    Gampi Tissue is a very thin silk tissue paper that “disappears” when applied with gloss medium. I stamp on the tissue and then adhere this to a textured surface. It is also a wonderful way to encase grasses, petals or other materials and then cut them up and add to your art.

    I bought expensive gampi paper to do transfers on some art projects. It works great, but I was looking for a cheaper alternative. It felt the same to me like the old tissue dress patterns, so I pulled out one of my old ones and tried it. IT WORKS GREAT! I even love the extra selvage and cut lines.

      I love using old dress patterns as well. The Gampi I get is under $3 a sheet.

    I am a new subscriber and have been binge watching your videos. They are so fun and informative. I usually do pet portraits in oil paint but love doing this kind of experimental fun art. It is so relaxing and refreshing. Thank you!

    Like your videos but I would like to suggest that you show more finishes pieces with the gampi paper. I would like to see what a composition with gampi and grasses looks like.

      Hi Franca-I have a finished piece in one of my books. I can't post it here but if you are on IG or FB I could send you an image. I have been posting more finished pieces for the videos. Thanks for your feedback.

    Hi Sandra, I love this panel. Awesome! The 1st technique with the stamped gampi, I do the same techique with a nice deli paper. What have you experienced is the difference between these 2 papers with this technique? Pros/cons with either paper? I will experiment with embedding textures in my deli paper as you have done with gampi. I never thought of doing that. I have a small collection of fibers I enjoy working with. But I can see doing this with delicate grasses, leaves, flowers too. Thanks for sharing!

      You are welcome. I find the Gampi is more transparent and stronger than the deli sheets. The Gampi, or silk tissue, is like fabric in that it will tear along the fiber.

    One question is how does Gampi tissue differ from Deli paper, tissue paper or used tea bag in terms of using within a collage? with stamping and adhering?
    PS I'd also love a session on uses of metallics: ways to add gold, metalic paints, to get a shimmer, to capture light

    • @SandraDuranWilson
      @SandraDuranWilson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Vicki-Gampi tissue is unique in its transparency when adhered with a gloss medium and its strength. If you try this with tissue paper it will fall apart when you apply the gloss medium. Deli paper will not be nearly as transparent and tea bags not at all. I suggest you really experiment with all the different papers because I know I use all of them in my work for different purposes.
      I have an episode coming up in a few weeks on mixing metallics using interference paints and I have an episode planned for the late summer using metal leaf. If you want more in depth lessons please check out all my online classes at www.AwakeningYourCreativeSoul.com
      Thanks for watching.

    Hi Sandra, really interesting interesting and inspiring tutorials you give. Thank you. Would you please tell me the name of the stamp you used in this one. Thanks and best wishes.

      @SandraDuranWilson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you liked this. I have had the stamp for many years and I am not sure it is still around. It doesn't have a name on it but I did buy it at Michaels. I hope that helps. I did a search but didn't find it. There were lots of other great ones though. I searched using circles and spirals.

      @@SandraDuranWilson Thank you for your reply, I'm smiling. I'm across the world, so Michael's isn't an option, but thanks for the hint re a search. All best wishes.
