There are a lot of reasons that contribute to not immediately being able to achieving an objective. And solving these can be fulfilling in itself. Need to start at the begining.
very interesting discussion! I don't believe we can even begin to imagine what life elsewhere in the Universe would be like, because we are too biased with pre-conceived notions of what we know (or think we know) about life here on Earth. Nevertheless, science is THE way to go about it.
We are a very young species, the more knowledge and understanding we achieve through science the more we are able to literally create new plants, animals and life itself. Why is it so hard to believe that someone way more advanced than us is the cause of our creation? I don’t think we were created by chance, every planet has a purpose that helps life on this one exist.
Need to be more focused on initial steps to find life. How to establish boundaries and validated sign posts as we move forward. We are exploring new territories we will establish by trial and error.
It is so unlikely that we are the only planet with life. The same matter and energy that formed our sun and planets are floating endlessly through space and creation is constantly happening. It’s so sad that the James Webb telescope only sees infrared. Imagine if we could see planets in full color and HD with that same telescope with every type of technology and wavelength of light we know about including radiation instead of just infrared that detects heat.
Maybe our AI can, not only make advances in medicine but create a telescope we haven’t thought of yet. And also help us see just how important it is to save the planet we have before we destroy the only planet we know about with life. If we could terraform mars in theory for life, why the heck can’t we fix our planet first?

Im pretty sure the answer to the calculation on the blackboard is 42
