I just did mine and at 15ft lbs the front axel still had some play and the castle nut was just barely past where it was from the factory, but the cotter pin wouldn’t go in. So I tightened the nut to the next notch and now it seems a little tight. The axel still rocks up and down by hand but there is a slight resistance. And the front to back play is gone. Not sure where to leave it.
Thanks Dave my front axel just started leaking I will look and see if my vent is plugged when I pulled the oil cap I heard it vacuum when I pulled it off thought that was weird
If you have a BX then there is no vent for the front axle. Thats part of the reason these have a good share of leaks. And the pivot bolt goes right through the axle housing with just two O- rings providing the seal. Poor engineering.

If you straighten the cotter pin legs first, you can pull it out by hand and reuse it. That one you removed with the side-cutters is ruined
I'm not worried about trying to save it.

Just boutht a 2nd hand Nagano Tractor and found even more front axle play. I hope I can fix it this way.

@@TractorTech Was not so lucky, the bushings are worn out. Also axial play. Will try to find spare parts.
I have a box 2380 2017 and my rear axle seal started to leak today is it hard to change?
