I have been obsessed with this book for about a year. Thank you for mentioning the translator. It was so beautifully translated and such a interesting world. I loved how original it feels compared to a lot of YA.
I do so hope that you review the Missing of Clairdelune soon! I absolutely loved it. Luckily, my French is good enough, so I read it on kindle and listened to the french audiobook. I have a certain part (you know the one) bookmarked on audible and it gets me every. single. time I play it. I have finished #3, but can't wait to read it in English this fall. I may have to buy #4 in French because I don't think I can wait for that one to be translated!! I will keep an eye out for your review!

I read A Winter’s Promise a few months back and I absolutely loved it! I recently picked up the second book in the series so I’m excited to read that soon!

I got the third one in Hungarian and I'm now taking all my french knowledge to translate the fourth one so I can finally find out what happened! I can't wait for the English translations to come out to see if I interpreted them right!
I was so suprised when I recognised these books in the background in another one of your video and I. Freaked. Out. So. Much. I'm french and I LOVE these books and I didn't realised that they were translated. I'm happy to see you so excited about them ! I loved the first two, and even if I enjoyed greatly the third, I read it in a day and was frustrated for half of it because of reasons so I didn't enjoyed it as much ahah. As for the last one, I'm currently reading it, and I don't really know what to think about it. It's great, but the firt ones were such a joy to read, I remember feeling nostalgic when I firt read them because it gave me the same feelings that I had when reading Harry Potter or watching a Ghibli movie. It was so refreashing ! And it still is in a sense: the plot is great, the characters are great, the background is great but I'm less excited about it ahah! It just doesn't compare to the first two in term of evoking the same feeling in me. I'm curious about your thoughts on the last two when you read them though ! Ah and this review was great! Made me a bit nostalgic ahah !

Ha! I've tried to resurrect my french from its introductory class stage to read the rest of the books and reading them in their original language too! Not such luck tho. !

This book is absolutely mystical and charming and exciting every step of the way. I'm so excited for the english translation to be released for the third book September, yet at the same time I'm so impatient I could die UGH. If only I could pick up french quick enough and finish the quartet series as soon as possible (though I know it's just wishful thinking *sighs*).
Ooh I found it on my audiobook subscription a couple of days ago, will be listening to it soon as the pub dat for book three is getting closer now :) I hope you'll enjoy it! :D
Oh I'm very glad you loved that book ! I always am when people on non-french booktube read books from my country :) That being said I have mixed feelings about this book. I loved the world building, I loved the magic system, I loved some of the characters and I loved the dynamics between Thorn and Ophelia. Buuuuut I did not enjoy the plot as much. I would even say that book 4 in the series ruined it for me. I will always remember loving the first two books when I first read them, but my rereading of them I did see a lot of flaws that I didn't notice the first time around. And those flaws unfortunately are bigger and worst in the 4th book. It's just my opinion though and I really hope my opinion will not stain your enjoyment of the series. Have you read the other books yet ?
Oh no, I am at that point where I have only read book one and two - book three hasn't come out yet in English and I am not really up for reading such a long book in German lol. Mmm I am intrigued by your comment, what didn't you like about the plot in the first two books? And no worries about staining my enjoyment, I enjoy hearing different opinions :)
@@TheArtisanGeek what makes me say that I didn't enjoy the plot was the lack of stakes. It is not so bothering in the first two books though. I mean there are some stakes : Ophelia could die, but then, what ? I don't think the author made me fear the consequences of Ophelia dying much. Does that make sense ? Also some things happen and just make me think : what was that for ? How has that event made the story progress in anyway ? SPOILER FOR ANYONE HIW HASNT READ BOOK 1 AND 2. For example the whole subplot with the knight. He was scary, but then in book 2 we get rid of him real fast, and I was like "what would she write all those scary scenes with the knight if ge disappear so quickly, without consequence for Ophelia "
