@J Dang seems like you got nothing from watching the video... What he pointed out is in fact relevant. The theme behind the motto of "Judge less, help more" is being a good person, and acting towards others as you'd want to be treated. So if anyone could be a minority in another country- knowing that would increase one's likelihood of empathizing w/ & helping others. Furthermore, your pseudo-intellectual babble impresses no one. There are thousands like you, still trying to defend the status-quo... and for what? Acting like guard dogs for your corporate masters. Why do you point out things with such hubris? Other errors in your comments; English & European & white aren't used interchangeably. Most Europeans don't identify as "white", that's Americans & aussies. Same way Africans for continent, & black for those abroad. What's your pedigree?

Love all his speeches!! I learned a lot of speech skills from his fortune cookie speech. Never get tired of it. Hopefully, one day I could stand on the stage with you!!
Saw the top 3 finishers and liked this one the most, although I saw this one the first so may have been biased because of that. Mic issues notwithstanding, though, I found this talk the most interesting, the speaker the most engaging, and the conclusion the most satisfying. Was a bit disappointed when I saw the top two finishers afterwards as I was expecting something at least as impressive. Good job Kwong-o!

Hi everyone.... His whole speech was in present tense but in the beginning he did say the story was happened in 2001..isn’t past tense should be used? is there anyone can explain... sorry for my bad English.
I'll admit, when compared to the other 2 contestants, then my passion does look a little lower. In my mind I wanted to have a conversation with the audience, so toned down my energy. Something for me to think about
Well done, Kwong. I think it's important that you remain authentic - true to yourself and to the objectives of your speech. Theatrics don't always work.
@@kwongyueyang I really feel a little bit boring with these kind of story like "pollution/noodles/fortunate cookie (there is no such thing in China)". I don't know your parents background, but I totally understand your parents generation moved out mainland China/Hong Kong/ or other places because of the poverty and isolation of China by western countries, and also that's the reason they didn't want you to learn to speak Mandarin, but now, which turns out to be a huge mistake, right? No one is going to brainwash you. I am in EU now, and not interested to get involved with local 2nd Asian originated from China (Chinese is not a race).

great talk with nice humor, even though the story needs a bit polish - as Beijing International airport has English as the second line on every sign. :)
Hey David, Kwang graduated from University in 2002. That was about 18 years ago. So back then it might be possible that China haven't adopted English that extensively yet..
Is a public speaking competition impromptu and improvised on the spot? Or are the contestants given a specific time frame to prepare for their speeches?
People like you find fault in everything....who give a fuck if he improvised or not! Now you're going to judge me, too??.....LOL. The take away from his speech is.. JUDGE LESS, HELP MORE".
I feel his other speeches like the fortune cookie and four words are better than this one. I don’t find the humor that funny on this speech and it seems to bore me out a bit with the long boring setting of being on the plane with a lot of self-thoughts throughout rather than progressing the story (there really isn’t much of a story... if it progress faster, this speech will be like 4min long). I like creativity and crafting new speeches, but it is sad that the Indian guy who won 2 years ago just re-used his old speech and won... so may want to just reuse your old speech next time if you can’t come up with a better one.
Is this the 3rd best the world can do? Unlikely .... Unfortunately I’m judging Toastmasters.... toastmasters is good for people learning to speak in public and getting the initial fright out of them but they have no right to be conducting such events and no right to award people best speakers when you can find better speakers dime a dozen

I can't help but notice that top three speakers all spoke in one way or another about acceptance, irrespective of any barrier.
