I’ve driven on it just the once and at first it was petrifying. But I was surprised at how easy it was to navigate through it once I stuck to my lane and followed the flow of traffic. Great video, love the animations overlaying the drone shots.

I'm Canadian and I always wanted to check it out. So while I was in Bath, I drove up to Swindon just to check it out. I was scared AF but it was instantly fine. No issues at all for the 6 times I went in and out. Maybe if it was jam packed with traffic, I'd freak out, but yeah, really cool and hope it stays that way.
I holidayed in Wilts a number of times so I know this roundabout but didn’t really have too many problems but where I was living at the time there was a roundabout made up of two mini roundabouts so seemed to just be a larger version. My least favourite roundabout is on the M40 and often says closed after crash.
I can understand that but at Hellish, er I mean Handy, Cross gets gridlocked far too easy and needs police to sort the problem out with their Chuckle bros style to you, to me, to you routine one car at a time so can take a few hours to sort out. I haven’t even seen these problems at Hangar Lane, Hammersmith, Old Street or Bulls Bridge which are all notorious roundabouts.
For you and I, and a lot of other people, yeah - but then there are those who can't navigate a normal roundabout or park within the white lines in Tesco's car park, the Magic Roundabout gives those people the fear. 😄
It would present an extra challenge for me bc I’m an American and using to driving on right and I can also see how someone would get confused with so many lines and directions to go but also a one way road in the center?? Someone could get overwhelmed trying to understand it all and start making silly decisions Seeing it from above tho I think I could do it personally
We actually spent a lot of time in Swindon and have another couple of videos in the can to release in the coming weeks. I think we'll go back at some point, too, it's pretty crazy over in Swindon.
So how does this work? If you just want to get across, say from west to east, you cannot simply keep left and clockwise and leave at your exit? You're supposed to go through the middle one counter-clockwise and use the exit roundabout to, well, exit?
It looks like it has been made over complicated when it could so easily have been made a normal conventional roundabout. Maybe it has been designed this way because the nearby hospitals are over-staffed, have too many empty beds, and not enough patients.

The technicians are convinced this set up works better, but the fact that there aren’t more magic roundabouts makes me think they’re seeing what they want to.
As a driver with 46 accident free years including 12 as a lorry driver this is what nightmares are made of! It seems to lacking signs or road markings giving the driver some idea of where he or she is heading. With the poor standards of some of the drivers these days I'll be giving Swindon's magic roundabout a miss.
Went on it for the first time on my 125 after only riding for a week and beint scared of roundabouts lmao😅😅😅 piece of piss, be aggressive and dont let nobody pull out and just go lmao😂😂😂

The Magic Roundbout’s big brother lives beneath Junction 1 on the M40.

I remember Hemel Hempstead having a similar set up in the 1970s - don't know if it's still there.
There is a Magic Roundabout there, yeah, but it’s much larger from memory and much easier to flow over

This is one of the rage st roundabouts to navigate. It works.

I have had to use this on a number of occasions. Designed by some one who a never driven. The only surprise is that there aren't more accidents.
dumbest roundabout ever... you have literally 2 paths to pick for each entrance/exit... once it is clogged up, then it is impossible to untangle
