- Also known as Aspiras Palispis Highway but famously known as Marcos Highway. This time we traverse Marcos Highway going back to La Union towards Manila. The safer choice of the three routes we featured, for inexperience drivers Marcos Highway is a beginners route for you. The only problem encountered here are the trucks as tis route is more of a truck route. Got confused on the intersection of Manila and Agoo area.
Road Condition - Paved Roads
Drive thrill - Safe and relaxed driving. Wide curves. Patience is virtue with trucks
Security - there are many houses and small towns along the road

Marcos highway is indeed the best road to go to and from Baguio:
1) more gentle curves (less headache/dizziness for passengers)
2) wider lanes, plus some areas have two-lanes going uphill, so you can safely pass slow trucks/vehicles
3) not too many steep inclines and hairpin turns (ideal for small displacement engines)
4) all-weather road, lesser incidents of landslides
Downsides:
1) there are a lot of slow moving traffic especially buses and trailer trucks
2) slightly longer route
I used to pass Kennon Road almost always when going to our annual vacation in Baguio, but now I enjoy Marcos Hwy a lot (more relaxing and safer drive). :)

Marcos Highway is a maganda way to see the northern mountains of Luzon because of its breathtaking scenery, especially on the Badiwan viaduct!!!! Even the landscape changed as you entered Pangasinan. I have to admit you made a very interesting video of traversing through the mountains. Salamat once again!!!!!

Last time I was there was on a Victory Liner decades ago. The Marcos head was still intact then. Other that that, it's still much as I remember. Thanks for the memories! :)

Share ko lang ang napansin ko sa 3 access road papuntang Baguio. Sa Kennon Road, limited lang ang small towns sa paligid ng kalsada.Di kagaya sa Marcos Highway at Naguilian Road na mas maraming nakatayong mga bahay at small towns sa paligid ng kalsada.

dmitrivalencia oo nga eh, prone to landslide and falling rocks kasi ang kennon road kumpara sa Marcos Highway at Naguilian Road. Kung taga-benguet ako, iiwasan ko rin ang tumira along Kennon Road.

Baguio City nasa Abril 21, 1980, we went sa ang Kennon Lansangan. Watching ang Marcos highway, sa much better
safer than Kennon Lansangan.

I prefer this route, Marcos Hiway than Kennon road, the scenic view is more enjoyable and pleasant to see let alone the road is a bit more wider than Kennon road.

There is Two Marcos Highway
1) In Marikina-Infanta Road or MaRiLaQue Hwy That where I Live.. Like in Boso Boso our Address is km 35.5 Marcos Highway Boso boso Antipolo City
2) In Baguio- La Union Road Going to Baguio City

I think it is too much for those pesky countryman used the road to dry their rice grains. The concerned ministry should look into some areas to implement the law for road safety.

Passing there now isn't that nice anymore.... The road became worse especially going up and for the fact that tourists with vibranium for their heads keep on passing at the side even if it's alanganin.... Hayysss

+Lee Beato welcome home sir! unfortunately 4th quarter of the year is always the critical period for my other life. Madali lang po pumunta ng Baler and there are cheap stay in along Sabang Beach pero kaya kahit 3 days lang sa Baler if you are not that much into surfing. Bring your dslr btw para sa scenic views, Baler is small, kaya nga lakarin lang yun buong lugar to check everything and also its best you get the local day tour to Dicasalarin para you can see the other beautiful views. Next time I will be going there I would like to check the upper portion of Aurora. Please pass the Pantabangan route dahil yun Bongabon di pa ata ganun ka maayos at delikado.

tweet: What kind of a road is that - it looks like a circus. There's no orange median line to separate both traffic going in opposite directions. That is one crazy road - too dangerous to pedestrians. The road is very narrow with parked cars on roadside. Go ahead and demolish the roadside old buildings and widen the roads -- people's safety is worth more than those old buildings. Old buildings are not worth saving anyway -- they must go! One option is to build a new flyover/freeway above this very busy road. It does look like a 3rd world -- road needs organization. A great project in the New Year 2020! be blessed.
SO WHY DID THEY CALL IT MARCOS HIGHWAY???? Hmmm?? CAN'T FIND ONE GOOD REASON. How about renaming it FREEDOM HIGHWAY or better PEOPLE POWER FREEWAY? Thats definitely much more appropriate.

They called it marcos highway before because during former president marcos time he developed the road and also they build a face of him along the mountains which eventually be destroyed last 2004 due to dynamite bombing
