Why courage? For a non-American person speaking with another non-American

    • @TinyEpics

Courage? That was how all us liberals felt and openly voiced our dissent during this time. You must be very young or have lived in the Bible Belt?

@@TinyEpics I feel I can say the same thing about there being more things than Trump & Biden in 2023... bc Americans and non-Americans seem to still be very extremely obsessed about both of them (even though Trump hasn't been president since 3 years ago, and Biden obviously has dementia), which is understandable, but also proves my point.

That is why I like Bjork so much: she is among the five greatest female singers ever IMHO, yet she gets shy when she is complimented. 😊 She has a very beautiful voice, and I like her approach to music. She is a genuine artist, I think. I love all of her CDs of 1992-2012, I am not so fond of her songs post-2012. Nevertheless, she will always have a special place in my heart... 👍😊

The compliment was something like: "when you sing it seems as if you're possessed by something. Has anyone said that before? Is that what make you such a great singer?"
Also the first two questions are about acting in a movie (Dancer in the Dark, surely.)

The Japanese really respect and love Bjork as an artist. Her CDs spent more time on the Japanese charts than they did in most other countries. It does not hurt that she looks half Japanese. Lol... The interviewer said that Japanese people say that Bjork has an Eastern look.

WRITTEN, SINGLE, TOUCHED AND VISUAL POETRY OF THE BEST QUALITY! I was a teenager, I remember at the time that this clip of the song "Pagan Poetry" by this Icelandic singer Bjork, made a lot of controversy when it was released, I read in magazines, getting banned from MTV. According to my perception the clip can be divided into two parts. The first is basically composed of sex between abstract forms alternated with images of needles, piercings and collars being inserted into a woman's body. In the second part, Bjork is finally shown wearing a "wedding dress". Detail: This dress leaves Björk's breasts on display and is theoretically supported by the piercings and necklaces shown in the first part of the video. By having some "sex and nudity scenes" the unsuspecting may consider the video appealing and pornographic, however, it is far from it. The purpose of pornographic content is to sexually excite, whoever has seen knows what I am talking about, far from the purpose And the emotions of "Pagan Poetry." With all these needles, Björk's bipolar expressions, which now both cries, smiles, and surrealism in the sexual scenes, the transmitted feeling is basically pain, despair, and a near loss of sanity. A wedding dress is a symbol of love, after all a couple just gets married (or should be) when they both love each other. But the dress used in the video is only maintained thanks to the various painfully used necklaces and piercings By the singer. Therefore, love exists only close to her pain? The letter of the song does not give much detail on the reason for this pain.Infidelity? Unrequited love? Moral questions? Or worse, would the lover himself be the one who hurts her? , For whatever reason, love hurts and Björk, managed to pass all this pain so much for those who listen to the song and its silent and distressed I love him / her, both for those who see the instability of Their expressions in the video. Shocking, dark, mysterious, beautiful and painful, in short "Pagan Poetry" is a true work of art. What charmed, enchanted and enchanted those who see and hear!

I can't get over her artfulness.
I mean, she forgets the very first verse of Generous Palmstroke, and she comes back to herself and takes that forgetfulness and makes it part of the poetry of the song by cutting short the next verse. AND THAT WAS IMPROVISED in just a couple of seconds.
I mean, you really need to be smart and talented to do something like that beautiful.

Her performance was awesome! I have to say she was acting a bit different in her interview here than in other ones. It seems that she was coached on Japanese culture down to word choice. She paused briefly to choose the word “loyal” to describe her consistency in a certain element of her music. She made eye contact sparingly and acted really reserved. Well done, she didn’t change who she was or mislead in her answers but she was very culturally aware.

Hello to everyone. I am a lot older and wiser now than I was when Bjork was famous. I listen to her tracks now and I have to say this much... I can understand why she says that music has to come from emotion for example looking at her body language and facial expressions and the sheer amount of feeling emanating from her voice and her body makes me see her in such a different light. I didn't realize that she understood Japanese so well. I have in some ways seen Bjork as a woman who was so out of the modern version of what a musician is, that to this day I can go back to her music and she has stood the test of time. Hope that makes sense to anyone who takes the time to read my 5 cents. Peace out to y'all.

I wonder what the first question was; the one she answered “it took alot of time, three years and I was glad to get back to my own music.” What was she referring to?

This might shed a light on your question - even if the question is quite old. Also quite some of my friends share similar features without having inuit or asiatic ancestry - it happens sometimes here - i love the look, but have not got it myself.

Never once does she ever thank or credit the amazing line up of talented musicians & technicians that have poured all their inspiration into her music. I'd like to thank those people now.

      *****
Producers, composers & musicians as follows: Garry Hughes, Oliver Lake, Corky Hale, Gary Barnacle, Marius de Vries, Nellee Hooper, Luís Jardim, Talvin Singh, Bruce Smith, Martin Virgo, Paul Waller, Jon Mallison, Mike Mower, Jhelisa Anderson, Howie B, Hugo Nicolson, Brian Pugsley, Al Stone, Mark Warner, Paul Wertheimer, Goetz Botzenhardt, Jim Abbiss, Dave Burnham, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Pete Lewis, Mike Marsh, Tim Dickenson, Andy Bradford, Oggy, & H. Shalleh.
Of which are 95% male. There are no female film score composers, hardly any producers, & a rare occurrence where conducting is concerned. So yes, I agree. I wouldn't have said that if she were male, because unlike Björk who has 30+ talented people do all the work for her, men are more artistically competent. Here is a list of people who helped James Blake create _his_ debut album: James Blake.
Now, I'm not knocking her. I love her voice, the strings melody lines that she originally developed on a casio keyboard & how she gets the best out of people in her inimitable fashion. But do not even attempt to use the age-old sexist slant in order to castigate my original point. It's thanks to people like you blowing smoke up girls' arse why they have become so complacent & typical in music today. There are exceptions, yes. But not nearly enough.

+KINDLE you have no idea what youre talking about whatsoever. Her first compositions were as a young child. Most of the songs on her debut album were songs she had composed as a child and developed when she decided to go solo - 99% of the composition she does by herself. She collaborated at first so she could learn the technical aspects of production, nowadays she only collaborates because she thinks collaborating is a healthy thing for art. If you knew anything youd know her collaborators themselves have said they only come in to add a few layers on top of HER compositions and productions. She composes, arranges and produces most of her stuff in a laptop and then collaborates to add an extra coating of flavour.

Does she never? I think she always talks about the people she works with in the documentaries about her records. She always thanks and credits those people personally in her cds. She is a genius and of course she feels confident about the fact that she creates 80% of her stuff, but "she never credited" the others is false.
