One thing that everyone forgets about support version - you should not run sword! Run mace instead, with skill 2 you make fire field and with 3 you can blast it for more might
This is totally true, but I found sword/mace pretty interchangeable! In the current GW2 landscape I don't feel there's a HUGE need for healers to be responsible for Might upkeep when there's so much accidental Might spam in your squad anyway now. I find the Vuln + dps + extra Evade on Sword more useful personally, but there's definitely no harm in using Mace instead! Also in my defence there are ZERO good Mace skins 👀

Man I am so sick of playing herald as revenant main not gonna lie ;( And Renegade wasn't any good at release either, took them so much time to improve it.
Vindicator is getting some much needed pve buffs for damage on the 23rd, will still probably be near the bottom of the pile but it’s a step in the right direction.
I finally picked up herald just a few days ago and it’s very quickly becoming my favorite spec in the whole game. I don’t know why I waited this long to even try it, but better late than never I guess😅
I didn't play revenant for a long time because I didn't really understand the energy mechanic, but I picked up herald for wvw and kind of fell in love with it, so now that the pve balance patch has risen herald from the grave (rip old boon herald) I am pretty excited to play it again. It is a little annoying to slot into groups since everyone just wants firebrands now, but it is great for power fights like KC and CA as well as just being a fun alternative when the group is okay with it.
Got myself back into Rev coming from Mech cuz i just hated how mainstream mech is now and i have a few questions. 1. Is it better for the dps variant to just keep spamming all ur facets then swords 5-2-4 (btw why not using 3 instead of 5) or to precast Facets of Elements/Darkness/Strength and Nature then use ur sword skills and on low energy to consume the facets then change to shiro? 2. Is Power Herald better than Power Renegade( ik renegade has a meta condi build going rn but im more into power builds) 3. Are eagle runes better than scholar?
Hey! So 1) It's probably better to pre-cast for general boon uptime, but for simplicity just spamming them at the start is important because you won't stack up enough Quickness otherwise! Sword 5 is more damage than Sword 3 generally (Sword 3 also repositions you which can screw you over) and it's good to hold it to have a free evade at clutch moments. 2) Both have their place - Herald is Quickness, Renegade is Alacrity. 3) Scholar runes generally better, but cost 10x the amount and you need to ensure you/your healers are on the ball so you don't dip under 90% HP :)

