      I would like to see the Mini Countryman WRC, that was such a nice model and they never brought it back
      Another one and done that we know why it won’t come back soon would be the LaFerrari, it was the last new Ferrari they did before they lost the license, it would be cool to see it in part 2 or 3

    Love it. The vector was all over car magazines when I was a kid just getting into hot wheels. It was the future of supercars and it never came to fruition. Would love to see it come back… While it would look great in the way it would look wicked in black

      @@miked3168 before weigart died you could get new wheels from him to put modern tires on. When he died his shop was put through the auction and I saw a ton of half finished cnc cut wheels for the vectors out there. If you owned one, you likely knew and were in contact with weigart

    I have the TT RS from Speed Machines, another one and done casting. I had the orange one growing up, lost that one. I later found a mint silver one at a flea market last summer for $2. Quite a steal considering how much they go for these days.

      I remember passing up on a silver one in favor of an orange GTR SpecV (also from Speed Machines) many years ago. Today, I drive a 2nd gen TT and that silver casting is the closest any 1:64 diecast brand has gotten to it. I seriously regret picking the GTR over it.

    My all time favorite video of yours was the original version of this. Vector W8* has always been one of my favorite cars IRL and I'm glad to own the Hot Wheels version. One-and-dones (or two-and-dones) are some of the coolest to have to have in a collection, I usually deliberately go after them for that very reason. DB4 Zagato, LaFerrari*, MC12*, NFS Mustang*, Audi TTS, Murcielago SV*, 250 California, Mini Countryman, Mustang II, Vector M12*... the list just goes on and on. It's truly baffling considering some of these castings are superb and licensing in theory shouldn't inhibit newer releases. ("*" means I have it)

    There are many Hollywood based castings that we'll probably never see in any other forms (Simpsons cars, 101 Dalmations, Jetsons, red Grease Lightning car, etc) . There are many 70's and 80's castings also that were done 1 time in 1 color and never returned again. Hopefully you touch on some of those

    The yellow Mustang II you have shown is based on real show cars called the "Munroe Handlers. 6 custcom cars were built in a joint venture between Monroe shocks & Hot Rod Magazine . Car Craft was also involved in the builds which were body kits added to the Mustang II's . Revell Models also made model kits of this custom car

    I try to collect as many different licensed cars as I can. Love to have assortments of cars from all manufacturers. I saw the quadttroporte at a hot wheels toy show in my town and wanted it. I, for one, WOULD like to see the Mustang II in a second release; personally, I'd like to see it done in a similar "ugly car" paint job, maybe the reddish-orange of the center stripe as the base color with the bold yellow of the base color on this model as the two outside stripes, then the center stripe done in maybe a forest green.
    I personally have what I strongly suspect to be a one-and-done mainline casting in my collection, and if any of you have information to the contrary, then PLEASE tell me! It's a variant casting of the Chevy Stocker with small rear wheel wells and cast-in doors, and as far as I know, it's only ever been released in white with indigo, red, and silver tampos decorated as a Huffman Racing no 1 car. They later released the IROC Firebird in an adapted version of the same paint scheme, but I personally like how they executed that scheme on the modified Chevy Stocker better. If it truly is a one-and-done casting (and the unmodified Chevy Stocker casting did appear for a while after in both the original and Track Stars toolings, so it can't be a licensing issue, can it?) then I would REALLY like to see a return of this casting for just one more run - maybe they could do another run of their "The Lost Cars of China" series with it in it, or maybe a "The Lost Cars of Malaysia" or "... of Thailand", depending on where it was manufactured (not going downstairs to look at it just to finish this post lol).

    Nice showcase, interesting theme. The Maseratis actually got me into peghunting and I still have that Quattroporte, never got my hands on the MC12, would love to though. The Lincoln and Mustang II are very cool tidbits of automotive history that I wouldn't mind adding to my collection. Happy I have the Vector, would love to find the M12 version in lilac from the mainline to compliment it. The TT-S is interesting but I'm rather content with the MBX mainline TT-RS 3rd gen, great cast! Looking forward to the 2 other parts 👍👍

    That Quattroporte was my second ever ostensibly 'good' model (the code my dad and I used for castings based on real motors with printed lights). As a result of unboxing it at age four it's seen quite the beating but never left my carry cases. At 22 with nearly 300 cars to my collection of 'good models', it's so nice to see something here that was pivotal in kickstarting a near life-long hobby in it's pristine glory!

