REPORT: The Raptors Could SHOCK The League With OG Anunoby

- When the Toronto Raptors traded away OG Anunoby it was to protect themselves from his upcoming free agency, but even still they got a great return with RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley being returned alongside what would become the 31st overall pick. It was widely believed the New York Knicks would be able so easily retain OG Anunoby in free agency, but it is starting to become apparent that this will not be the case and the forward may now look to seriously test the market in free agency.
There is going to be a lineup of teams look to get OG’s signature and one of those teams could actually be the return to the Toronto Raptors. OG's still the best SF available and he had amazing chemistry with Scottie when pascal was injured, and that's with Schroeder at pg. A lineup of Quickly, Barret, OG, Scottie, Koloko/2024 drafted Center would be huge and physical.

I would give up Gary Trent Jr and Bruce Brown for OG in a second. To have him work with RJ, Quickley, Dick, and Barnes?? That'd be good.

Its a nice fantasy, but remember Scottie Barnes' is soon gonna get his max extension. Suddenly we end up w/ 3 max players and it restricts our flexibility to improve the roster when attempting to contend.
On the other hand, fleecing the knicks that hard kinda makes it worth LMAOOO.
And that's not a championship roster so it would be a bad move. Barnes, OG, Quickley n Barrett are not contenders.

We don't know what's going on. Maybe the Knicks are offering OG 25 mil because of his injury history and because they want to sign another star, Lebron? The Raps could offer 32mil. Pump the breaks Raps can't afford 40mil, but if the Knicks do spend 40 on OG that's a big win because it will hurt the Knicks long-term.

It's all about the aprons. OG stays if it's $40M. He's pushing it if it's $45M for a non all-star. We have to remember Hartenstein is going to push for his $15-20M. That makes the Knicks 2nd apron unless they decide to let Hartenstien or Bogdanovic go. Raptors could do it, they have enough space, even with Bruce Brown still on roster...but they'd still lack shooting that they would have to find elsewhere. It's Knincks, 76ers, Clippers, Raptors, Pistons and Thunder going in on this.

So the Raptors can not sign OG Anunoby for a full calendar year after he is traded. There’s like rules in place just in case for situations like this where someone trades assets for someone and the player just goes back. Would seem hella suspect.

The cap changes so much over the next 4 years 25 million will be close to mid level expectation. With the New CBA & media rights deal the cap will increase 10% per year for the 5 years guaranteed plus with 2-4 expansion teams coming at 6 billion per that about another 600 million per team. We are not far away from 80-100 per season players.

I would have love to see Siakam instead of OG. Siakam is a work horse. OG gets injured too much. If I were Masai, you need a vet that will lead the team and is consistent and healthy throughout season. How about bringing back Demar?

Siakam still have the ability to be somewhat mobile in transition and he's got great balance when going for layups, But his Vertical bounce is drastically gone. He's not capable of being a rim defender and he resisted all attempts to be the offball motion man, he didn't want to cross the court to set screens and make the back cuts to rim. Pascal wanted to be a isolation scorer from the top of the perimeter with his teammates flattened to the sidelines. That's never gonna work.

@@giovanni-ed7zqor they trade Poeltl and draft a center while also getting a healthy Koloko back. It's way easier to trade away Barret for cap saving then to acquire a 99th percentile physical defender who will stand infront of straight line drives at the elbow. This is a no brainer

I like OG, but the guy is fighting some injury ever year, and is never 100% when you need him in the playoffs. I can't imagine it gets any better as he ages. If I'm the raptors, unless he comes back on a sweetheart deal, I move on.
