@mmac3353 The Milroe throw was payback for Kick SIX. As good as Auburn played that night, it's almost inconceivable that they lose on a 4th and goal from the 31
Yeah... those great plays are memory makers. For the Kick Six, I was driving on I-20E south of Tuscaloosa about 20 miles (heading towards Tuscaloosa, which is one of my regular break stops) when it happened. I was listening to the game on the radio.
I don't think you realized the Tennessee Georgia game in the beginning was the same game. Georgia scored with minimal seconds left and Vols went and scored with only 4 seconds left.
And then immediately lost 3 games in a row and smoked by Vandy and had an adrenaline fueled win vs Nebraska in the music city bowl😂 Which launched them into the 2017 season where they lost 8 games for the first time since joining the SEC in 1932😂
The LSU-Texas A&M Game was high scoring because they played multiple overtimes; in college football, overtimes consist of alternating attempts to score from close by both teams, sort of like penalty kicks. So, that can inflate scores alot, esp. if they go into several overtimes, like these two did here.
A good portion of these were from just last year. Every new season of wall-to-wall college football Saturdays is virtually guaranteed to add several new iconic moments to the lore. That's the exciting thing about live sports in general. You have no idea what the immediate future might hold when you first tune in. You might get to see a great contest with a great finish, you might see disaster, you might see oddities, but whatever happens it always feels more rewarding when you get to see it unfold before your very eyes in real time.
Had to watch this to see if our LSU Tigers were in it! I remember that last game with the crazy OT counts! That was intense! I’m hoping on part 2 that there’s the game with Auburn and Alabama where there’s a surprise play in the last several seconds! My husband and I were at a pizza place where that game was playing. Being that LSU and Alabama are huge rivals, we were al rooting Auburn! Lol
I used to watch Australian rules football when espn was still begging for content on late nights...never figured out the rules, but it was fun to watch!
College Football season is almost here. A couple weeks after the Olympics on August 31st starts the first full Saturday of college football and it continues every Saturday until the end of November. You should see if you can catch some of the games live.
These are two things I forgot about when you watched the ACC video: 1. Clemson (Tigers) in South Carolina-when you get close to their exit on the interstate highway, there are huge orange paw prints along the highway, leading you to the exit. 2. Duke University-you said you recognized the name-Duke typically has an excellent basketball team which goes the national playoffs frequently (their football team is typically bad). If you’ve watched the movie “Mama Mia” one of the daughter’s friends is wearing a Duke sweatshirt.
The Oklahoma vs Texas rivalry game for the 2020, 2021, and 2023 season are among the best games of that 100-ish year old rivalry. Wheels does the best highlights. One of the top 2 rivalries in college football.
The LSU-Texas A&M game was so long that they actually changed the overtime rules soon after. At the time, the rules for OT were: Each team gets one possession from 25 yards out, which lasts until they lose possession or score. If both teams get the same score, do it again until they don't (the teams swap order of their possessions for each OT period). Starting with the 3rd OT, if you score a touchdown, you must attempt a 2-point conversion (you can't kick the extra point); that makes it more likely that the scores won't match and the game will end. This wasn't the first game to go 7OT, but they were not at all common (I think it was the fourth ever?). Now the rules are: you can't kick the extra point in the 2nd OT, and if it goes to a 3rd, each overtime period from there on is just a single play from 3 yards out (a 2-point conversion attempt) for each team. With the new rules, one game managed to make it as far as *nine* overtime periods, but it was still an hour shorter than the LSU-A&M marathon.
Dude... I almost gave you a dislike on this one for having the Georgia Auburn game up at 0:58 in the video. Such a traumatic memory and I had it almost completely blocked from my mind... 🤣
Hey, come on, y'all have beaten/humiliated us plenty of times! I was on the sidelines that night from the clip, so for me, it is a good memory. Not as good as Kick Six, but still good. Even though I bleed orange and blue, I do think y'all have an awesome band, a beautiful campus and UGA is just precious. Take care. WDE.
@@auburnkim1989 It's a shame that video didn't have Kick Six... that's one of my favorite memories in all my years watching this game! I remember standing in a Best Buy in Montgomery when Kick Six happened - every customer in the store was in the TV section watching it unfold. The entire store erupted in cheers and groans (depending on their hat, of course) afterwards. BTW, awesome profile pic with Sir Charles!
So there's two that I really expected to see and didn't, both from fierce rivalry games: 1. Alabama-Auburn, The Kick Six. Don't remember what year but it was sometime in the 2010s 2. 1982, Stanford-Cal, The Play. The absolute most ridiculous, chaotic finish to a college football game and arguably to any US sporting event ever.

The key to these is to look at the score & time on the clock. They’re not just big plays; most are “time running out” last ditch plays (or drives in a few cases). Or huge comebacks.

The game of aggies v lsu made the NCAA change the rules so that a game like that couldn’t happen again. I get it from a tv time standpoint, but i wish it could’ve stayed with the previous rules. Also need to watch the highlight/game replay of it
On that first play the coach likely chewed the qb out big time for that pass. That wasn't a good decision at all. They were winning. In decent position and if he just takes the loss are fine. He throws the ball up for grabs basically blind. Gets lucky his guy came down with it. If he just takes the sack they punt the ball away and the other team gets the ball 40 yards down field and needs a long drive to tie it. If it gets intercepted they get the ball there it's a shorter distance to score potentially very short or a tie game depending on the return.

Hey Lyle, I'm new to your channel and I would like to get your reaction to like the NFL biggest hits or even college biggest hits. And if you kind of want to get impressed, why don't you look at the best power running backs in the NFL.
So the thing with the LSU Texas A&M game is that this was all overtime. Meaning it’s not make sure you’re up at the end, it’s score AND go for 2 and if you can’t, you lose. ONE mistake, not even a mistake but just a failure to score and you lose. They kept it going for 7 overtime’s back and forth. Lsu scores, goes for 2. Gets it. The Aggies score go for 2 and get it. The crazier thing is that with the going for 2, you have ONE chance. One single play. You don’t get 4 downs when going for 2. You get one. And if you don’t get it, you damn well better pray the other team doesn’t either. And they both got it.
They've changed the rules and there won't be 7 overtimes any longer. I don't really like this last change because they pretty quickly switch to just one "try" after another until once team fails to make it.
4th and 18, Marshall throws up a prayer, Louis caught it on the Deflecion! Touchdown AUBURN!! Two weeks later There goes Davis! Davis is going to run it all the way back! That last one was not a good game. Everyone knows Texas A&M was given that, all the chances they got after that catch was NOT a catch, the ball did hit the ground. So whoever made that video didn’t make it right. Not to mention Clemson didn’t play anyone, everyone knows Clemson don’t have a tough schedule and none of those games should have been close, except for the refs helping them beat Kentucky.

Tennessee got so hyped to beat a 5 loss team on a Hail Mary that they lost the next three games and got smoked by Vanderbilt 😂 And then the vid maker puts a UF Hail Mary right after😂
This is a terrible highlight video. These were definitely NOT the "best game winners of all time". Not even close. They didn't even show "the band is on the field".
