    There are no comparison
    They are the best metro system in the world. Convenient, clean, safe, automated screen doors at every station, modern, stores, restroom, price, WiFi, universal (Govt controlled not many private like Tokyo)

    I visited Seoul last month and really liked their Metro. Once I figured it out I had no trouble getting around the city alone. So much better than BART in San Francisco! Very clean and efficient. I particularly liked the fact that TMONEY can be used on all transportation even cabs.

      Then please come to Berlin. Filthy, old-fashioned, no Wi-Fi and the trains don't run on time. And Germany should be rewarded for having the most bumpy roads in the Western world, too.

      Try Atlanta, Chicago, if you want to talk about a race to the bottom. Baltimore, the busses run very ad hoc. Don't make plans like working, and taking the bus simultaneously.

      @@mattl4802 Oh that doesn't sound so nice... I have never been to Toronto so I don't really know... Here in Berlin everything is just so filthy and dirty, but I have to say that the trains are kept relatively clean... But I have lived in Stockholm for quite some time and the Tunnelbana is way better than the Berliner U-Bahn... Cleaner and reliable.

    When I was stationed in Korea in 1999-2000, I spent a lot of off duty time in Seoul. It's been 25 years but I still remember the convenience, safety, cleanliness, and hospitality of the Korean people. Even when I wasn't sure where I was, or what transfer I needed, I could ask one of the locals (there was always someone around who could speak a little English). I would love to go back and see how much has changed.

    Thanks for the interesting video Johnny; it all makes Eglinton Station look pretty drab by comparison. Platform screen doors make so much sense when you see them in action here. Aside from the obvious of keeping riders safe from the tracks and trains, the offer more opportunities for providing information to riders such as next train arrivals, service disruptions (looking at you TTC), and even advertising. Also, they must help keep the platforms relatively cleaner by containing the dirt the trains kick up as well as reducing somewhat the noise they create.

  • @yvr2002rtw
    @yvr2002rtw ปีที่แล้ว +19

    I like how the subway platforms in Seoul have screen doors. Here in Vancouver, ever so often you would get disruptions in service due to "medical emergencies" (somebody fell/jump into the tracks) or trains would stop all of the sudden due to "track intrusion" (or some dropping their water bottle/cellphones into the track).
