One of the reasons why the H20 did not come out is that China previously lacked experience in large flying wing design. The second is that the Chinese Air Force must require the H20 to be able to launch hypersonic missiles with a relatively long range, which undoubtedly increases the difficulty. This is not only the aircraft platform itself, but also the ammunition. Unlike the United States, the United States has many military bases, but China does not, and China relies more on domestic airports. If you give China B2 B21 now, it may not be able to meet the long-range requirements of the Chinese Air Force. The current Yj21 has a range of about 1500km. To truly achieve strategic deterrence, the ammunition range requirement should be longer. Therefore, the H20 should definitely not be a B2 replica, which will completely fail to meet the strategic needs of the Chinese Air Force.
Well said, and lets not forget that the B2 has a range of 6000 nautical miles. The thing is almost able to circle the earth without refueling. The B21 is advertised to have about half the distance, which is more than likely a side effect of the US having so many bases as you mentioned. With aerial refueling, and the fact it can be stationed at a number of bases outside of the US, that big range just isn't necessary.
Those aren't contrails those are low pressure points, it creates a little bit of condensation but that disappears entirely because the atmosphere isn't in a state that supports clouds so much. You can see a little bit coming off the wingtips as well, and that's where the wingtip vortices occur. As you can see none of the planes here are producing contrails, it's all dependent on how high they are, on how humid the atmosphere is, etc.
I thought those were wing tip vortices too but they aren't coming off the wing tip. They flow from the trailing corner of the wing. Makes me think it's fake. Or maybe a control surface is making the trail?
Yeah, that's more likely. Also, you don't want to create contrails in a strategic asset that's supposed to be stealthy, a little like the B2. So the Chinese probably have some sort of thermal management as well as contrail suppressing technology in there.
I love your channel. Keep up the good work. Other channels claim flying in space. Laser weapons. Mach 4. Glad to see there is a rational and pragmatic review of these latest Chinese jets.
I don't think you can "definitely" exclude a moving V-tail just because it adds weight. It's probably not as much weight as you think and if it is indeed included as the previous CGIs show, its benefit (e.g. low-speed stability) probably significantly outweighs any potential disadvantages.
I think the H-20 video is fake. The "close" wing looks much larger than the far wing... which can be a simple matter of perspective. BUT... perspective effects are based on a sort of parabolic shift of "apparent size" based on distance. In other words, when standing close to a model, the close wing will look much larger than the far wing. But at a couple thousand feet away, the difference in size caused by perspective would be almost imperceptible. This can get hard to gauge if your camera is telephoto or wide angle... but it looks quite "wrong", perspective wise. As for "wrong pixels", I could get rid of any pixel evidence in a fake image or video, by myself, on a regular desktop. Pixel evidence is really only applicable to very amateur or very lazy fakes. More often it's perspective problems or light angle problems. The photograph of the H-20 sitting on a runway is definitely also fake, due to light angles. None of which implies that the H-20 itself is fake, just that some people have figured out how to make money with clickbait.

