I'm so happy for you mate. From rock bottom to steadily climbing back out, it's great to see you smiling and enjoying life again! Looking forward to some touring and camping videos of Australia's west coast
Thanks mate 👍 it's been a very difficult year for me. I definitely needed something to go right in my life. I'm so excited to head out filming more adventures once it's finally finished. Just need to finish off the 12v then I have my son coming down to spend some time with me so by next month the camping videos will be back to normal and hopefully weekly if everything goes right 👍
The new rig is coming along beautifully! The canopy looks awesome and I know that you'll be putting it to good use! Can't wait to see the finished build and where you take it. Great to see that Cheshire Cat smile still beaming!
For sure mate 👍 unfortunately I haven't tried it yet lol. We only finished filming on the weekend and I'll be spending the next few weekends installing the 12v. Then I've got my son coming down for a week. So I won't be able to test it out until next month unfortunately. But I can't wait 😀
Every car really needs a GVM upgrade, 470 kg for canopy setup, maybe another 80kg for the roof top tent, 20 for the awning, jerrry cans full, plus all your accessories, the weights can really add up. But very sexy setup mate, love it 👍
Yeah I'd definitely recommend anyone looking at getting a canopy setup this size to get the gvm upgrade. New cars don't give you a lot to play with from factory so it doesn't take much at all to put you over your gvm
At first I wanted a jack off canopy but once I seen the quality & features that come with this canopy it was an easy choice. I honestly can't fault the quality & it's also an awesome looking canopy with those underside toolboxes sitting so flush 😍👌
Message me on instagram or Facebook & I'll send you a picture. MRT give you the M8 bolts that slide into the extrusion and my rooftop tent come with L shape brackets
Hey mate, unreal set up! I’m collecting mine in a few weeks and you are the first person I’ve seen go with the gas bottle idea. Do you mind telling me how you’ve mounted it? Cheers mate
Great review and nice canopy. I’m getting planing on getting a Hilux extra cab also. You’ve done a lot of nice things with your build. What GVM & 2 inch lift package did you get? Cheers and happy camping!
Just had me dream canopy fitted from MRT, shame about the shoddy wiring of the traffic sensors and reverse sensors thinking something is close all the time. Apparently you don't get what you pay for 😕
Awesome Video mate. She's looking awesome. I think what everyone wants to know is though how much does that set up cost installed if someone was to walk in to MRT and not have a youtube channel
This is why I included the link below. The link allows you to select what type of car you have & build your own canopy the way you want it and get a price right away online with no commitment. Price depends on what you want in your dream canopy build
I have been considering getting one of these chassis mounted canopies. How do U think they will hold up to 4wding, is it compromised because of no tray. Yes they are lighter but is there a cost. Would be really keen to hear Ur thoughts and first hand experience.
I haven't had the opportunity to test them out offroad yet but I will be doing plenty more review videos on it over the next few years. I was concerned about the same thing but I have been reassured they are definitely strong enough. Dan from explore bound has been running his for a while now if you'd like to ask his opinion & also borderland explorers have been travelling Australia with one for the past year & taken it on plenty of tracks so you could also ask for their first hand opinion 👍
Can i get the tray and canopy basic setup and add all the bits and pieces like draw and water tanks later once i get more money. And are the doors strong and not flexible? Also, is it waterproof?

Thanks mate 😀👍
Great setup. Well done mate
Cheers mate 😀👍
Nice set up mate, your set up is looking smick. Look forward to seeing some awesome WA trips in the future 🤟🤟👌👌
Cheers mate 👍 I've got my son staying with me in a few weeks time but I'll definitely be heading out straight after that 😀
That's really nice, I bet she was pricey. Hilux coming along nicely.
Depending on what you want in your setup. The Xseries Chassis Mounted canopy starts from just over 10k
@@Campingdownunder Definitely looks worth while. Can't think of a bloke more deserving than you, hope your going well mate.
Thanks mate 🙏 things are definitely starting to improve
Fantastic buddy , well deserved , happy for you mate .. take care .. Pete
Thanks mate 👍 good to hear from you 😀🍻
Awesome unit!! This is a smick ute !!!
This is by far the nicest canopy I’ve ever seen! Well done 👏🏼
At first I wanted a jack off canopy but once I seen the quality & features that come with this canopy it was an easy choice. I honestly can't fault the quality & it's also an awesome looking canopy with those underside toolboxes sitting so flush 😍👌
Strong looking canopy👌🍺🍺
I'll definitely be putting it through its paces 👍
Awesome!
Good on you mate kicking goals. nice vehicle and canopy…. Looks like you’ve dropped a few kegs aswell good work 🍻🍻
Haha thanks mate 👍🍻

This is definitely the break I needed. Hopefully things keep improving from here 😀👍
Its definitely a huge upgrade over the old lux
Have been waiting for this video! So good to see the build progress. Looking forward to seeing some camping videos in the new rig 👌
It's looking so good 😍 I can't wait to get out and start using it all 😀
Hi again mate, just picked up my MRT canopy, just wondering how you mounted your rooftop tent to the extrusion rails? What brackets did you use?
Message me on instagram or Facebook & I'll send you a picture. MRT give you the M8 bolts that slide into the extrusion and my rooftop tent come with L shape brackets
Hey mate, unreal set up! I’m collecting mine in a few weeks and you are the first person I’ve seen go with the gas bottle idea. Do you mind telling me how you’ve mounted it? Cheers mate
Hey mate check out top end campgear. They have a gas bottle holder that you can bolt directly to the canopy
Great review and nice canopy.
I’m getting planing on getting a Hilux extra cab also. You’ve done a lot of nice things with your build. What GVM & 2 inch lift package did you get?
Cheers and happy camping!
Thanks mate 👍 I went with the dobinsons 3.5t gvm upgrade & poly air airbags
Can't wait too get my setup. And start living my life to the fullest cheers mate for the video very informative.
I'm glad to hear you found it helpful. Goodluck with your build mate 👍
Been waiting for this one 🎉
So have I mate 😂😂😂
Just had me dream canopy fitted from MRT, shame about the shoddy wiring of the traffic sensors and reverse sensors thinking something is close all the time. Apparently you don't get what you pay for 😕
What an awesome setup might look into one of for my Navara Warrior. Have you got a total weight of your car with that setup and the rooftop etc?
2.92 ton with the rooftop tent & awning. But that excluded the 12v gear and my belongings
@@Campingdownunder Getting pretty heavy, so you would be well over 3t fully loaded with fuel, water etc? Do you have a GVM upgrade?
@Mr500RWHP yes I have a gvm upgrade & airbags 👍

Everything should be available for purchase now. Reach out to your nearest store to confirm 👍
Can i get the tray and canopy basic setup and add all the bits and pieces like draw and water tanks later once i get more money. And are the doors strong and not flexible? Also, is it waterproof?

WOW Mate. 1 very nice unit. Question.. What's the rear spring rated at.
I got a gvm upgrade before fitting this. I wouldn't recommend a canopy without one. Especially something this big
This is just a 17 minute MRT advertisement....
MRT are supporting my channel. But I honestly haven't seen a better canopy on the market. I genuinely love this canopy 😍
I haven't seen that many MRT canopies out and about so this was nice to see
They are a reasonably new company still
@jasonwebber9811 we create all this content for everyone to watch for free and then they complain about it lol
Absolutely, nice but out of the price range of many people
