      Same here. There’s an epic video of him on here that’s about 10 minutes long. He’s hanging out at a range, talking to 10-12 guys. He explains his entire thesis of the gold swing. One of the things he said that resonates with me is, “We manage the mass of the club, so it’s useful.” Keeping the club in balance, so you can use natural forces. To me, he’s the best coach out there. I’ll look for the link and post it here.

      The answer is how your brain works : You have an intentended motion, let's say "arms down and around" and your brain figures out the firing pattern for ALL the muscles need to perform the intention. Conciously you don't use the hips, but they DO move first - so seeing something on video doesn't tell you what intention caused that motion! Your arms don't need to move for your hips to turn! But anatomically it is impossible to move the arms hitting a golf ball as Pete describes without the hips getting out of the way - but you don't need to have "hips" as intention, just arms - or hands for that matter. Hope that helped!

      I watched the Danny Maude video and I felt like the boy who said “ the Emperor has no clothes” admittedly the video was an edit but I couldn’t comprehend what he was trying to explain. Pete can hit every short game shot but his explanation of how he’s doing it ( in the limited clips I’ve seen) don’t make sense on their own. He’s big on Pressure but there has to be a better way of trying to explain his “feeling” that the explanation given in these clips. You will never see him just giving the answer away, it doesn't work that way you have to find the answer yourself. He wont hand over 50 years of knowledge in a quick lesson to anybody, I know that from spending some time with him and having numerous phone calls.

    Slow the speed down to .25 and watch his last swing at 1:27....he doesn't move his hips "down" at all, like Cowen is telling him to.
    Everyone thinks when they practice something new it is happening in the swing, it isn't.
    You're body during that one second it takes to swing a club is still going to swing it the same way it always has.
    There are no "secret moves".....your muscle memory is set in stone if you've played several rounds of golf.
    But teachers love taking your money. Ask yourself this question....If there are real "secrets" to this game, they why are there more teachers now, than ever?

      Hi Eddie, maybe Hideki isn't doing it correctly yet.? :-) Like Cowen says in the video it takes time and reps. What Cowen is describing is actually happening, but it is difficult to see with the naked eye which most golf instruction is based around unfortunately, that is why I am a small handful of coaches in the world that use Gears 3D to give accurate instruction. Have a look at this video I did using Gears to analyse the average tour player model taken from 100's of players, it clearly shows the lowering Cowen is describing in the video, thanks

      Like a swing in the park changes direction before you push it, if you push too soon the chains lose tension, same thing happens with the GForce Swing Trainer, you need a smooth change in direction otherwise the shaft lets you know, making it difficult to hit because you will lose tension in the shaft, you need to pull it down "Pull The Slack Out The Shaft" think of the golf shaft as a piece if string, you cant push a string you can only pull it "Centripetal Force" #Physics

    The pressure isnt downward until close to impact. If you are pressing down early in the backswing there is a thing called "early extension". If you press down the ground pushes back so if you push down you go up!

    • @gforcegolf
      @gforcegolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your right about the ground pushing back but disagree with your comment. If you did not lower you would fall over or compensate in other ways to hit the ball. You have to lower to push your hips backwards which prevents early extension.

I especially liked the one about “this is key” video where he talks about unfolding the arm-unfold the elbow straight down-while the body rotates-vertical versus rotary-and he goes on to say how difficult this is. Amen to that this has been the bane of my golf swing for years now. What’s really interesting is this guidance is exactly what Pete Cowen teaches. I have over the past year or so started to read everything I can find of Cowen’s-and I got an older DVD of his-and have had some real breakthroughs (when I can overcome my well ingrained tendencies from years of hitting balls the wrong way and expensive and marginal instruction along the way). Cowen is hard-because he has held his instructional principals very close to his vest for years-and you have to really pay attention and untangle the message he is delivering-but as he has gotten older-he is starting to open up more-I presumably to establish a record of his principals and methods-and often releasing more details through other instructors like Maude and this GForce guy-and he even gave an instructor a full swing lesson a couple months ago-and it’s on the guys You Tube site.
      In any event I am not sure if Marcus’s ideas will work for me-will find out more today-but his approach and observations make really good sense and he explains them in a very straightforward and understandable fashion. Thanks for sharing his name-I had never heard of him.
      I haven’t heard anything back on the original question. I did look at a couple of Marcus’s driver videos-which describes a very different way to look at the driver swing-so might give that a whirl as well this week.

      I’ll agree to disagree. Malaska talks about his move getting the club on plane by slight manipulation of the hands. Pete’s overarching thesis of the golf swing is pressure, and no manipulation. Malaska’s is about moving the hands/arms, Pete’s is about moving the body (arms, hips, etc) using downward pressure. Two different schools of thought.

      Players need to lose height to balance out the forces generated in the swing otherwise they would get pulled over, also losing height or compressing the body downwards pushes your tailbone backwards out of the way (prevents early extension) creating more room for the arms and club, and it also has a big influence on how you turn through correctly and efficiently.
