- This is how it SHOULD be played..
Edit after a year or so:
Haha, wow guys. I find it really ironic, that I only uploaded this video, to show someone up... Now that I've grown up a bit in music, I dont "regret" the decision, but I recognize it was very foolish of me.
I personally do now know where the recording is from, or who did it. Most likely, its a recording from a "clinic" band.
A Clinic being, they invite lots of good bands from around the nations, and people listen/learn. An all day/all weekend type thing. Lots of fun.
This also could've been done by the North Texas Wind Symphony.
They have an album, with lots of songs, that band directors play to their band to give the kids an idea of how the song sounds.
Enjoy!
EDIT: Wow, 10,000 views... How crazy is that? I posted this video what, three years ago, and its finally hit 10,000 views...
We played this song in middle school, 8th grade, and it was due to this song that I am still in Band today. Truly, the experience that I got playing this song was nothing that I can describe, and something that I will never forget.
If you're in middle school, and you can't decide to try high-school band or not, let this be your decision maker. Music is one of the few things in life that will really matter... Why?
Because the people you meet, and the experiences you have, when it comes to music, is something that nothing else will ever give you.
Thanks a ton TH-cam. Its been a good 10,000 views.

MY MOST VIEWED VIDEO. And it only came from me wanting to show-up another persons recording. To all of you who've viewed this from me, know this:
Novo Lenio was the song that originally inspired me to stay in band through high school. And then from high school I was inspired to try out for college.
And then I made it into the University of Florida on a Saxophone Performance scholarship. I made it into the Jazz Band my freshman semester.
To those of you who read this now: YOU CAN DO ANYTHING! Dream big. Inspire others. Share your passion. I believe in you.
Check out some of my other videos. I'm really starting to play more sax and there will be more to come.
thanks

I'll just keep updating. Beautiful full circles of time are in this video and this music.
I'm now about 1/2 way through my Music Education major and I'm planning on being a music teacher. I've started my own streaming channel here on TH-cam/Twitch/Facebook and I'll be doing livestreams of Jazz and other music as well.
Thanks for all the support. Enjoy.

Enjoy the video and thanks for sticking around! 3/21/2021 - เพลง
best song made me tear up on my last highschool spring concert 😫😫😫😫
Everybody talks about the brass and the percussion on this piece, but nobody acknowledges that the clarinets drive the middle section and add the lilting, nostalgic tone to the beginning and the end :)
Man, what an awesome piece. I'm glad I played this in high school.
Breath mark: *exists*
Triangle: DING
played this
TROMBONE player
LOVE measure 57 :)
+Panzer - four I know right! Although I'm a Bari Sax Player
I'm with yah
Panzer - four I’m a tuba player, I love that part too
That’s the cool part that starts on g right?
Just played this at a concert 2 days ago. This music really changed my life and rekindled my interest in Music after it started to dwindle, and has helped me remember old times spent with my Stepfather before he died when his cottage exploded.
oh
😳
Not to be insensitive but this kinda reminded me of the Martin Cabello meme about his brother Josh
tbh nobody asked
@@loxthelord tbh nobody asked for u to reply 😹
When you mention measure 57 too a low bras player they know exactly what you are reffering too
HAHA YESSSSS
Anthony Moccia amen brother
Anthony Moccia bassoon too

Yep
Meredith, every time I hear this song I remember you. I miss you. I hope you're doing well, my very dear friend.
the lower instrumental sections (ie tuba, baritone horn, baritone saxophone, bass clarinet, and trombone, and a few i forgot) have the best parts ever
Played this six years ago in high school. French horn. Man, this brings back some memories. My band director is retired now...I'll never forget how I felt playing this after he told us the story behind the song.

