Difference Between Fill and Opacity in Photoshop and How to Exploit It

In simple language, the basic difference is this: opacity affects the whole layer (i.e. the layer along with all its attachments, like drop shadow, bevel and emboss, outer glow etc.), whereas, Fill affects just the layer and not it's attachments, i.e. Layer Styles.
This is a fundamental concept essential for both beginners and advanced Photoshop users as this can be extremely important especially when you are creating composites. Suppose, you just want to create a drop shadow without creating any object for adding a shade to a particular element. You can create any arbitrary object of the shape required and then take the Fill Away! This can also be useful for achieving specific text effects as discussed in the video.

I'll ask you what I've asked every Photoshop Guru who has done a Fill/Opacity tutorial. You have explained the basics very well, but here are my questions:
1) What is the difference in Fill and Opacity when using Blend Modes??? Especially when using Linear Dodge (Light?), Fill affects the end result far more pleasingly to the eye than does Opacity. No one has been able to answer past the basics, which you've covered here, why Fill and Opacity work differently in this example.
2) Also, when you use Fill to reduce a layer's opacity, it gives you a much finer result. Why is that?

I realised when you need to blend two or more images like to make it kinda see through, use fill and use opacity to control intensity of effects and modes. I never use opacity to blend layer
