    Hi Ty, I love your videos so informative & nicely explained. The other thing that really impressed me was that you take the time to answer all the questions whereas most don't & it's so frustrating. After all we watch the videos to learn. so thank you & you will be my go -to from now on.

    When the packaging says to remove carbon I assume it means to remove the filter cartridge,so that means the filter will not be working for the treatment time,I have a powerful air stone,will there be problems with the water or anything else during the treatment?Thank you in advance.

    Hi Ty, we have a very sick betta (hole in the head, most likely internal parasites, etc) and would like to try this, but his water parameters aren't quite stable yet. Should we wait a couple weeks first? Also, would we be able to do a water change after the first day and then redose for both days on the second?
    Thanks for this video, I'll be checking out your others!

    Hey Ty love your videos! I have subscribed to your Chanel!
    I have a question I have a stablished 35 guppy community tank the ages range from fry to adults, it seems every month I loose a fish to a paristite, they look like they are wasting away, I lost one a few weeks ago so I fed medicated food for a week and I now see the beginning signs on one of my beautiful fancy tales male guppy, should I just use general cure on the whole tank?

    • @Aquariumswithty
      @Aquariumswithty  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heather Lovejoy sorry to hear about you fish having parasites, I would dose the whole tank for sure after you get that tank under control before you add fish to it I would use like a ten gallon quarantine tank for you to monitor new fish. Use the general cure and I would also say use epsom salt 1 tablespoon for every ten gallons. You could also use metroplex from Seachem which is a little stronger I believe. If medicating the tank fails to get it under control consider medicating the food instead. Do this my soaking some bloodworms in the medication and then dump the food in the tank. Sorry for the long winded response but I just really want to help. 😂

    • @heatherleelovejoy9690

      Aquariums With Ty thanks so much for the response! Should I just dose 1 time with the Epsom salt? And I paid money and bought medicated flake food, I didn't think about putting it on Bloodworms, that would have saved me some money, is there a certain amount that I would put on the blood worms?

    • @Aquariumswithty

    I have applied the API General Cure 4 packs in my 45 Gallon tank on 7/18 and see no improvement as of now.Its still lazy and not eating that much.
    Do i need to add Epsom Salt along with API General cure...?
    Please suggest other options

      ayan chatterjee are you dosing general cure exactly how the package says? Also I would do a 50 percent water change befor treating the tank. You could also try metroplex from Seachem. If using these does not work buy a food that your fish LOVES to eat and medicate the food. And yes put the salt in first. Hope this helps

      Glenn H ya! I plan to someday actually they are called “sumps” and the aquarium behind me has a built in sump that works exactly like one you would put below you’re aquarium. Maybe I’ll start with that.

      @@Aquariumswithty cool I plan on treating the display tank as I lost a clownfish to internal parasites last week and now my other clownfish is showing same symptoms, but I don't want to kill my bristle worms as they are a great cuc

      I don’t think it would kill them it’s invertebrate safe. But you could medicate your food (maybe some floating pellets) or whataever to avoid any chance of your bristle worms getting it. Thanks for watching and I hope I have been some help

    why would you do a 50% water change when you don't have high nitrates OR something going on within the tank that requires such a drastic change ... Giving someone that advice could do more harm to a tank then good . A 25% is more then adequate . ALWAYS TEST YOUR WATER FIRST

      Lol

    • @Aquariumswithty

    • @kenhappen2u
      @kenhappen2u 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Aquariumswithty That is not what you said ... You said to do a 25% water change and then put carbon back in .... Then you went on to say " I say do a 50% water chance because why not ... you can have Crystal clear water like me " So which is it ? A 25 % water change or 50% ... telling people to do a 50 % water change is just plain BAD advice !

    • @Aquariumswithty
      @Aquariumswithty  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      kenhappen2u if I came off that I do 50 percent water changes for no reason that was not my intention. I do 50 percent to keep water parameters as stable as possible. I typically do them once a week. When medicating parasites can either fall off or be passed through poop I do the water changes to ensure any parasites live or dead get water changed out.

    Pet or not I have to choose what I can afford. Buy the fish cheap and pay a fortune to keep it alive. Fish breeders sell diseased fish and they pass them down to the buyers.

      RytchieTv I should also say that by the time u buy the meds like general , focus, garlic, you could have got like a ten gallon tank and just some general cure. It’s my preference to do it with a small tank so I know that the fish is getting the medicine and I don’t have to wonder if the meds binded to the food.
