Andy...I have seen the video of you climbing the Duomo three times. Question...I can see from some photos that there is a terrace on the outside of the church where people can go outside and take photos. Do you know if this terrace is accessible on both sides of the church? I only see people walking on the terrace on the side of the bell tower. Thank you so much! I do think the scaffolding is going to be there when I arrive. Jaime
@@AndysAwesomeAdventures Hi! Sorry to bother you but can I just climb the Duomo? Not to purchase any other tickets with it? I can't seems find any tickets just for that available. Google says it's 15 euros but all I can find is 55 pounds tickets.
I'm not sure, but here is the link to the official Duomo website: duomo.firenze.it/en/home I would also suggest checking out a third-party ticket agency like Viator and see what they offer.
Thank you for the informative video! Even though watching it scared me, I still completed the climb yesterday. I even climbed the slightly shorter Campanile the next morning.
Thanks for sharing this! Now I don’t have to do it myself. 😅😂 I don’t mind the heights or climbing, but the claustrophobia plus the climb seems like more than I care for. The view looks great though! And great video! 😊🙌🏾
Hi there. Thank you so much for your video. I want to go to Italy so so much but as of now I am not able to ( I want to add yet, for I still have hope...) . I am not sure I would be able to go up because of my health and age, but even though I am claustrophobic and scared of heights ( although my dream superpower would be flying ) I would love to try. I am in love with Italy's countryside and any water related places ( seashore, lakes ) more than the big cities, but I'd probably would like to visit a few tourist major places too. Do you have videos of countryside and lakes adventures? I'd like to watch those too. Thanks!
Hi Claudia-you MUST go to Italy-don't let any obstacles get in your way. It's a trip you will never forget! Here is my playlist with all of my Italy videos. Scroll down and you'll see Sorrento, Capri, Amalfi Coast, Vernazza, and Tuscany vineyards. Thanks! th-cam.com/video/sJR8qHZwbyI/w-d-xo.html
I'm claustrophobic, too, and don't like heights, but given the fantastic view you get at the top, I overcame my claustrophobia. I guess it depends on your degree of claustrophobia.
Yes, thank you for this video. I loved all the details. I was able to see. Beautiful building. I am not claustrophobic, but I am not good with heights. We really liked your video and felt great watching and just going and seeing from the ground.
This video is so good!! This video brought back my memories with Florence year 2017💖💖 It is so pleasing to think that I actually been there specifically in those stairs and the dome 😭
Great that it brings back memories of one of the greatest cities of the world. Florence has so much great history and architecture. Glad you got to see it in person.
Lovely video Andy. I have one question if you can help. If I buy skip the line ticket to enter inside the Cathedral Duomo then do I need separate ticket to climb all the way up to the terrace and I need to stand in line to go up?
Thank you for your comment. When you go on the Duomo website (museumflorence.com) and buy your ticket for the Duomo, museum, Baptistery, etc. it will ask you for a specific time you want to climb the dome. Once you purchase the tickets, I believe you print out a separate ticket for the dome. They usually let 100 people into the cathedral to climb the dome every 15 or 30 minutes, so there will be a line to climb the dome but it's only people with tickets. If you get there early enough, you could be one of the first to be in line out of those who have the same entrance time as you. I hope that helps.
Thanks-I've used a Sony HD camcorder (1080p but I forgot the model number) that is about 5-6 years old but starting with my upcoming India videos, you'll see those in 4K with my Sony AX-53 Camcorder.
Can you tell me how long the whole climb took? I have a fear of heights and I’ve abandoned other church tower climbs, and 400+ steps would be the tallest I’d attempt. Trying to decide if I should shell out for the tickets even if I end up abandoning it part way.
It's been a while, so I don't remember exactly, but from what I've read, it could take 30-45 minutes to get to the top. Some say it takes and hour to go up, see the view, and go down.
If I remember correctly, there are no places to sit, but sometimes there are places where you can stop and move a little to the side so you don't block others. I probably stopped a few times for a few seconds each to catch my breath. You can go at your own pace-don't worry about other people.
Hi Andy. Old out of shape gal hoping to climb the Duomo and the Bell tower in July. Climbing the 9 floors at work (about 150 stairs) to train! How many “rest stations” are there and about how far apart? Every 100 stairs perhaps?
Hello! Thank you for the video! Do you know if I'm supposed to buy a separate ticket for the Terraces or is the one for the Brunelleschi's Dome enough for both? I can't find the information anywhere.
Sorry, we didn't walk on the Terraces from what I recall, so I don't know. Try this website (duomo-firenze-it.translate.goog/en/home/?_x_tr_sl=it&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=sc) and see if they have the information you need.
100 people every 15 minutes? There didn't seem to be that many that 1) were at the top with you 2) you passed on the way down Also - do they "force" you to leave the top (after 10-15 minutes) or can people stay as long as they like? Thanks
It may have been 100 every 30 minutes but keep in mind that the line is spread out throughout the dome. By the time we got to the top, I'm sure some were on their way down already. Yes, you can stay up top for as long as you like. Thanks for watching!
People climb down on the same stairs or they have a separate exit? It feels quite narrow and it would be worse if people meet halfway and try to squeeze themselves on those narrow stairs
Definitely not doing this. :/ It reminds me of when i went inside Giza pyramid. I was worried i would get anxious but since it took less than 10 minutes it was alright. This looks like a lot more time and increases the possibility of panicking
How long did it take for you climb up to the top? 20min?? Pls let me know because im budgeting my time for my short trip to Florence next month. Thanks!
@@Leumasleumas725 Hi. I'm going there next week and I can't seems to find any tickets only for climbing Dome :( Do you have to purchase everything with visiting museum or is it possible to purchase online Duomo climb?

Yes! Yes! I can now see that it is accessible! This saves me from climbing both the tower and the Duomo...there are alot of steps!
Yes, we climbed the Brunelleschi Dome but not the Giotto Bell Tower. If we had climbed the Bell Tower, we would have had a great view of the Duomo.