@@christopherchartier3017 Russia's invading Europe wasn't excuse enough? PRC stealth is at best a work in progress, as the J-20 demonstrates. Unless the CCP has managed to steal more than usual (or even if it has), a 35 year deficit in bomber stealth isn't going to be made up anytime soon. This is a country which hasn't even figured out how to build a competitive commercial airliner after 45 years of trying.
Yeah, most of them are working behind a computer and hacks into other programs and copy 90% of it. Great work by the biggest theft nation the world has ever seen.
lol. Their tech sector is awesome at stealing tech. They engineers are good at reverse engineering it and making a barely functioning knock off because their manufacturing industry cant be trusted to supply the products they are contracted to make without cutting corners and shaving everything down to the bare minimum to be functional eg it's why their knockoffs of Russian jet engines can only produce about ¾ the power and have ½ the lifespan. Not even the most patriotic Chinese will fly on their locally made passenger aircraft and stick to the Western made aircraft. Its all moot anyway, because they don't allow their pilots the freedom to actually get good. They also desperately lack real world warfighting experience.
I don’t think this its first fly because the landing gears are retracted and there is already a camouflage or a stealth pain. The first fly of earlier prototypes has usually the landing gears deployed and the pain is still yellow (chroma zinc).
I appreciate all aircraft. With that being said. Any competent aircraft manufacturer can make a cool shape and get it flying. I mean ffs, the SR71 was designed in the 50's and it looks like it was designed this morning. The real question is. Is it reliable? Is it actually stealthy? Do the pilots get enough training? Are the maintainers 100% familiar with every aspect of said aircraft? There is SO much that goes into the effectiveness of an aircraft other than looks.
@@FastPaull Yup... This is the biggest reason I'm not worried about the current Chinese military... They are clearly in a development phase... new aircraft coming out like it's the 50's/60's USAF. This makes me ask... what does the logistics look like? IMO, China doesn't know what they need. They don't know what they want or need and are figuring it out as they go. Even with the Navy you see dramatic changes in the same "design" after 1 or 2 hulls.
It could be a third engine of a different type just to get it airborne for testing. They might be waiting on newer more powerful engines but don’t want to delay flight tests
@ possible, but every other aircraft IR mitigation system always seems to want to spread the heat out not concentrate it. But ya I’m not an engineer so there could be some new tech at play.
What puzzles me the most is the center of lift looks to be near the tail, far behind the center of mass. Is there an advantage to tapering off the wing loading at the tail end? For example, if there is no discontinuity of airflow velocity vector at the tailing edge of the wing, does this eliminate turbulence as the laminar air flow over the wing touches the laminar flow under the wing? If there is turbulence behind the wing, this might disturb the flow several feet above the wing same as if a beach ball directly behind the wing was obstructing airflow.
GUS: Given how far the "bomber" is from the camera, I don't understand why it appears asymmetrical. Sure, were a 30 meter-wide aircraft only 30 meters away, the size of the near half would appear much larger than the far half. But from But a 30 meter wide aircraft that's 1km away?? The apparent size (as is the case with the chase aircraft) of the near vs far half should differ minimally. So why does the bomber's left half (as we look at it) @1:48 appear substantially larger than the right half?
There has been controversy among Chinese military enthusiasts, and many people believe that the H20 project has been scrapped and redone. Because bombers like the B21 are no longer in line with the modern war situation. So there is no need to waste energy, and resources should be invested in the development of aerospace orbital bombers. The video is probably just a prototype. Academician Yang, the chief designer of the J20, said in an interview recently that the design of Chinese fighter jets has entered the kingdom of freedom, which means that China has solved the difficulties of high-speed wind-driven engine design. With China's industrialization level, the cost of producing and designing a prototype will be very low. China will experiment with more different aircraft.
In my opinion, judging by the shape though not clear, seems to be the H20. I looked into some 3D models of it and it looked almost 100% the same. Also note that the 3D model also had vertical stabilisers that can move up to an angle like the YF 23's to provide stability shown in the vid, but reduced rcs, typical of stealth and move down to flattened like the horizontal stabilisers to enhance stealth and not move at all until it moves up again depending on the situation. All of the info above hints that it's the H20, but again I am just speaking from what we have gotten so far so please take it with a grain of salt. Do also note that the bomber is still in its prototype stage. So it's possible for the tails to be removed and the H20 to have changes to match similarly to the B2, if not the B21.
"This is scary." What is scary, is the reason for China going massive military buildup. Remember 2022, the two US officers that openly talked about how once RF was done, the next enemy to be "fixed" was China in 2025.
@xz1891 not sure if it is or if it isn't. We all know president Xi has said 2027 game on for Taiwan . I hope he's just blowing hot air. But in the mean time never under estimate your enemy and if they say they are going to invade assume they aren't liei g. Build up or US Navy expedite. Deploy in South China sea expedite. Cut off Chinese H1 and H2 visas stop exporting American jobs and start making more microprocessor s in America.
The mainstream opinion of Chinese netizens is that the H20 did not have a test flight, and that it was just an AI or PS video. The H20 was recast because technology is developing too fast and the past design can no longer keep up with the times.
I'm shaking in my space boots I don't think they are contrails, but rather likely they are vapor from control surfaces. These TEMU airplanes look neat...
I think contrail is result of local low air pressure. Single contrail from tail end means the body is generating lift, and usually not a sign of supersonic capability…
China leads the world in 37 out of 44 critical technologies and America only leads in 7, according to the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI).
If you do some research, the flip up rudders at low speed (like during landing at own territory, airport) had been leaked a long time ago (a few years ago). It applies to the new ShengYoung fighter jet and this Xi'an H20 bomber.
Flip up stabilizers make sense in fighter as it needs stability to rapid maneuver, but not in bomber. P.S. i don't think it needs rudder on stablizer, because the air brake at wing tips can do the same thing, so it can be more simplified.
I have seen this shape before and aerodynamically, it's GREAT for B1-Bomber-like FAST AND LOW bombing raids! This is NOT a high-flying strike bomber! It is DESIGNED to fly from east-coast China literally at wave-top-level (20 metres or 60 feet above the ocean!) over to Alaska and hug the ground to hit the land-based ICBMs, air-fields and command/control bunkers and radar/comms systems with fast nuclear-tipped hypersonic cruise missiles or bunker-busting bombs. It is ALSO designed to fly low-and-fast to hit Guam and U.S. Aircraft Carriers BELOW their decks with hypersonic ship-hull-busting missiles from less than 20 km away before they do their fast turn! The US ships' radars can't see them early-enough when they are flying at 60 feet above the water at supersonic super-cruise or high-subsonic speeds. This is actually a VERY good design created to go lower and faster! This is the first Chinese Bomber aircraft that DIRECTLY counters the B-1 Bomber! There will also be a still-secret ECM (Electronic Counter-Measures) sidekick aircraft that will be similar to an F-18 Growler designed to jam radars, jam local drones and spoof comms to make counter-attack difficult. V
P.S. Some other posters have said this might be a SWING WING which is similar to the FB-111 or F14 Tomcat aircraft BUT I am kind of think thinking it's more likely a wing design copied from the B21 Raider. The RQ-180-series drones also have that THIN wing design. Again, while other posters are countering my supposition that it is a LOW HUG THE GROUND AND WATER flyer, the combination blended-wing and traditional shape gives me a suggestion that its internal AVIONICS have been tweaked for very low-to-the-ground and low-to-the-water flight DESIGNED for below-the-deck attack where hypersonic missiles and cruise missiles would be deployed from 20 km to 150 km away and then a fast turn-around would be done to get away from any possible counter-attack. The way to COUNTER this low-level flight threat is to buy METALSTORM sentry-gun systems on gimballed gyroscopically-stabilized 360-degree rotating up-and-down-swivelling mounts that have longer barrels with longer and heaver rounds in the .50 CAL, 20mm, 30mm, 45 mm or 65mm range! METALSTORM GUNS have bullets/rounds stacked one-after-another in the same barrel and there are a stacked 3x3, 5x5, 7x7 or 9x9 array of continuous-flow silicone-oil-cooled rifled barrels launching a huge volley of 100 km range rounds all at the same time that can devastate any incoming fighter, bomber, drone, fast-boat, projectile, missile or rocket! V
In most of the shots you can clearly see an orb following the same exact trajectory as the new bomber. It’s literally in multiple shots of this footage and clearly isn’t an anomaly because it’s being viewed from several angles.
Think the H20 video is a fake. Look forward to your upcoming analyses. Hope you talk about the WZ-9 anti stealth surveillance drone as well🙏🏼. It looks like a thoughtful and credible countermeasure agains the B2 and B21 bombers.

