv Kristine and Kari Reuslatten.

Amigos seguidores del canal... lamento comunicarles que por un tiempo muy largo no voy a compartir videos en TH-cam, debido a reiteradas denuncias por derechos de autor, el canal ha recibido 2 strikes y se encuentra al borde de que lo cierren, no quiero perder el canal, ya que he dedicado mucho tiempo en confeccionar listas de reproducción y mucho más tiempo en remasterizar de forma totalmente amateur, viejos videos (en la mayoría de los casos de baja calidad), con el solo objeto de promocionar a las bandas que sigo desde siempre, tratando de ofrecer material sobre ellas acorde con las normas de TV en HD que hay actualmente, lo siento pero es la única solución para no perder el canal. Because Tuomas and Marco also got solo projects. If every band member demanded they play their solo stuff or songs from their previous bands the situation would get out of control.
Playing songs from other bands doesn't make sense at all. Nightwish already has more than +100 songs of their own to play live. And they have released new albums with Floor. They are already leaving out of the live performances some absolutely great Nightwish old songs, otherwise every concert should be 5 hours long. Marko, Tuomas and Emppu also have side projects, and Kai also is in Wintersun, why songs fom Floor had to be different?. She's doing live solo concerts where she sings After Forever, ReVamp and Northward songs, and that's how it should be.

@@loretta4k334 true but Mayan is a side-project band of sorts and I guess Marc Jansen enjoys singing old AF songs as he can't do that with Epica. Great respect to Marcela Bovio though, she sings "Pledge of Allegiance" almost as good as Floor and that song is insanely hard.

I really do like After Forever. Too bad they disbanded. Beautiful Emptiness is one of my favourites by them. Especially live.
