Shamwari, Lawyer salaries are $200 to $300 in Zimbabwe. Go teach English in China or Taiwan and collect $2500. Your South African degree is an advantage. You are wrong. Law is not critical skill in South Africa. for one to be admitted as a lawyer you must restudy the degree of that country and then take that country’s admission examinations they do not take a law degree from another country as a requirement. Tariro knows this. Tariro knows that she studied a South African national laws in her LLB and it cannot even be applied in Botswana. If she moves she has to study for that country’s law degree and their legal systems. South African law degree is for SA legal systems and doesn’t apply outside. Same as any country but yes there may be some similarities here and there. I wish Tariro all the best. I think she considers UK and follow other Zimbabweans TH-camrs like Nobue Khumalo who studied LLB at UP and realised that she wasn’t going anywhere in SA and moved with a UK law firm and is now a resident in UK.

So u could get caught anytime and get deported. Thai salaries aren't that good for black folks but u can work legaly.

That suggestion of teaching English as a foreign language in Hong Kong or other part of China could work but you can do online and not only to benefit Chinese speakers. Look up TEFL and do the online course to be certified. Zimbabwe requires one to multi task and earn from different streams of income mwana wangu. In the meantime, consider Canada or some other country for quicker growth and development. Your country will never spit you, and is always around to return to.

They own properties, buy groceries at Woolworths, spend money on grooming. That percentage is rising. South Africa, especially Joburg, is paradise for women, especially black. There are many prominent SAns achieving out there. Last Saturday in Paris at the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral, the beautiful lady that sang Amazing Grace is South African From Piet Retief in Mpumalanga Province. She is a graduate of UCT. She was dressed by Christian Dior for the occasion. She is so humble. She also sang at King Charles III coronation.

I think you need to give yourself time. One week is too soon to be complaining. Every adjustment period takes time. Relocation adjustments can take up to a year or two years. And these changes or challenges are a necessary part of growth. Unfortunately, for most people, life is not offered on a silver platter.
Even those who studied in Zim are facing the same challenges. What we need to do is be positive and see how best to grow from where we are.
I am also based in SA and have experienced life as a student in SA. I have also lived in the EC like you did. The truth is life appeared to be soft but reality is that it wasn't really tikada kunyatso zvitarisa hedu contextually. Difference iripo ndeye kuti ku Zim it's public poverty and ku SA is private poverty.
Otherwise, excercise a Lil patience sis and all will fall into place. Maybe not in the way you had imagined but there is definitely good in everything ✨

@kundaikoti9701. That's the best comment so far. Public and private poverty is the best analogy of the 2 economies.
Zimbabwe may be suffering "arrested development " but it by no means, stopped. Africa has a young population and a country without land, resources and dedicated skilled labour is going to implode. Soft life on borrowed money ( living on credit ) will soon catch up with a generation of that country as it pays for consumers of the previous one. Already it's a well known fact that S.A. has the most disproportionate wealth distribution in the world. " private poverty".

    Welcome home mwanangu.
The advantage of working here is that the car you will drive will be yours not the bank. The house you will own will be yours not the bank.
Life is not easy in Zim because we are in the season of taking over. This may not benefit you but future generations. Just understand its a war that does not involve guns, but its very necessary.
We cant continue to talk about being proud of being Zimbabwean when we dont own the land, the mines, the industries, just like the chinese, indians, Europeans own and control everything in their countries
Media is telling lies about our country so that our neighbors become afraid of fighting for what belongs to them. Its better to have a 1 billion dollar economy that belongs to you that to have a 1 trillion dollar economy that does not belong to you. Thats why you will never see shacks in Zimbabwe, though we dont have nice shopping Malls which many black people are so obsessed with.
Politically I dont support ZANU but i believe in their policy of taking over what belongs to us. Its the corruption and nepotism that they have to fight for them to get my total support .They must also allow young people to take over the party. Otherwise we want to see a change in our country.

When i got married here we bought two more houses with my husband, we have finished paying for one and about to finish paying for the second one. The credit system helps in the sense that you can have a house, and an car while paying for your kids in good schools and enjoying a comfortable life. Without the credit system offered here in SA, personally I would have had to save for 30 years to have all that I have now which are in my name because they are fully paid for. @@Marysmmiiiththat's very true. In Zimbabwe things are happening too fast. People no longer just rely on salaries. It's unfortunate not everyone is gifted in doing business and not everyone is meant to be a business person. I don't have the correct figures but I estimate that Zim economy is now 60% informal the other 20% is the SME ( registered indigenous business people) small and medium enterprises. The remaining 20% is large companies. The 80% which self employed will not qualify for mortgage. They would rather form cooperatives, put their resources together to build their homes. Some are still benefiting from mortgages but somehow they come up with ways to clear debts within a short period of time.
