  • Back out playing together again and it feels so good! Here’s a clip of us jamming out to 'Crossroads' by Cream 🤘🏼
    Lyrics:
I went down to the crossroads
    Fell down on my knees
    Down to the crossroads
    Fell down on my knees
Asked the Lord above for mercy
    Take me, if you please
I went down to the crossroads
    Tried to flag a ride
    Down to the crossroads
    Tried to flag a ride
    Nobody seemed to know me
    Everybody passed me by
Well, I'm going down to Rosedale
Take my rider by my side
    Going down to Rosedale
Take my rider by my side
We can still borrow a house, baby
    On the riverside
    Going down to Rosedale
Take my rider by my side
    Going down to Rosedale
Take my rider by my side
We can still borrow a house, baby
    On the riverside
You can run, you can run
Tell my friend boy Willie Brown
    Run, you can run
Tell my friend boy Willie Brown
And I'm standing at the crossroads
    Believe I'm sinking down
Eric Clapton, please, oh (thank you)

I watched Cream at the Albert Hall doing this is 68 and again at their reunion gig. I am stunned by how close this band is to Cream. Orla's solos are very Claptonesque...very controlled and yet hugely creative. Mollie's bass playing is unreal. If she was using a fretless bass, I would struggle to tell the difference between her and Jack. And Mamie, like Ginger, keeps it all together. This is a seriously good band and it can only be a question of time before they achieve super-stardom. .

    • @robinblackmoor8732
      @robinblackmoor8732 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Yeah, playing a fretless bass is hard, and I don't think it would have added much to this song. That was a good bass line she played.

Exactly. To refer to her solo as 'creative' as another commenter did is ridiculous. They're very good, but that was paint by the numbers guitar playing. Not only that the departure part where Clapton, Bruce and Baker went crazy is obviously beyond this band's reach. Nothing wrong with that, but safe to say Fanny, The Bangles, Joan Jett, Susie Quatro, Hole or Zepperella aren't looking over their shoulders.

PLEASE stop comparing them to the virtuosity of The Cream members.
The important things to consider here are:
1- They do a very good rendition of this Blues classic.
    2- They are good players.
3- They have style & dress very well.
    4- They are very young.
5- They all are super Cute & Pretty.
6- And, MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT´S OBVIOUS THEY ARE ENJOYING A LOT, REALLY APPRECIATING WHAT THEY ARE PLAYING.
    So....., ¡¡Way to go, girls!!

John. I think it would rightly be an open air concert if it were a planned event for their fans. It’s legit busking if they set up their instruments without license or permission on the street with no plan except to practice, advertise or entertain for just the generous patronage of passers by. Well done either way, though.
