Making a very good income (finally) after a career on just-over-average (and below) salaries my entire life... I definitely don't feel rich! Far too many people have a binary perspective on these issues.

great job breaking it down chapter by chapter every week. there seems to be so much information in this book that a lot of it would have been lost if you had done only one review.

Yes, exactly - it's like six books in one. Next two reviews are Race Fallacies and Third World Fallacies - very hot topics.

Odolena, I enjoyed your video and Sowell's observations. The main thesis of Sowell's comments seem to be that it is impossible to statistically analyze income distribution over a large population. Could not the same criticism be leveled at most all statistics that involve complex questions and large numbers of individuals in a changing environment, such as those involving health statistics or economic opportunities such as those mentioned between men and women as described in one of your previous videos? However, keeping in mind the various discrepancies that Sowell offers isn't there a trend towards the concentration of wealth in most, if not all of the world's economies? Do you believe there is no way of measuring this? If there is no way of adequately measuring this, then any subsequent conversation regarding the distribution of wealth is moot. I believe this is Sowell’s main point.

This book was a horrid exercise....
In this book, Mr. Sowell treats ethical/sociological issues specifically within the boundaries of economics. Okay..but how does he fail? He then proceeds to link sweeping ethical claims that transcend the realm of economics.
I think Glenn Loury would write a better book, regarding this material. I doubt he would use the material as a means of juxtaposing his ideology with "facts."