I tend to run a full Diviner armor set and Zerker weapons. My Backpack is Zerker and all my accessories and neckless are a mix of Zerker and Diviner depending on what feels comfortable. With my runes and gear, I have between 60-80 percent Boon Duration, not including Glint's Facet of Nature buff. Might be overkill but its not bad DPS and I can keep Quickness up through Shiro till I can switch back to Glint to do it all over again.
I love Herald, and Rev in general, but I agree I am not a fan of the "spam it on cd" playstyle. Utility should be used situationally, the fact that you can just blow it whenever takes a lot out of the spec and the overall gameplay for me for multiple class specs. As someone who has mained engie for years, it's degusting to see what the Mechanist has brought about, and sadly that seems to be a trend currently. Still love the game, just wish they weren't moving in this direction.
Herald as Quickdps is pretty alright, but has a hard time keeping up with Firebrand, given that it has no utility like stability, pulls or projectile reflects. Herald as Quickheal is pretty bad, given that you basically do not heal at all in Glint stance (except for a bit of regeneration) and only heal a bit in Ventari stance. Theres really no upside to running a Quickheal Herald + AlacDPS over HealAlacMechanist + QuickDps Firebrand, except for maybe projectile defense with Ventari bubble - But then you would be better off by just running a Heal Firebrand and an Alac Revenant with Ventari.
In my honest opinion ANet has to move the Tempest Alacrity to Tempestuous Aria trait giving 5 seconds Alacrity instead of Might. The simplest and easiest fix which is most balanced. I say this because you talk how noob friendly Herald is, while that is true I believe that if they made this chance the Tempest would be as noob friendly as Herald but also be better at just healing 😁 You take Heal Tempest for Elemental Bastion, if you don't take Elemental Bastion then what is the justification for playing Heal Alac Tempest? Oh wait that would be Core Elementalist taking Tempest just for Alacrity -.- you will have better luck as Mechnaist, Druid, Specter or Renegade as Alac Heal. I fear that ANet actually wants to just brake Elementalist's players and found the best way to hurt support Tempest lovers 😭
I agree - I'm a bit sad Alac wasn't rolled into Elemental Bastion. The Aura-mancer playstyle of Tempest was it's main draw to me, there's really cool interactions there, provides a great skill ceiling but also a low skill floor. Hope they revisit this change, but that's for a whole other video :P
@@BloomHD I have spend perhaps 1000 hours now playing support builds in GW2 (beside heal Revenants perhaps) and after thinking about the possible ways Elementalist could give Alacrity and how they still can fix it here is my opinion. No, Elemental Bastion should NOT get Alacrity as Auras are hard to balance thanks to Water Trait sharing auras 😅 I think best option which would also make most sense even if they did it now is to give Tempestuous Aria the Alacrity so the Souths specifically give the Alacrity. a Quick fixes to silence 90% of critic is to either make you pules Alac when you channel overload OR more the Alac when you start overloading so you can chance it and you can still upkeep Alac 😂 They 100% have to move the Alac to other trait if they want to have Healthy Tempest and not this current thing. Yes on paper having the choice between 7% more dps or Alacrity sounds good but they forgot Heal Tempest needing Elemental Bastion. On top of that having the Alac on Tempestuous Aria would make it compete with Stability on overload which in PvP is a strong option. on Supports you would have to choose Vigor/Regen or Alacrity and DPS would lose some dps because they now have to cast healign skill and two souths 🤔 tough I think Condi Tempest could double tip on fire south but they would lose Fire signet and still have to cast Healing south to upkeep Alac ... that is the math I came to. with the cooldowns and 5s Alacrity you would need to cast healing south as well the two lowest cooldown souths offcooldown to upkeep peram alac as DPS which is less dps than just doing dps rotation so I don't understand why they FORCE the choice to the tarits? It also hurts the Tempest because you already have to make hard choice when it came to Weapons and Traits 😉 oh I know thing or two but some people don't -.- Weapons; Dagger: Fire and Water 2 are great filler skills for healing/dps. Earth has additional Toughness you must be mindful but you can use it in some cases to tank bit more dmg, in Fractals it is no brain upkeep skill for added survibility on already highly survivable build. Staff: Probably best healing thanks to Water but with new Alac you can't camp water :< with the idea of Tempestuous Aria making souths give Alac you could camp water and give most a lot of boons beisde might and quickness which now days is easier to gain like having few power mechanics using rifle for that sweet might and quick herald dps making is simple might quickness stability combination 🤤 Horn: Best over all for Tempest and used always on PvE as it shares the might and extends the boons while having some CC and other neat stuff and good damage. Arcane is best healing via Water+Dodge and you can do combos like Dagger/Horn Water 5 3 F4 Dodge is going to double blast the water field for extra healing 😉 but these traits also offer you Revival Well which is super good AND self sustain via changing elements heal you. Air is usually the defult where you now give permanent Fury and Swiftness and can lower the cooldowns of Glyphs as you might use Glyph of Renewal for Reviving or Glyph of Elemental if you don't need Rebound! both being good elite skills in my eyes. Earth is gives you easy permanent protection which is also recomended for new players for reasons it makes the builds super easy. How so? Auramancer running Earth gives stability to 5 targets when attuning to earth, tough currently never used because Alacrity and how it is if we assumed my idea of Alacrity you would Camp water and over load Fire for Might while running Dagger/Horn and when you needed stability you would swap to Earth and use horn 4 to extend the duration and you could also dagger 3 for ~3k healing and then swap to either Fire Water or Air if nothing else and in Air you can easily Dagger 3 for healing and air horn has some CC On top of ALL those choices you have to make we are now asked to play Heal Tempest without Elemental Bastion giving up ½ of our healing :< with lack of Stab/Aegis we are literally worst healer now. I think it would only be fair because how much choices Heal Tempest has to make ... if you want to make the dps loss bigger just make Core Elementalist skills stronger. Power Tempest has to choose either Conjure Lighting Hammer or Glyph of Storms 😉 Condi Tempest is only losing Fire Signet but has to use the healing skill so lower dps? because you can't do anything while using the long cast of Wash the Pain Away. As Healer it does not feel so bad but having to mix that to the DPS rotation would feel bit bad :) Core Elementalist should get group stability and aegis so Waver, Catalyst and Tempest all could get some love ;) My idea would be to rework Arcane Shield is now 5 target Aegis 3 stacks 5s duration with 35s cooldown. No stunbrake and rework the cantrips blocks to Aegis to make it more universal. And for Stab I would rework Earth Armor which currently also is stun brake with 10stacks of stab? Just make it give 3 stability to 5 targets with 3s duration and 35s coodlown. Conjure Weapons I would want to rework also 🤔 I don't know if this is a good idea but how about you conjure yourself a weapon and when you weapon swap you start 30s cooldown on them instead of when you use the ability you drop a weapon on the ground as well on yoursel and it has currently 60s cooldown. This would make it simpler to use and easier to balance and it would still fit well to all the dps rotations and just generally be better... you would lose the potential for another player using the conjure weapon but I think 99 out of 99 times no one else shold pick it up 🤔 but I did think that you could conjure fire GW share with another Elementalist making it "better" ... So why not just make it personal skill giving you access to new weapon set like Weapon kits on Engineer but with 30s cooldown when you drop them away? That would make them more appealing in my opinion AND lower the player skill required to play already hard class 🤤 I don't think this would be too much pandering to masses? 😁 What do you think, beside my Dyslexia causing million mistakes while writing and me being unable to make this shorter :d I could talk about Tempest for hours with if you wanted 😂 I love Tempest. and at some point I hope to play Heal Herald also but lack of stability because only two stances makes it ... interesting.
I was very happy before quickness was introduced, now I can't play without it, the normal attack speed is too slow and now I only play specs and builds that I can mantain 100% quickness, it's terrible.
That sounds so incredibly boring. So sad. I was hoping herald could have some cool gameplay, as I like the idea of revenant and I like shields wielding chars. But just mindlessly spamming, not even swapping stuff...wtf, that's way too boring. I've only played ele so far, but that class feels perfect. I'd love an alt to have some variety, but something with the same amount of involvement as ele.
Not good advice for New players. New players look into necromancer. Pet Master. Yes necromancer it's really good. Playing for 8yrs. Necromancer it's best pet 🐶 masters. This is best class for beginners. Pet Master necromancer it's best for beginners.
Sadly, a lot of game company devs seem to do that. I'd say it's the twin sister to "nerf the strong to make the weak look better" rather than "buff the weak to be strong, too!"

Who's Harold?
if ony revenant had a pvp dps build now...
oh hello snape xD
Thank you for some non mech advocacy!
I would still prefer a Heal Druid and Firebrand combo for support thy are meta for a reason
Destryoying one spec to make others popular typical anet/ncsoft.
Sadly, a lot of game company devs seem to do that.
I'd say it's the twin sister to "nerf the strong to make the weak look better" rather than "buff the weak to be strong, too!"
