Willie D spoke to VladTV about the frustrations involved behind the scenes of setting up the last Geto Boys tour before Bushwick Bill passed away. He explained that managers and publicists first started stepping in, but Willie D made it clear that the group members have always communicated between themselves without the help of others.
In addition, Willie D revealed that Bushwick Bill had a problem with the tour being called "The Beginning of a Long Goodbye," which Bill felt was about his cancer diagnosis. After Willie D explained to him in person that the tour name didn't have to do with his cancer, Bill agreed, only to turn around and be defiant about calling the tour "F*** Cancer." Bushwick provided a good reason why the name of the tour should be changed though: I didn't like the title. Simple. It didn't speak life into my situation, but instead promoted the idea of impending death. I believe in the power of the tongue and speaking things into existence (whether you intend to or not.) If the tour was speaking life and good health, cool. But if I got on stage and performed, then I’m basically agreeing that I’m starting a journey on a "long goodbye". That’s not the energy I want to put out there. I refuse to even entertain that thought. And anyone who genuinely cares about me wouldn’t support nothing of that nature either.

He was scared.. understandably so but he actually gave his illness more power over him by fighting with his group mates out of fear instead of enjoying his last days on tour. I had tickets to see them and it would have been my first time ever seeing the Geto Boys and I was crushed when the tour was cancelled then again when Bill passed. Just a shame the shows didn't happen for the fans' sake.
