Having seen David perform only 2 nights ago and watched him declare war on the hateful bastards who make it their business to abuse the LGBT+ 'community' , I find this interview slightly problematic on the part of the interviewer. I cannot work out whether it's blind optimism or a media-based naivety, but you are not seeing the real world, especially when you're in Soho. Just last night a friend of mine was kicked in the back as he walked off a bus in east london, the man shouting declared him a 'batty man', with no provocation at all, in front of a a bus full of gormless, spineless lookers on. Abuse toward LGBT+ people is rife and still very prevalent in our so-called 'culture'. I do not believe things are getting 'better', but rather some form of silent 'toleration' is being exercised. I really hope the interviewer can muster some questions beyond his own experience in future. thanks.
You're witnessing a dolly bird interviewing a survivor. The interviewer lives in a media bubble. But... He may grow some balls as he grows... He's still very young. Let her grow. Let David flourish. Kudos to both in their own ways.
David grew up in a time when things were way way worse .. so did I, and I like you also don't believe things are all good now. So we're really never going to rid the world of hatred completely. But we can observe the small steps of improvement turning into miles of it ...the one thing I have seen is that as the homosexual cam our of the closet the homophobe went in to it..we have merely switched places.
