What surprised you in the academic fallacies? Comment bellow! I was astonished to learn that tuition fee is not the biggest revenue source.

Good to know that. What amaze me is that those so called scientists that work for human development and work in the universities, somehow they dont know or dont care where the money comes from, if it is by a voluntary donation or extracted by force by means of taxes to people.

Also you do a great job with your videos. They are just the right length for a review.

I have a friend who is a PhD in Electrical Engineering. He taught graduate level math in a large, well known state university. He said he was lucky if one student in his classes would know the prerequisite. They would complain and want multiple choice tests. The other professors didn't care if the students learned anything or not. He quit after 5 years and started his own company so he could do his own research.

yes, grade inflation was also mentioned in the book as benefiting professors but not benefitting students. Also, funny enough education is one of the very few products you can purchase once only and never return or get your money back

Generally eye-opening, as usual for Thomas Sowell and your reviews! Perhaps your brief review couldn't explain his argument fully, but the point about tuition hikes based on easy government money doesn't explain why students would choose those if they are then subjected to a lifetime of debt. You could get into a lifetime of debt on private loans if the terms are right, or the debtor is uninformed enough. I know Sowell is staunchly libertarian, but how does he square the fact that students continue to put themselves in debt, regardless of the source?
Amazing review, as usual, keep up the great work!

I hate all academia, even psychology.

I would not say all academia is terrible. I have met professors who really care and teach what is necessary, not only what is interesting for them. However the system is flawed in general - wrong incentives.
