Thankyou, not played trumpet in a while and realised quite quickly how out of practise my embouchure was. I was splitting notes and struggling to get 2nd space A :) these exercises and your others on the mouthpiece alone are excellent. slowly getting tone and sweetness back. I'm not pushing it just taking my time. I remember playing higher but I've just not got the lip. Yet... Played the trumpet over 50 yrs ago so its been a while.
Besides of being a great virtuosisisimo excelent trumpet player still have the for sharing your soul..god made a good election for your humildity and great human ..god bless you all the time..
Nice concept of warming up and working on sound quality. After one month necessary rest after umbilical hernia surgery I started today two warming ups (by Andrea Giuffredi too) both buzzing the lips and on the mouthpiece which gave a good feeling trying more on my first day. This vocalise I sang first concentrating fully on my belly for breath control and now I am going with confidence for the whole vocalise on trumpet. Musical greeting from The Netherlands, Theo Hartman trumpeter.
Great contribution, Adrea! We, that love trumpet and didn't haved the opportunity to practice at an early age, appreciate you gesture. Keep it up Please and thank you veryyyy much!
DO THIS EXORCISE THEN. If you play along with this video every day, and try your best, you WILL develop real skill. (Not an Andrea shill, just a long tone shill). Amazing to see someone encouraging proper playing techniques and giving them a hip and accessible feel!
@@ColonelFrank07 thank you for your encouragement. I admire Andrea for his efforts in helping advance trumpet playing as he does. I love his style, sound and ability. His play along videos are fantastic.
@@kameronj8807 Thank you so much! Was wondering because couldn't find that note in any valve position chart but I guess there's a complex music-theory explaination for that ahah
@@TheTrolololMonkey it’s just they the flat makes the note go down a half-step. Since there isn’t a real Cb you go down the whole note, I think. (Cause on piano there isn’t a black key in between them)
My personal one year experience advice: don't go over 1 hour per day. Slowly you'll increase your strength and start with 1.30hour per day. In my first year I sometimes spent even 2 hours per day(really to many). Now I play different studies on different days but I don't get my lips too tired.
I don’t know, but I’m practicing in order of what I know I need. I’m currently warming up with the vocalizing and a little of the flow studies, then practicing the first three exercises in the Clarke Studies book. After I play through my music
Thank you, this gets me excited to play again.
Massive fan of these Andrea! I transpose them and play on my tuba. Excellent quality

Beginner question: Why is he playing that Cb with 2? minute 8:31
Cb is essentially the same note as a B natural. Since B is second valve that would be why. :)

Andrea, I have a question! HOW MANY MINUTES should a beginner practice at a time?

I lost my house in 1999 and pawned my trumpet !
У кого есть пдф этих упражнений ? Буду благодарен если поделитесь
просто на тон ниже опускаешь до самого низа, а потом повышаешь. Это по началу немного сложно, но в будущем пригодится
wow
Suave

That’s a seriously fat trumpet sound!