  • @Davids_Hobbies
    @Davids_Hobbies 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    This is why HW lost the Maserati license. Fiat-Chrysler, who already owned Ferrari, bought Maserati. After it was bought, Ferrari started producing the engines for Maserati. The Quattroporte and the MC12 use Ferrari engines and the MC12 actually shares the same chassis as the Ferrari Enzo. Since HW lost the Ferrari license, Maserati had to go along with it unfortunately.

    • @BLACKAAROW
      @BLACKAAROW 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      interesting, when did HW lose the license like around 2014/2015? if that's the case it still doesn't explain why no maserati HW cars were made for a decade up until they lost the Ferrari license.

    • @Davids_Hobbies
      @Davids_Hobbies 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BLACKAAROW honestly I don't remember when HW lost the Ferrari license and I assume that no Maseratis were made after was because they weren't popular, which was stated in the video. Disappointing that no other Maseratis were made. I'd like a Granturismo or the new MC20 but unfortunately that doesn't look like that's gonna happen.

    I think one that should be mentioned was the Skyline R30 Silhouette. Very nice piece.
    If we're talking about something more than just premiums, then I could say the Peugeot 206, which is the last Peugeot car in the entire Hot Wheels line since 2005. Another is a couple lines: The Zowees which are the original HW Micros back in the 70s, and Speed Racer. The latter costs a pretty penny for one of each.

He sold me a few Speed Machines for $2 each as well (a black and an orange R35 GT-R!!!). I couldn't get the cash out fast enough. I hadn't seen another W8 in person since I bought mine all those years ago. I have the MC-12 as well, but we really need some kind of premium supercar series that features cars like the Maserati. The one that got released, then disappeared rapidly,was the WRC Mini Countryman rally car. Was in white/red then white/dark green, then vanished.
    I bought both of those Mazzers out when new. Love the MC12 (Ferrari Enzo cousin) and actually had TWO of the Quattroporte (it's quattro-por-tay BTW) and I loved the combination of metallic denim blue with that dark tan interior. A very very under appreciated car both in 1/64 but in real life too.

    Surprised you didn't make a nod towards the new KITT Concept clearly cribbing the lines of the Vector W8TT. You can't NOT see it.

    I think one reason the Vector never came back is on top of licensing being an issue like you said, their founder Gerald Wiegart passed within the last few years and the company has kinda dipped in and out of existence since the late 90s. A one and done model I'd love to see come back is the Alfa Romeo BAT 9 as well as the Mercedes 300d Wagon from the 90s, although we're getting the AMG wagon soon so ill take that instead.

    I think I actually have that Maserati Quattroporte in a bin somewhere.
    Of course I wish for Ferrari to come back. I love movie cars, and that 250 GT California is such an iconic car from one of my favorite movies.

    I'm from the UK and I'd love to see Monograms Exacts re-released? I have the Mustang, '57 Chevy, '90s Ford Thunderbird and the Pontiac Grand Prix.
    I think the TT-S looks great in the red. Hotwheels should bring back their old look wheels from the 80's...........? Purely from a nostalgic view. Greenlight seem to have the edge on Hotwheels with detail castings.
    Everyone gets nostalgic over 80's cars but the Vector W2 and W8 has the 80's vibe all in one.

    I think the Mustang is a Charlie Kemp. He sold a few street versions but his main interest was racing. This deco was done for a promotion for an aftermarket supplier. One of the shock-absorber companies; but I can't remember which one. HW could bring it back as long as they produced the Chevy Monza silohouette a year or two ago. Kemp's car challanged it in IMSA racing in what was supposed to be a real Ford vs Chevy battle. The Ford was not successful and pulled out after less than a year while the Monza won the championship twice.
    You asked what became of the Audi TTS casting? = Answer: Matchbox.
    I like the website and like these videos. Thanks so much for doing them.

    The one and done I'm kind of up set about is the Dark Gray Jeep Grand Cherokee from the Fast and Furious movie. To my knowledge they have not done another casting of it. When it came out I was sure we would see other colors and variations of it.

    I have 2 vector w8 cars and really would love to see this car come back, it's another cool car with sad back story because the issues of it's production. I saw this car in the rising sun film and loved it immediately, when I saw in the trailer for Power Drive 2000 (An abandoned kickstarter project with thousands of dollars behind it) I wanted more, if they ever find a way to bring this mold back I want to see it in more colors, honestly if they gave us a box set of the same car in all it's factory colors (especially the rare purple one) I would be all in and go out of my way to track one down if such a thing ever got made.

    The Maserati Quattroporte and the Chevy Nova castings seem to be a bit off. Not a fan of the Mustang, but I get your point. Would looove to see all the others come back. Specially the Vector! The Plymouth GTX! And the Lincoln Futura!
