@@jamalamadingus161 Agree. I only watched a few of these UK videos so far but it seems like Matt is a bit in a confidence slump. Seems like he needs to clear his head and get his mojo back. Being said, Garrett knows the guy better than me so I'm sure he did what he thought was best for Matt.

@@francobaby1005 He beat Bubbie, but gave him strokes so he lost 1 down. He beat Steve, but gave him strokes and tied. He lost to Grant straight up and beat Matt straight up. So he's 3-1 straight up, 1-2-1 with strokes given.
Everyone knew he was better than Bubbie, Matt and Steve because they are all 12+ handicappers. Grant and Garrett are pretty much 5 handicap. Micah isn't consistent so he can shoot par or 12 over.
Lmao, Garrett definitely knows what he's filming at all times. We see just portions of it, but it's what makes him so successful and entertaining. He knows how to cater to whatever audience he has. These boys deserve all the recognition they are getting. I remember watching ESPN top 10 and seeing this teenager doing trick shots.... Now look at him.

To be fair as a pro Rick shouldn’t be hitting so many tops and fats, is a 5/6 handicap at best

@@samuelknott5586 You are aware that you can be a PGA pro with a 5 handicap, right? At least in America you can. There is a playing test, but you generally don'g have to play off scratch to pass it.
Rick is a teaching pro, not a touring pro.

I really like that Matt took a second to empathize with Rick after his two shank 3 wood shots into the water. These guys are so unbelievably good, which can mess with the average golfers mind (like why can’t I hit those f@$&ing shots!) so hearing him share that he, and every GG member, has done that so many times is super relatable and encouraging for all of us trying to get better. Thanks Scharff.

Matt is such a good opponent because his energy is literally overwhelming- even when he's not at his best. It gets in your head, I'd imagine. Not to the end yet, but this should be a great match.

BEST GOLF IN THE WORLD!!! I'll say I find this FAR more entertaining than the PGA events. Was watching the FedEx last weekend, and had you guys on the other monitor. So I have actual experience with comparing.
I SO wanted Matt to hit that cart on #7.
Everytime I watch Rick, he's either hacking out of rough or in the water 😂
This was imo the best match so far in this series. Matt is the closest in terms of skill level to Rick imo in the good good squad and they played flat with no strokes, the most fair conditions and quite a battle despite both of them struggling with their own game.
I would say Rick is at least six shots shots better than Matt over 18.
@@yenzen9112 based solely on recent yt content on both channels, I could see more reasons why it would be the opposite. Matt shot a 68 I believe in Hawaii last year, he played (according to grant) under pair their entire GG week in California and he played around level par many times in 9 hole matches. Rick on the other hand shot well over 80 in many of his break75 attempts.
Overall though I think they are very close, they both have solid a-game but when they mess up they mess up big, topping, shanking etc.. I’d say Rick would win if they both have a bad day (Matt can shoot 90+, Rick probably will break 90 even if he plays awful). But on a good day Matt showed many times he can break70 while I haven’t seen Rick do that in ages (maybe ever?).
Matt's HC is around 20 honestly, this video he didnt make a single par i dont think. Worst golfer in GG by a long way. Rick is atleast 12 strokes clear
@@jonathanberry9543 you clearly haven’t watched much of gg content or Matt’s channel, have you? I don’t know about any 20 handicapper that can break 70. He also had so many super close matches with Garret or Grant who are clearly both plus hcp.

Also regarding 6:10 : Yeah the average coffee in the US is really not good compared to anywhere in europe (to put it mildly). You can have very good coffee in the US but you have to go to a speciality coffee shop.

I'm surprised he said that Greece had great coffee. I spent a month there and my host basically said the only coffee that people drink there is an iced coffee. That is pretty much the only coffee I had and I didn't find any gourmet coffee to speak of there. Jamaica and Dominican Republic had great coffee.
@@guibox3 you had a weird host. greek coffee is great but it is prepared differently. it's like turkish coffee made in a pot called briki (or cezve in turkish) with very finely ground coffee which is left in the drink to sit. greeks drink a lot more coffee than americans (12 vs 9lbs per capita).

I love the energy and enthusiasm Matt brings to all the videos he’s in with GG and his personal channel…and now your channel Rick! His attitude and sense of humor is really fun to watch. He’s one of my favorite GG guys just based on his attitude alone! It might not be for some types of people, and that’s ok of course. But for me personally, I enjoy his contributions to all his videos.

I’ve been a subscriber to Rick Shiels golf channels for a long time now. I found GG just in the last year and a half. You guys both show golf in a way that all players can identify with and enjoy watching. The GG guys remind me of my days playing golf with my friends and enjoying the jokes and everything that goes on in between the shots.

This video shows the realistic reality of golf, I know the two swinging the clubs are likely disappointed in the outcome but this shows those of us, who have these shots every round, that it truly does happen to the best of the best and is no reason to be discouraged. May not have made you and Matt feel good but I can assure you that this video has made those watching feel good!

@@jasonevans1600 Matts hit the ground / crossed into the hazard having once been above land whereas Rick's was only ever above the water
@@davexilly it looked like it hooked over land into water , just like matts .. either way ricks ball landed in the water .. he can take relief or a take a lateral deeming where it crossed the land hazard where it once crossed water ..

Not the best quality of golf but, by far, the most entertaining golf you can watch. I've said this before and I'll say it again, I'd rather watch this than "beer league" LIV, or DP World Tour and PGA Tour golf. You guys play for pride and that's pure golf. Well done.

I’m pretty sure Grant takes care of that for them lmao. Rick has already said a hundred times how hard and far they all hit, so I don’t really think he’s gonna do anything more for them technique wise that Grant couldn’t do
