Grown men now. And some of them I can still recognize from their childhood performances. The joy has not changed a bit. I'm so glad so many of them could make it to the reunion. Mazel tov! Ten years after the performance. I'd love to see the reunion be a regular thing.
This was very difficult to pull off. It was a one time performance for their 36 anniversary concert. They've done Alumni groups in the past (including an album of original songs with a group of 4 alum called Miami Alumni) but it's difficult to maintain a group like this as most of them have jobs outside of music or have moved away.
No my heart is not still there. They stole it the first I watched this video. I always tear up. Grown up even more since ten yrs have passed since this performance. They simply amazing and I love the song.I watch this often and can't stop smiling.
It is from Psalms 133 - the words mean “Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brothers also to dwell together!” Which is very appropriate because these guys are all alumni of the Miami boys choir through different “generations” of the close to 5 decades choir (though most of them are from the 2000s)
Front Row, Stage Right to Stage Left: Gershi Adler; Jordan Odinsky; Shaul Elson; Yoshi Bender; Benji Elson; Zalman Pollack; Eli Sinreich; Jonathan Brody. Back Row; Stage Right to Stage Left: Amiel Tabanpour; Yisroel Moshe Weinreb; Yitzchak Friedman; Daniel Muchnick; Eric Stern(Steve Carrell look-alike); Nochum Stark; Isaac Benishai; Elchonon Majeski; Zevy Kaufman I watched the Miami 36 concert and it listed the names and kid/adult pictures so I just went through and matched the adult picture to a person during the performance.
Hi there! I have a question for someone who is Jewish, I mean absolutely no disrespect from my question, it is just coming from a place of pure curiosity. Why is it that some Jewish men have long hair growing from their sideburns, and some have a simple, clean haircut with no long hair? And does a Jewish man having a beard VS no beard have any significance? Thank you so much!
Hi! It’s just different sects of Judaism. The long locks are called peyot - those are usually Hasidic. Clean shaven is usually just regular orthodox or modern orthodox.
they are called peyot/payot/peyes (depends which language and sect) some wear them long and curled some just don't fully shave their hair, some wear them a bit longer behind the ears, some just cut it. judaism is like all other religions in that it has different interpretations of how certain rules should be followed.
Two ID questions: 50 seconds in, who is the guy second from the (audience's) right in the group singing? He looks so similar to Little Isaac (although I know it's not him, since Big Isaac is someone else on that stage lol). And, who is that jovial, happy-for-everyone guy with the long peyos? I've been wondering ever since I've seen him for the first time, sometime in the last two weeks.
Is it just me... or do they actually sound better?... Now, who was it that said you can't improve on perfection? I hope they get to cover their whole 'back catalogue'. Wouldn't be interesting if the 'copyright' owner decided to do a 'mix' Yes, a 'then' & 'now' duet would be absolutely magical. Jewish music is going mainstream...at least attaining its own following.
these men are all men who graduated from the younger choir at any point. most of them are from before the 2007 group (the yerushalayim group), so like from 2000-2005, however im sure some men were in mbc way earlier than 2000 as well. this performance was from 2013 though so im guessing yoshi was like 16-18. idk how old he is now
Well, firstly the accent and pronunciation that they’re using is different than the Hasidic dialect. But mainly because they’re not dressed Hasidic. As an Orthodox Jew there are some nuances that are obvious to me.
Yoshi still having a blast performing!! I loved hearing the matured voices!
HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S JUST GLAD TO BE THERE 😭
this is from 2013 😭
i disagree. less passion in this performance. bring back the boys
We also hope to see them sing Yerushalayim!
so true
MAKE THIS HAPPEN
YES!!!!
The internet would never recover from a full-length video of all of the same performers doing yerushalayim 😂😂 but like ...i mean that in the best way
you know this was recorded 10 years ago, right?
The reunion of this choir may be one of the most wholesome things that happened this year 10/10
It didn't happen this year
it literally happened 10 years ago

If you do not love these guys then check to see if your heart is still there! 🧡

For those who dont know. This is from psalms and loosely translated it means how beautiful it is for people to dwell together in unity
I have no ide what they are singing. But i can say, when i feel down i jsut lisen to this song and it makes me happy again.

I love these people ❤
Love how much fun they are all having
I wish they'd do a "who's who" with their childhood pictures :-) One of them absolutely hasn't changed though
Yoshi Bender😂
Mormor noterar; glädjen finns kvar, lovsången mognar och visheten djupnar. Välsignelse till er med familjer!!🙏
Greetings, thanks for sharing.
It would be much enjoyable if the video can make the singers’ past (child period) and now (adult) at the same time.❤😊🎉

I think his name is Benji Elson
Here’s his TH-cam channel

Is there way you can add translation?
Loosely translated it means how beautiful it is for people to dwell together in unity. From the book of psalms
Are these the same guys ?
From the Yerushalayim performance? No
these men are all men who graduated from the younger choir at any point. most of them are from before the 2007 group (the yerushalayim group), so like from 2000-2005, however im sure some men were in mbc way earlier than 2000 as well. this performance was from 2013 though so im guessing yoshi was like 16-18. idk how old he is now
At least one of them is. Yoshi Bender.
Someone now what with shaul elson today ?
I really like this. Sounds like Persian music from the 1980's. I know it's a weird analogy.
Beautiful amazing singers hatzlucha in the future
Mazel tov!

כל הכבוד מאוד יפה

Most of these guys barely know one word of Yiddish, if at all.
Not Yiddish, Ashkenazi.
@@jordankay4754who do u think speaks Yiddish? The ashkenazi.

I just can't believe all of them are still religious
That’s how they were brought up. However not all of them are Hasidic.
Why on earth not?!
Actually non of them are Hasidic. Just regular orthodox or modern orthodox.
@@reginaphalange9316 How do know none of them are Hasidic?
Well, firstly the accent and pronunciation that they’re using is different than the Hasidic dialect. But mainly because they’re not dressed Hasidic. As an Orthodox Jew there are some nuances that are obvious to me.
