    FYI this Vivitar capture card bypasses HDCP encryption. I tested with a Sony Blu-ray player and I was able to record with it.

      @@TheBikemaster94 Yes, the picture is just fine for this purpose and also for recording stuff from HDMI streaming dongles such as Roku boxes, Fire Sticks, etc. as well.

    Just a (hopefully) constructive comment...slow down a little, don't talk 80 miles/hr in your videos.

    Seems to work pretty well video wise in obs but the sound is static , im just playing with it to see if i could use it to stream lol not a permanent thing lol

    To be completely fair.. the screen tearing is just a settings issue. The capture card is 60fps it's not meant to accept signals from say a 144hz monitor or anything.

    • @WarAuthority
      @WarAuthority 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's now how signal capture works.

      @@gamathroy Your argument in itself doesn't make sense when you're talking about the hz of a monitor. The device itself is capturing and re-encoding the stream, and that device itself sets the output.If the capture card doesn't have the power for optimal streaming.. which this is a cheap-o $20 usb capture card you're getting not a whole lot of bang for buck per-se.

    • @gamathroy
      @gamathroy 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@WarAuthority Tbf I didn't actually have a argument just a general statement.. I've tried a few different capture cards.. and all of them have screen tearing coming from 144hz to 60hz.. All 3 of them was solved by syncing to my capture card.. If the capture card's refresh rate is lower than the source video's frame rate, it could drop frames or display them poorly.. which would give screen tearing. SOME cards might do that themselves(I have no idea).. but not in this case.

    I have the exact same capture card. No matter what i do, i just can't do 1080p 60fps. It can do 60fps on 720p. But the box say 1080p 60fps. Btw, i connected it to my usb 3.2 ports on my laptop. Do you have this problem?

    • @prestonlogan
      @prestonlogan 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I know this is a little late, but I believe the 1080p 60fps only works through the included USB C dongle.

    So, here's the question I have now. Is it worth paying the (almost double in my currency, yikes) for the USB 3 capture card if I can't guarantee I'll have access to USB 3 on my device? Or just stick with the Vivitar one?

      You would need a mic connected to your PC, then add the mic as an audio source in OBS.

    Thanks for putting this on the radar I didn't know Walmart carried this kind of thing. I saw that instead of using a HDMI splitter you're plugging things in backwards to the 5-in 1-out HDMI switch. Does that really work, or was it a mistake? Thanks for the info

    • @TechGrant
      @TechGrant  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Np man, that part with the HDMI splitter was an example. This would work amzn.to/3Y0qEva One hdmi in for your device you want to capture and 2 hdmi out for a monitor and the capture card.

      You are not wrong there. You're going to need a HDMI splitter if you want to game with it. So you can send one input from the game console or pc to the input of the splitter. Then one of the outputs to HDMI in on the capture card then another one to you monitor to game on.

    How do I get more fps in rust I have a gtx 1660 and I run 60 fps

    • @TechGrant
      @TechGrant  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Rust is a demanding game. Your most likely limited due to your current pc specs. If you want good fps from that game, you're going to need a better gpu, like 3060 or higher, and an 8 core CPU. Keep in mind, Rust uses more CPU proformence than GPU.
