It's the best footballing boots I've worn, period. For me, these are better than the Tiempo Legends, Copa Mundial, Asics X-Fly, etc. The touch on that upper is almost magical, the studs are well balanced, the fit is snug but comfortable. Love these.
The Mizuno morelia 2 be it MIJ or Elite are just boots I can honestly wear all year. They are definitely in my top 4 favorite boots of all time up there with the legend 5,adipure 4 and predator absolutes. You describe it well on how well these boots are made. Had a pair since 2020 and it still goes well even tho I had multiple rotational pair, the morelia still is in my bag all these years. Just got a replacement already with another Morelia 2 lol
I buy mine on ebay from resellers in Japan/Korea. It's still more expensive than buying it in Asia, but they come out to around $215-$220 pre tax. Maybe $20-$30 more if you're buying special color ways when they release. Imo, still a great deal given the quality compared to similarly priced boots from the big brands.
@@rousseau327 Yeah, ebay is always there. I live in Japan so I don't have to worry about prices as much. Still, they have gone up here. And I still do wish they were more affordable outside of Japan.
Morelia $144 in Japan. ASICS X-fly is the same price. I have the ASICS DS Light Pro AG for old turf. The ASICS AG outsole is sick but I’ve only ever seen them in the DS Light Pro. They’re ¥14,000, or about $99, for kangaroo leather AG boots.
A great option I found was to buy these MIJ boots off of eBay resellers in Japan. There are a lot of vendors who have sold many of these boots with tons of great reviews and I was able to get some for just under $200 USD with free shipping from Japan!
@@dvd37 mine were from KakkoiiWorldJapan but it doesn’t have to be that exact one. Just make sure they’re reputable so I usually see how many items they’ve sold, look at reviews and review pics to make sure they’re not just bots but real customers. Mine came in and I’ve been using them for almost 2 months, they’ve been great
@@Corey-gd5gd I personally have really wide feet and they’ve stretched a bit in the toe box, but I notice the mid foot where the black logo is has stayed really nice and tight with great lockdown like he discusses in the video. Should be great even with medium feet, I would definitely recommend you try a pair
On my visit to Japan I found these pair in the sports center in Tokyo along side other boots and got it for 125 BUCKS it was an absolutely amazing deal and the quality does not disappoint as well!!!!
The laces for the Mizunos are a bit weird. There’s two lengths that I know of. 120cm and 130cm and it’s based on your size. There’s a small window where it’s weird length for some sizes because stock the laces only have two lengths. You might have the 120s stock when you might have been better off at 130. You can buy replacement Morelia laces in Japan. Japanese feet are different. My size 8US is always available in Japan because it’s at the large end of the stock in store. My insole replacement size for my 8s are considered size L. Most boots, and even some non-MIJ Neos, in size 8 and up are often on last size ale in-store. I noticed lots of boots will be missing sizes 5.5-6.5 on the box stacks.
The rear studs were one of my biggest concerns but it seems every reviewer states they are fine. Ordered these for my bday and will be arriving soon, can’t wait! 🤌🏼
Wore Morelias since 95 because they were cheaper than any good boot in asia - and they weren’t as good back then. Copas and Specialis were too expensive for a kid. Diadora Brazil and Lottos weren’t available in my area. Never once noticed the rear studs were that far up. Found out in this video.
I think u will love the Mizuno Morelia DNAs even more. Basically a fusion of the Morelia 2's supreme K leather upper and Morelia Neo 3's soleplate. So basically a combo of K leather comfort and in game performance.
Ignitus Wave was my favorite but they don’t make ‘em anymore. DNAs are cool if you can find them. Think it was a World Cup release in blue that I wanted to get but I wasn’t able to.
Great review just seen this exact pair on ebay my foot is more medium to narrow do you think these are suitable watched the full review I know you touched on it briefly
Great review, thanks very much. I am about to purchase my first pair of Morelias and am wondering if the conical studs are suitable for soft grass during the wet UK winter months. What do you think?
hello i have my phatom gx iwith size 44.5 do you think i should still get a pair in the same size for the morelia 2 instead of going half a size down. I like to have a tiny bit of space in my toe box .
Ive had two pairs and at least for me the leather has cracked on both. Also this latest pair kinda shrunk on me from using them on wet fields and the feel hasnt been the same since.
USD 320? wow that's crazy. In Japan this is sold at the same price as the Horenso. I still prefer the horenso though as this one is slightly more narrow
Those studs seem more like AG despite the boots being labeled as FG. Any experience with them on FG? Would they give more grip than classic copas at least? The grass is often damp here so i need some dig-in. Don't like SG boots.
@@khelgarironfist3301 I just think of it as a classic, conical soleplate. Not really “ag” per se, but works pretty well. I can’t say if it does any better gripping in wet conditions than a more “modern” soleplate. Also, if you don’t like SG boots, try puma, or the new predator elites from adi, they seem to have above average in length studs
@@haltsboots i actually tried predator elite FGs. They murder my toes from above and one size bigger is too long so it was a no go. I stick with Tiempo FGs these days despite subpar durability.
I just bought these in half a size down, the material is great but like you said my toes are pushing at the top ? How much hours would you say it should take for me to be sure it’s not the right fit ? Thanks
There’s a Morelia shoe tree that kinda does that work for you, but any shoe tree will work. The Morelia one just looks cool in the boot. They also sell a leather stretching oil at the Mizuno flagship store in Osaka. Never tried it. I always get my size and it just stretches less, which helps keep them longer. Had an old pair from the 90s (they were heavy back then) that lasted throughout middle school and into high school. Never broke. Left them in a friends car that got stolen.
Adler quality varies. You can hold different pairs of the same boot and same size in your hand and assume that two different people made them. It’s kinda cool. But also kinda frustrating I’d assume - I’ve never owned a pair.
It’s not $320 because it’s handmade or because the material. I buy my MIJs in Japan to avoid the tariff. It’s ¥20,000, which is ~$144 in a store in Japan. Another reason to get them in Japan is because they sell accessories connected to the boot. There’s three different Morelia insoles - regular ones, Zeroglide, and comfort. They have a four-step care system. There’s two options of the care system - the original and the new formula. The original has scentless and a lemongrass option. The new formula costs a little more; kinda like an MIJ of care system. There’s two lace options. Zeroglide and classic. Classic has white, red, or black which have Morelia printed in the aglet. Zeroglide has like 10+ options which have Zeroglide printed on the aglet. There’s a Morelia shoe tree. Think that’s all I remember. Same shoe tree and laces option for the Neo series.