Played this in my freshman year for cpa, as a clarinet player this piece really made me love my instrument 💜
let's just appreciate how much the bassoon is acknowledged in this amazing song 😂👏
first chair flute. spring '09
Marvelous!!!! Such a beautiful song. Played it in concert band last year in ninth grade
played this in band today wanted to listen to it again, its a beautiful song!
We play this every year for our spring concert for the seniors. This is their last song they play, and it's one of the most emotional pieces yet. I know someday I will play this for my final song, and that just makes it even more binding. Novo Lenio, by far, is my favorite band song.
Only a few more weeks until I play this song for the final time, thus ending my eight years of band.
@@eravaash did you cry?
@@SpookyBeast1917
I wouldnt say I cried, but I did for sure feel an overwhelming sense of emptiness yet aswell satisfaction.
Needless to say, I miss band alot haha.
I played Timpani for this song during the South Suburban Conference and I fell in love with this song. And the coolest thing was where the timpanis were placed on the stage made me feel like the spotlight catcher when the drums came in.
i love this song haha
idk why
im playing it
im playing bells
and
i love it
=D
Played this my sophomore year in high school, is one of the best songs I've played in my high school career.
We play this song every year in our high school band. I'm a sophomore but last year I played it on first clarinet, absolutely amazing. This year I play bass clarinet. There are few things in this world more beautiful than this piece.
1st chair Trombone! One of my absolute favorite pieces of all time!!
French Horn, played Spring of 2016
you guys know this song was deicated to the high school kids at the colobine shooting where rachel scott died.
Received this piece yesterday. I'm the only mallet player in our band and I'm juggling the three parts. LIKE A BOSS.
this deserves more views honestly
this is really well played. i love the song. we are playing it and i cant get enough of.
This song is beautiful. Easily one of my favourites
I played this my sophomore year in high school and then it later became our senior choice song, which we played at our very last concert. That was about 4 1/2 years ago. Though I'm done with high school I still look back fondly on this song, attached with many good memories about our band...
Absolute Perfection. I loved it.
awesome recording. :]
good job!
love the song.
Thanks for uploading this, it helped me learn how to play it for festival in my school.
Just played this song tonight at the Northeast Missouri All-District Band concert... it truly was a great experience. If I could play this kind of music all the time I would. Not even one doubt.