Maybe the center contrail is not from the engine(s). Maybe it is the result of 2 counter-rotating vortices from the central triangular trailing edge at high AoA, especially if that trailing edge is part of a pitch control surface or if it has a slightly higher incidence than the wings and/or some camber, thus providing a high enough pressure delta for a contrail to form whenever it forms on the wing as well.
The Americans adopted for their fighter a double tail (either vertical or slanted) desing; I guess for reducing the radar signature, as one tail "covers" the other, so they have double the aerodinamic surface but only one eadar reflective surdface. If I am correct, would it make sense for flying wings having three, four, five or ix tails?
No, though it does provide a smaller radar signature than a single large tail surface. Having no tail is preferable for stealth purposes, though then you're reliant even more on fly-by-wire, thrust vectoring, and coordinated smaller control surfaces.
"tailless" Yeah, but canards were also supposed to be an absolute no-no for stealth, and yet China clearly thinks otherwise. "contrail" This may not be from the engine, it could, as someone noted, be a streamer there to visualise airflow, and it could be a deliberate release of water vapor or something similar for the same reason.
I think the RTX case where they sold SCI to SAP level ITAR secrets was a major breakthrough in Chinas development of these. Look at a lot of the concept documents specifically those of Collins Aerospace, an RTX subsidiary. Do we have them? Until I see it, nope. Raytheon only paid 200M and I think more from recent cases. Did anyone go to jail? Nope.

