To be fair the only reason why the fight was so soul-draining was the fact that all this time he refused to learn how to use shells... You know, the CORE of the game... In combat, and got rightfully hard-punished for it
That long range sniper crab enemy at the beginning was a very annoying enemy to face up against in that part if you go through the village normally. Asmon was so lucky to somehow glitch his way to open the gate on the other side to get to him easier last stream. At least this enemy doesn’t respawn once he’s killed. If he had to go through the village without the glitch while having to avoid all of that crab’s sniper shots, he’d be frustrated even more.
u gotta keep in mind asmon basicly did an entire extra zone before the mantis he was crazy overleveled for it in normal progression the blue mantis special attack almost oneshots

Well if he’s literally bad at doing it and doesn’t want to spend the time learning it, I don’t see why it’s a criticism for him not to parry. Plenty of people play dark souls without parrying. People can be bad, he just acknowledges it
@@Kerwell I think that's the point he was trying to make though, parry is timing so theoretically if his strength is timing he should have a better time overall with parry. Asmon basically says he should be good at it but he doesn't do it because he's bad at it... That said I do agree with you in the case of not wanting to do one thing over another due to comfort / ability and no one has the right to tell you what to do because it's "better" as every person has an easier or harder time doing one thing from another. One could say they should learn the mechanics earlier in the game too if they really wanted to get better but it's his playthrough, if he wants to beat his head against the wall instead of learning new mechanics that's his choice as is the viewers choice to watch or not watch.
I can't help but wonder what "Hide" would have done inside the ball shell on the flipper board in the last boss fight. I just thought Flipper game, where a ball shell is conveniently placed several times over inside the boss arena.

Main character actually called the supporting characters and npcs useless. Finally, a main character that says what the player is thinking. Based writing.
For survivability you need another shell with high def, for example made of glass. This will cut incoming damage dramatically even when you arent blocking. For now you got 40 defence (40% damage resistance), you can get 70-80 damage resistance shell, equip it with couple 10 def enchantments and get 90-100% damage resistance, which will make you life much much easier. Note: game made in such a way that this high def shells got very low shell hit points, which can be ignored having high RES stat which will make shell invulnerable for almost all damage except blue strikes and ofc you still have to avoid red strikes.
When u take the red high pressure water bubble and the blue low pressure water bubble and mix them together Imaginary Hermit technique: Hollow Shell (it has imaginary pressure instead of imaginary mass)

This game is awesome, but ill be honest asmon's build isnt amazing. this fight with topada is giga hard, and literally my build allowed me to chunk this dude for like 60% of his hp in one hit. Now that ive improved it a bit more i bet i could have 1 shot him. He should he using the red solo cup, use its shell ability, hammer strike, use royal wave to make enemies take more damage, AND use the skill where when you block the your next attack does more damage. I HAVE SPENT A TON ON EXTRA STOWAWAY SPOTS. i have 8 stowaway spots. im using pufferfin spike (+10 atk, -2 def), lugnut (+33% atk), shark tooth (+30% charged attack). you use the red solo cup shell ability (drunken claw. atks do more dmg, but your dodge is ass), royal wave the enemy to take more dmg, block an attack so your next attack does more dmg, and charge attack them. I literally can 1 shot bosses, and I'm only level 25!
So my girlfriend found the game hard...proceeded to the options, then next thing I knew the had a gun one shoting enemies 😅 I had NO IDEA this was an option
Bosses like Roland are difficult because they test a player's ability to effectively use all the game's mechanics. This is especially punishing for players who haven't practiced with all the mechanics.
I just wish we got a turn at some of those trash weapons. Which is a shame for a game that offers an incredible variety of almost everything else. Such a great concept but it feels incredibly limited in regards to the fork and only fork. Like when I saw a sword toothpick in the sand or a D battery just chilling, it's almost weird to me that they're just for decoration when if it were a potentual Shell it'd have 3 unique uses.

He says shit that makes me think he's very much like me in that I will use KB + Mouse on anything that even has the slightest bit of support but then he goes and assumes a game doesn't have good support because it's an "indie game" and doesn't try. I got this after watching a few mins of gameplay and it works on KB+M perfectly. FFS Asmongold.
