Dsitt7 Yeah, if you get a comet storm you're most likely to not get your money's worth.

I didn't get a foil rare or mythic rare, the other was bob which was fine.
Two friends of mine bought three boxes together, 4 Goyfs, one of them foil. I saw that and decided to avoid buying a box since all the good ones were probably bought by them.
Congratulations professor! Im glad you've made it to box three. I've watched some of your other booster box games. They rarely make it past 2 boxes if ever at all. Good job on those pulls ! I hope you will enjoy the cards you got from them. And like always, keep up the entertaining and informative videos !

That lodestone golem you pulled, I actually bought the older version of the card from a previous expansion and now it is eligible for standard. It works so well with any fast paced aggro deck. So happy about that!

This was the most entertaining Buster Box game yet, due to you having to hit a jackpot or bust. From the length of the video I figured you hit a goyf, but the foil clique, god damn!

Watching this in 2018 just before MM25 release, shedding a tear at seeing Mox Opal and Karn at $30.
The new Golf sits at $23.000 retail, depending on the extra features you chose. Would've been a sweet pull for sure.

Seriously though, this is a brilliant Idea! A lot of fun to watch, and I would enjoy seeing this in future sets as well.
I get that the video has more impact for MM 2015 because of the high price, but I think this would be entertaining for the regular sets as well.

I drafted for the first time today and The environment was incredible I had a ton of fun with a B/W spirits deck.
In the 2nd box, there were the best cards of MM2015, and you sold it.. I know, it's the Booster box game, but that was the best box opened in history of your channel, I think.
The fact that eye of ugin was 4 bucks until the most recent protour really pisses me off

+andrew dacunto Eye of Ugin is much more terrific if you ask me. Reducing the cost of almost everything you play by 2 is much better than adding 2 to your mana pool once.
ScarFearz Eye of Ugin is inherently broken in itself in every form of the word. The turn two win is Eye of Ugin into three mimics then on turn two you eldrazi temple and pitch spirit guide into a reality smasher for 20 damage. Can you think of a single other card that can essentially produce 6 mana on turn one? This is why Eye of Ugin needs to be banned. Too powerful for Modern.

Tying a box opening to its financial value makes this series one of the most entertaining ways to watch someone crack packs.
I got a foil Clique!!! It was insane! Last couple drafts I played paid for themselves (if I sold/sell the cards) ! Which is why now I'm hooked on draft tournaments...
I would say the booster box game is good for beginners or returners to magic has in the end it does give you bulk cards to pick from.
And sometimes having a bunch of random cards to be able to make strange off homebrew casual decks that are more for fun than competition is always a good thing.
I know I had that one friend who loved making goofy decks to just have some random fun with

Fun to see the difference in prices from 4 years ago and today. Instead of being like 3$ Surgical Extraction now goes closer to 40-50$.

That Comet Storm was such a douche move by Wizards, I feel your pain. The hours before the modern masters draft at the LGS I was saying to everyone, "watch me draw a Comet Storm" First booster I open, lo' and behold, there it was.
Why are people so mad about Comet Storm instead of all the other shit rates in MM2? At least it's strong in draft and playable in EDH. There are plenty of races that suck in draft and are never played in any format.
because it occupies a mythic slot in the box, and if you get it instead of another one you lose a ton of money
1Heirborn The most damning issue for me - and the Professor nailed it in the video - is that so very few of the uncommons and commons is actually ever played IN MODERN. Why release a modern set in which 90% of the cards you're going to open will never see play outside of limited? It makes no sense to me... And a limited set at $10/pack is not a healthy limited set. :(
Oh yeah, that's the biggest problem by far, but I think Comet Storm gets too much undeserved hate

that third box you got was pretty much my first box i was disappointed i mean i got some kool card's in my box pulled some foil's that where worth some money and if i when to put to all the card's value together an every i maybe got half my money back but i did get my karn :)

Reminds me of the first time I ever bought a box. I saved up my Christmas and birthday money and bought a box of 7th Edition. I got 3 Okks and 2 Trained Orgg. I remember being pretty disappointed with that purchase.

Your last box was almost identical to my first. The only saving grace my box had was that I got it for way cheaper than MSRP by trading in old cards I didn't care for.
Mr. Professor, we all want you to get to ten boxs. So maybe for Magic Origins you can use previous cards of high value to get to the next box. Like if in this one, if you still needed 20.00 dollars in box 2 and you had a rare from box 1 of that value, and you pull it over. If you do not agree, please say so in you next Booster Box Game.

I feel like you should make the videos a similar length no matter how many boxes you open, and just use different speeds to make it fit.
this one is by far the most successful over retailed pricing of the other booster box game products he has done.

It's great how the prices fell so much between boxes 2 and 3.
After having competed in the MM GP Vegas, while the financial value gap is atrocious, the cards themselves are absolutely amazing and fun in both sealed and deaft. Not $10 a pack good, but definitely a great experience.
This booster box seems epic for casual play at home and collectors.

Charles jones yeah. I've had nothing but terrible packs and boxes from these ten dollar scratch off lottery tickets. never again, wizards. I'm not spending a dime more on masters sets.
Those first two boxes were damn good. Foil clique , then a Goyf. Sadly tho that third box proved why the Booster box game is a gamble.
Well at least you have a ton of rares, commons and uncommons to play/build with, on top of the enjoyment of opening a bunch of really good cards.