It's probably not as much weight as you think and if it is indeed included as the previous CGIs show, its benefit (e.g. low-speed stability) probably significantly outweighs any potential disadvantages.

ok. weird request but can u rearrange models in ur background in increasing angle of attack

The Chinese engineers are amazing
Their gov support is amaizing too.
Yeah, most of them are working behind a computer and hacks into other programs and copy 90% of it.
Great work by the biggest theft nation the world has ever seen.
LOL you say that because you probably chinese 😂. And all the thumbs up are all made in china 😂😂
Meanwhile, Boeing is hiring more and more Indian engineers.
Your assessments are excellent. I appreciate your thoughts, insights, and honesty.
So Stealthy it got it’s photo taken

This footage is fake. I think he's going to remove this video soon.
It might have 3 engines
Have you seen the US Navy's X-47B? Very similar design wise to what was shown here and it also has a singular engine.
@Arrozconpanne X 47 B is a flying wing design. This one has distinct a body and wings
@@bastadimastaNo. It is a mixed win. It looks exactly like this.
I don’t think this its first fly because the landing gears are retracted and there is already a camouflage or a stealth pain. The first fly of earlier prototypes has usually the landing gears deployed and the pain is still yellow (chroma zinc).
Confused. According to draft, two engines is in central wing area, how come just single center whilte steam track?
In this day and age, only multi-angle videos that corroborate each other are reliable
I guess the wins can expand to increase the range and retract to speed up and also become stealth kind of like Tu-160.
"An excavator sized bucket of salt." hahahah, i'm stealing that one, great vid!
China has been in the business for 30 years and they have already caught up to the U.S. Hegemony
Or may be it's a new design to converge exhausts into one so as to reduce size of heat signature or guise itself as another one engine aircraft?
@ possible, but every other aircraft IR mitigation system always seems to want to spread the heat out not concentrate it. But ya I’m not an engineer so there could be some new tech at play.
noticed right away, wing shape is cresant shaped,
like the HP Victor, but not as pronounced,
was supposed to give best of both worlds, so FHP said.
To me it seems like the wide band radar drone thing is the most impactful tech here and it remains unmentioned.
People are in a copium induced stupor, there's material to talk about for months, give them time to recover
So why does the bomber's left half (as we look at it) @1:48 appear substantially larger than the right half?
maybe its in a turn

Happy New year, Sir.

I hope you don't take this the wrong, but the second B in "bomber" it's basically silent so you should read it "bomer"
China will experiment with more different aircraft.

that 3 engine looking one was defiently a bomber too. it looked like it was 35,000 kg
A diecast model / toy of the same plane just came out on Taobao in China, supposedly it is an official model from AVIC.
The Chinese are manufacturing full speed ahead in all military equipment. This is scary.

The mainstream opinion of Chinese netizens is that the H20 did not have a test flight, and that it was just an AI or PS video. The H20 was recast because technology is developing too fast and the past design can no longer keep up with the times.
Being on the edge of news, means sometimes on the very edge! I'll have my bucket of salt ready, but will not use it yet.
Bravo anyway!
I'm shaking in my space boots
I don't think they are contrails, but rather likely they are vapor from control surfaces. These TEMU airplanes look neat...
I think contrail is result of local low air pressure. Single contrail from tail end means the body is generating lift, and usually not a sign of supersonic capability…
China leads the world in 37 out of 44 critical technologies and America only leads in 7, according to the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI).
but what if the one trail is a result of a by design weird mixing ??
If you do some research, the flip up rudders at low speed (like during landing at own territory, airport) had been leaked a long time ago (a few years ago). It applies to the new ShengYoung fighter jet and this Xi'an H20 bomber.
Flip up stabilizers make sense in fighter as it needs stability to rapid maneuver, but not in bomber.
P.S. i don't think it needs rudder on stablizer, because the air brake at wing tips can do the same thing, so it can be more simplified.
In before Chinese flood the comments claiming it's a kite or CGI and saying don't need to worry. 🤣
It's a flying spaghetti monster
Yes it's obviously fake
That wake vortex looks like nothing I’ve ever seen irl.

Good point
Let's hope it's more 'stealth' than their current 'steath' fighter......
You know what? That shape reminds me of a swing wing configuration...
I think your analysis is correct
Can we have the old music back? I loved it!
Real or not, I always enjoy your content.
Love this channel.
I love your presentation and voice.
"tailless"
Yeah, but canards were also supposed to be an absolute no-no for stealth, and yet China clearly thinks otherwise.
"contrail"
This may not be from the engine, it could, as someone noted, be a streamer there to visualise airflow, and it could be a deliberate release of water vapor or something similar for the same reason.
Could it be a radar boom and the airflow causes I forget the name because I just woke up?
I think the RTX case where they sold SCI to SAP level ITAR secrets was a major breakthrough in Chinas development of these. Look at a lot of the concept documents specifically those of Collins Aerospace, an RTX subsidiary.
Do we have them? Until I see it, nope. Raytheon only paid 200M and I think more from recent cases. Did anyone go to jail? Nope.
Contrail is aerodynamic, not engine. Same as the one coming off the wingtip.
thats not engine exhaust it has no afterburners, low pressure vapor trails need more proving flights to prove its not CGi
