Great video helped me doing my replacement. Just want to add installation of new mirror wiring is tricky. On inside of door frame is 3 black rubber grommet's, simply remove these and with window down you can see the hole that wiring has to pass through so not obstructing the window from up/dn movement. I fed a cable tie through the hole and was able to secure the wiring from mirror to pull right through and out grommit hole and feed it properly in the opening (white plastic cutout) it should be in through the inside of the door . Beautiful video. Thank you! I followed it and had success. There are some omissions. This video omits the rethreading of the harness, which is tricky. It also omits that he left a lot of broken pop fasteners on the door that would have to be removed to reinstall. I left 7 broken fasteners in the door when I popped this panel. About half of those had intact heads, while the rest broke off an edge. I removed old ones by getting between the metal and fasteners with utility blade to get an edge up, then using some harbor freight yellow plastic trim tools to get under completely and pop them. Even the ones with edges missing can be reused if you just turn them when you put them back on the panel. You can otherwise probably buy 100 on ebay or Amazon for a few bucks.
Great video. My cx3 hit a snag because the cable for the mirror was tucked behind the molding for the window, so I actually had to take the entire interior black part of the door off, so that I could shimmy it down enough to replace it. That’s not in the vid. Should be done before minute 4:35.
this video skips a major part. How do you get the control wire for the mirror housing unwrapped and re-wrapped around the window rail?? This video show that the wire goes straight through the door and that is not how it actually works. if you are going to post a tutorial, make sure to include all parts of the install and reinstall.

I used Mason line. Tie off the white male connector before you remove mirror. The line will pull through when you extract the old harness. To install new harness, tie off the end of the Mason line to the base of your new male connector. Wrap with electrical tape so string pulls at the tip. Pretty easy (well, not too bad) to work the new harness back through. I reused some of sticky foam wrap from the old harness. Came off in 2-3 sticky pieces, but good enough to work again.

Can we replace only the motor / actuator part? Is it removable?
