I listened to Clannad since I was a teenager in Texas when their music was played on Sunday night on public radio. Their music helped me survive my dangerous environment. I found solace in their music and their voice in songs. Their music is such beautiful refuge.
Met Moyà once back in 2006. She is a beautiful singer and a lovely person. Very kind and approachable. She made my day and I never forgot it. Still love her music. She’s an exceptional musician. 😊
Moya obviously won't remember this: I was a London session musician back in the 80's working on the late Russell Harty's BBC tv show ( in the house band). We came over to Belfast in '83 or '84 to do a one-off show. Clannad were on the bill and I got to shake Moya"s hand and say a few nervous, garbled words to her. Treasured memories! Interestingly, my friend Mike Moran had quite a lot to do with the Harry's Game score...

I met her a couple times Always a risky thing to do for a fan ,,, But I was not disappointed No big ego she was absolutely lovely.
This American loves Clannad. Was just listening to Clannad today. This family has brought such musical joy to my life. Sad for their family losses.
Me too, been loving them for at least 30 years now.
Just saw them here in the states. What a blessing to the world!
going to LA to see them on my birthday this Thursday....so excited.

They captured ancient Ireland trough sound and voice. All its mythology and folklore, It flows through they're music
I was lucky enough to see Clannad in Cardiff during the 90’s, still my favourite concert of all time. 😀

No silly, the Vontraps are the Austrian Clannad.
Who is the @ssh0le obsessed with the Von Trapp's.

Donegals answer to TOTO.
WAY more talented. Did TOTO sing in their native language?, if they did was that Burger King or McDonalds?
Wasn't making a point about language usage, more vibe & style. If you knew anything about Toto abilities you'd know it was a compliment.
I've seen the rain down in africaaaaaa kevin, cheers tho@@kevinmartin5489
😂
Probably if we're talking Clannad 80s and later stuff... Can't stand it!
@@realdinho On reflection, both groups mostly did quality work, as well as what might occasionally be called, cheesy stuff.
The band helped me through an exorcism.
😂 really? How's that?
Hahaha...yeah righto...every comments section has one!
