Seen a lot of these now, and it feels like a time machine watching them. I would love to go back and take a walk around. It's hard to connect modern Barnsley to these images because so much has changed. I was an '80s kid and it seems there was a massive change from 60s - 80s and not for the better, it looks like attitudes changed completely and pride in the areas people lived in went away. The images of Barnsley around the 1960 look a lot smarter than even 1969 where we can see Kes sets and locations. The nostalgia for a place I wasn't even a part of at the time is really amazing, but I can think back to my grandparents and parents who did. Thank you for doing these. They are essential to preserve what was.

Hi Stuart, watched all your videos and never commented before. Absolutely brilliant mate, the time and effort you've put into the pictures is outstanding. Fantastic 👍

Really impressive work Stuart. Brings a lump to my throat looking at these and remembering how industrial the town was back in the day. It was one of the key industrial hubs that drove Britain's rapid development during the Victorian period and beyond. The only other industrial towns on this scale I've seen recently are in China and the heavy pollution in those towns must have been the same as the good folk of Barnsley had to suffer for their livelihoods.