That story/journey in the description is just as beautiful and well written as this piece. I'm glad I found this piece and read the description box. (Even tho I'm from Tallahassee and I'm a DIE HARD FSU FAN and you mentioned you went to UF I'll just try to ignore that little tidbit.)
🤧😂✊🏿🙏🏿🎼💯
Mad respect! FSU has an incredible music program. I enjoyed many a concert there!
Getting ready to play this in a few more rehearsals can't wait
I love this song! I play the tenor in that class, but I play alto and Bari as well, and this is one of the few pieces where you get to play the melody.
Played this freshman year and I loved it so much. Definitely one of my all time favorite pieces that my band has played
I played it in a concert this very night. It's my freshman and I'm just jamming to this song
This is such a beautiful piece. I play French Horn and we all looked at each other after playing this once and were like...'wow' It is simple, but lovely. The kids in the Orchestra said that they thought it was amazing(their room is right next to the aud where we play)
Amazing
Great piece :]
Love this song. My School is playing this at our spring concert/100th anniversary of the school
Hazo is a God. I have played at least one song from him each year for the last four years. You haut can't avoid his talent and grace.
My favorite one is Ride!
i played this song in my highschool. Im a euphonium player, and all i can say is that it was the most fun i've had playing a song.
I was timpani during this song when I played it. God it brought a tear to my eye when I read the drum solos. I love that Hazo writes awesome parts for percussion. Just wished my band teacher whipped out more of his music to play but my darn concert band thought he was too tough of a composer to play his stuff. Bologna, his music is awesome! I met him too :-D
Im doing the timpani part this year, and it’s so much fun
i love the timpani part on this song it’s so fun to learn
We're playing this in our uper school band concert TONIGHT and although it's not as challenging a piece to play as i like, it's beautiful.
This is a great song. 10/10!
Played this yesterday in an all district band. AMAZING!!
DUDE!!! I can't wait for my February concert. We get to play this song, and pretty soon the Trumpet section (my section) gets the trash/ plastic storage bins to play!!!! This is so gonna kick ass...
Love how the creater keeps updating this video 🤣living the dream
This piece of music is truly inspiring and amazing. Once I found out the true meaning of this piece, it made me feel more..."attached" to this song. I played 3rd trumpet for this at a high school concert. It, hands down, has to be my favorite piece of my freshmen year.
This song was modeled off of our schools alma mater, and our signature marching band song
We all should take like a sec to look at this guys name. Idk why but i died
Just played this today 😌
I love this, playing this in marching band😄
awesome song our concert is on friday and we are playing this piece AWESOME song 5 stars
I'm playing this song on piccolo for the upcoming concert. I love it!
I played this in the 8th grade with the middle school 3 years ago. I miss it so much
i love novo lenio! I got goosebumps! As torrents in summer rockks 2!
our band is playing this song this year and is using it as part of our audition, so i’m using this song to get my foot in the door playing baritone :))) i’ve been a clarinet player for 5 years and i need a change
cant wait to play this, sounds awesome. i play euphonium, mainly treble, im starting to get clef, i switch between euphonium and trumpet. eupgonium for concert, trumpet for marching.
Ah I played this in band freshman year. Now i'm in junior year and in a higher band and I still miss this song.
Ahh it's so good
and now that I remember, The composer came to our school and conducted us
My school's wind ensemble is playing this song right now (:
This is my favorite concert song.
Played this!
Baritone player! Love it!
Omg Karissa lol its David from ur school just to clarify thats funny u responded to this XP
I like this better than the professional recording.
we are playing this at my school and I am actually really starting to love my part!! I got a baritone lol
NOW THATS HOW I WANT THE TUBA SECTION TO SOUND LIKE!!!! AND ALL LOW BRASS and maybe even the bassoons and bari sax im playing this for a festival tomorrow at kingsburg and i hope we sound atleast half this good
I played this during my schools winter concert and i played the trombone. I can also play it on baritone, but there weren't any trombones so, but i love this
OMJ i remember playing this for the 8th Grade Allstate Band 3 years ago, along with Overture for Winds, Nettleton & something else i don't remember lol.... WoW. Every year since then at all-state i hope a band will play this song, but it has yet to happen! :]
I bet u half the people that clicked on this video have to play this for a concert
I'm playing piccolo in this song for 8th grade this year!
MOST EPIC SONG WE EVER PLAYED
Brings back old memories from my freshmem year.... The middle was faster though.
I played this song my junior year of high school, I played tuba and when I say these lower notes took every last breath in me! Lol
Playing this song at my High School's graduation for the seniors... reminds me of a war movie though. This song would be perfect for the end credits of a touching war movie
the one song which makes it worth playing low brass
Learning it now, playing the chimes part but on a vibraphone because we have too many percussionists.
By far my favorite song I played this in Socal Honor band and although the most difficult song I have played was Don Ricardo this is by far the best and most majestical song I have heard and I think being in Socal in 8th grade might be the highlight of my life no matter what I loved allllll of it :) Just like the Description said ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE... Thank you from the start of band for my 5th grade time going to 6th I used to be the worst trumpet but now I am the best in my school and I hit 3rd chair in socal and now Im in jazz bands like Chaffey, Ultimate Vibe and others sry if Im trying to sound like a show off but this song really inspired me to try and he the best I could... Thank you so much
+David Garcia OMG David!! It's Brianna!! Lol can't believe I found you here xd
+Brianna Yang uhh wow uhh this toom an unexpected turn of events XD
my band just played this at a concert today and yes this sounds so much better
it sounds even better than what Sam Hazo had us play
it was a guest artist concert
I lovr this song played it on basson and bari sax
LAWLZ! We are using Hells Bells sounding bells in the beginning of our version! It sounds totally awesome.
my best freshman piece
I'm in my high school's wind ensemble and this is one of the songs we will be playing at our concert assessment. Along with Black Horse Troop by John Philip Sousa and Emperata Overeture by Claude T. Smith.
I am too! Those same songs. What a coincidence! XD
Same here LyleMcfly, we have a pretty awesome spring concert including Novo Lenio. 3rd trumpet X( part isn't very fun, but it's a good piece.
And I have to admit this even though I'm a high woodwind. The lows sound fucking badass!
@HALOFREAK9715 that's exactly me, I mostly play in wind symphony trombone or trumpet, and were playing this piece this year. It's great!
Bari sax here!!! I love 57!!!
I was lucky enough to play the snare/ride/woodblock on this piece. It remains one of the most touching pieces of music I've ever played.
Im playing this in my high school band
I play timpani on this song and it is one of my favorite timpani pieces ever! 1st has to go to critical mass though.
i played the 1st clarinet part in High School. i loved this so much i miss it
Whoop whoop. 1st Trumpet 2005!
Last year, we played this for aijb (all-illinois junior band). This was by far the best song. It gives me so much nostalgia just listening to it.
Yeah I was one one of the trumpets in that band. This piece and Rikudim were so cool. We got to play on garbage cans for this song.... :)
man... its crazy that its already been a year since auditions
ps i played trumpet too. Im back in it this year as well
Hey, i'm doing AIJB this year on tenor sax, how's the expierence?
Andrew Mancuso and also once you see this do you know what music we're playing cause in dying to know lol
Yep, concert was actually tonight, and we rocked it. Best song of the night in most people's opinion...
I love this song. Heard it a few times played but this is an awesome recording.
Who is it?
Played this at WKU honor band
Wow, I loved it. I played it in all county band this year, but it was nothing compared to this recording! Who played it?
