thanks for this Diann....it's the first time I've seen a tutorial of yours and it is excellent...I've always been happy with my clouds (and I'm rarely happy with stuff I do), but you've given me some really great tips here for improving even more....and particularly liked the idea of doing a second wash on the whole page to get a more intense look...I usually just stop, as you did, after one wash, as I'm always afraid to spoil a good thing. I think I just might give the second wash idea a chance and see what happens. Thanks again....I will definitely be looking now for more of your tutorials...
I’ve seen some tutorials where they added the dark clouds in, but I guess you could add a layer of Payne’s gray and pull out the white clouds and leave the Payne’s gray on the bottom. I think you showed a painting where you did that. Is that correct?
Thank you for the informative video. Very helpful!
So pleased to be the first one to comment. Thanks for doing this Diann. You made it so easy. I am going to try to follow your tutorial. Loved it.

@@dimazi haven't been painting lately... Reasons, sort of,... But this is top of my list. I love doing skies... Doing better clouds will be fun
thank you so much for this helpful tutorial. I love your clouds. Have you ever tried to duplicate clouds from a reference photo? Any advice? 😆
Yes I have tried that. Try to match the color of the sky, then dab out the clouds. Let it dry. Then keep adding washes to add values where needed.

Yes, that’s what I did. Payne’s gray makes an amazing sky!
