    Let us not forget that one time Desna nearly started an all out Planar War because she was a bit pissy one of the mortal priests was, well, I'd say tortured but that wouldn't do justice to what the demons of the Abyss did to him. And the Azatas were all 'YEAH, WAR!'. Desna and the Azatas may be tranquil and peaceful, but they are Chaotic, never forget that.
    Yet one more reason why Sarenrae is my favorite Goddess, as she was the only one capable of calming Desna down.

    Given this is the last chapter in your series about Empyreal Lords, I'd be sad if not for your reassurances that you have plenty more planar content coming. I always enjoy your deep dives into the imaginative and fantastical. Since you asked for opinions, I'm particularly looking forward to hearing about Qlippoths since the little I know makes it sound like their story is original to Pathfinder as opposed to having obvious analogies in other IPs.

    Wonderful video. I’m so glad to have this, especially for one my my (multitudinous) homebrew worlds where the Empyreal Lords are the main pantheons. Also, Payhfinder lore is so Rich’s be deep that it’s always a pleasure to learn more.
    I would love to see a video on the Psychopomp Demigods, but even more I’d like to request a video on the Celestials native to the material plane: the Garuda, the the Couatls, the Peri, Kirin (some of those may only be Celestials in DND), etc. And maybe a video on the Native Fiends like Rakshasas and Oni.

      I said in my other comments, but Remaster will drop alignments and I'm so ready for it. Forget alignments (edicts & anathemas, I agree quite useful) but figure out what the gods about and don't worry so much about which plane they live on or what the rules say about their alignment. The most fun I've had playing any kind of PnP RPG campaign was playing a Fetchling - Bard Dervish Dancer follower of Ashava. Yes I know this archetype is technically connected to Sarenrae, but it just fits really well with Ashava aswell. And if you ask your GM kindly he might allow you to use a Bladed Scraf instead of a Scimitar for some awesome fantasy like House of Flying Daggers (Echo Game Scene), and I'm thinking of another movie where the girl accually fights with with her scarves too but can't remember the name.

      I've actually just finished recording the audio on my first faction feature, which will be on the Firebrands. If people enjoy it I will do more - PFS, Aspis Consortium, Hellknights and many more I'm sure.

    • @Dyre_Wolf
      @Dyre_Wolf ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hellknights in a nutshell: pointy armor and alignments ranging from lawful lawful to lawful awful.
      But the Order of the Godclaw? That’s what’s really interesting. At face value, they follow just another pantheon, but the included deities are not represented as many outside the order would recognize. In fact, the relationship between the followers and the gods is almost reversed.
      Yes, the Godclaw does still have an ideology the followers should strive to embody, but that ideology is modeled on the Hellknights, with the different gods being almost rewritten to fit the narrative. Even visually, the gods are depicted in the likeness of Hellknights, rather than Hellknights adopting visual cues of their gods.
      And somehow, it works. The faithful can call upon the divine powers of the Godclaw as easily as followers of any other deity can call upon their own gods.
      So what’s the deal? Is it that the Order gets close enough, often enough, with a broad enough grouping of gods, that at least one of them is likely to care at any given time? Are some of the deities willing to accept the stray prayers of the group, without caring to correct anyone? Does that worship/responsibility get split between each of the member gods or do they take turns? The wiki suggests it could be the power of belief… but if belief alone gets the job done, without any actual need for the divine backing, then there wouldn’t have been any need for an Inheritor, would there?
      The grouping of the selected gods is already interesting enough, but there’s even more going on here.

    • @TheMythkeeper
      @TheMythkeeper  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dyre_Wolf There are a few named Pantheons in Pathfinder, and Godclaw is one of them. My assumption is that the gods are not so jealous of each other that if a person happens to pray to multiple deities they won't deny them power. If part of a formal trinity, they may offer them less power than they would a straight worshiper would get - but if you multiply that by 3 maybe it all nets out the same.

    I feel I should probably point out the Carnonose is actually a God from Celtic mythology. Of course, since most people know very little about the Celtic gods or myths, that's pretty much all I know about him.
    Although, I suppose it may be possible that, much like the giant pantheon who draws on some aspects of Norse mythology and the outer gods who take inspiration from H.P. Lovecraft, certain deities or characters on Galareon may take inspiration from one or several deities from mythology.
    Different name perhaps, maybe even a somewhat different appearance, but if you look hard enough you may find some similarities.

    I find it intresting that the names given to the patitioners of Heaven and Elysium are synonyms, yet the patitioners of Narvana don't follow that trend.

    • @TheMythkeeper
      @TheMythkeeper  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It seems like an error, doesn't it? I feel like the petitioners of Niravana should be called "the Pure" suggesting something innate in them rather than something that has occurred to them. But maybe that's the point, isn't it? Nirvana requires more introspection and work to achieve the right level of balance.

      Then again, considering the chosen do like to rollplay have governemnt titles, maybe this makes sense.
      ...
      But perhalps the Chosen have "*chosen* their own path?" Or their braging about being "chosen by God/prophacy." Honestly, either explaintion would work for chaotic good beings.

    I am not a fan of this creation. What is an Azata? They don't have a similar shape or a single characteristic physical feature. They sometimes simply look like humans, elves, ents, animals, angels, plants. Are they just chaotic good outsiders? Simply Chaotic Good elementals? Thematically, they are similar to fairies and angels, with nothing that makes Azata particularly stand out from the other two. It's not demon or devil where there's already lore behind them. Plus, devils, demons, psychopomps, aeons have somewhat distinctie thematic visuals within each grouping. They made an outsider grouping out of whole cloth, and it's neither cohesive nor unique/distinctive enough, visually or otherwise. It's probably why they don't feature prominently. Proteans and inevitables are better creations. Daemons are somewhat interesting.

    • @TheMythkeeper

      I think thats a fair criticism. Many of the types in Pathfinder could probably do with a slighly more consistent design aesthetic.

    Wow. There are a lot of goddesses and female empyreal lords in Pathfinder. Like about 90% of them. Granted that the overgoddes of Pathfinder setting is a woman. Still feels like a feminist power-fantasy. Video is good, though. It's the source material that is weird.

    • @TheMythkeeper
      @TheMythkeeper  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Few thoughts -
      1.) Some gender balance seems to depend on the outsider type. If you look at my Devils video you'll see that apart from the 4 Queens of the Night (only 4) the other 50+ of them (archdevils, dukes of hell, malebranche etc...) are pretty much all male.
      2.) Paizo is not trying to create a feminist power-fantasy, they're trying to create a setting that will appeal equally to male and female players, so that means making a concerted effort to include important female characters - maybe more than have historically appeared on our world.
      3.) Even despite this effort, there are plenty of places where you'll see more male characters than female characters. For example of the "powerful spellcasters of the world" - Nex, Geb, Tar-Baphon, Jaatembe and Hao Jin, only a single one (Hao Jin) is female. Two I guess if you include Baba Yaga, though its not clear if she is mortal or some other kind of entity.
      Anyway! My point is if you look for things to be upset by, you will find them. But if you recognize that the game is being built for many players (not just yourself) you'll realize you can focus your adventures in whatever parts of the world resonate with you and not focus on the parts that don't ring true for you.
