I forgot to mention that a good way to get past the past the tutorial at the end is to use the proxy spot in this video! th-cam.com/video/zZB6MvkieT0/w-d-xo.html
For some reason I rushed through that part of the challenge and didn’t mention it. I’ve gotten a couple people who are curious about that. Just use that spot to paraglide where I was in the video.

This dude did a weird and dumb challenge and some how found things that could be used for speedruns
Actually with some pipes, ropes and ladders you can use them by just standing near them and holding down the circle button, you don't really need to jump and press the circle button to climb them.
Yes! That’s why I ruled those out in the beginning :)

This was dedication!!!!! I loved watching this 😂 I've played this game hundreds of times, throughout my childhood up until a few days ago and I cannot believe that I've never thought of climbing up the water tower and jumping into the doorway instead of being thrown up there by Murray.

Just found your video/channel, and this was awesome! I think doing sly 3 would be cool, but i know that would be difficult. I enjoy these type of challenge videos, as its something I never thought of doing.
I’m happy to say that sly 3 is on the way with a special guest! But I plan on doing more challenge videos in the future. I love pushing games beyond their limits.
I like self imposed challenge videos and Sly videos, but still it took TH-cam 3 years to recommend this one to me. Good video, very entertaining.

Fantastic video, been wondering myself if it was possible for quite a long time. Well, now we know. But the room with the saw blades in the final episode, could be possible to pull off in some way that might not've been found yet.
Which I can try experimenting myself, but it'll be awhile before doing so.
The saw blades I’m almost sure is possible. Problem is it can take months of experimenting unless someone gets lucky. But like in episode 5, with some determination, it can be done

misled you. Goes over how and what he considers cheating but proceeds to use cheat codes to skip to the last chapter to obtain tools. That’s already cheating. FYI, you can’t make it past the intro without x+o. It’s why he skipped it. You can’t play sly 2 without x+o playing it legitly from start to finish without skipping & going back later.
@@AznTony360 He linked a video in a different comment section that's shows the proxi in the tutorial that allows him to skip all the rope walking/tutorial.

I know this challenge includes climbing, but just for the record if you stand close enough to a pole, while you're on the ground, and press circle; sly will automatically start climbing it.
I've sunk way to many hours of my life into this game... Enh worth it.

Damn, all those proxy spots look so fun! As a kid, I only found one each on the Canada levels. One where you stand on one of the train's ice car when you get to the electric cave where the train leaves, and spam X right when Sly gets electrocuted. On the other Canada level, you go to the opposite end of the map from the safehouse where there is that one really small wheel spinning along the log river, the one at 17:58. You jump between that wheel and the wooden platform on top of the small round log part that spins the wheel as Bentley and hope you get launched. Those were fun. Not really useful at all, maybe, but still fun.
Oof, guess the 2nd one is completely useless, since the one you showed seems much better and more fun.

You can launch yourself in.the air and then press circle button, that technicaly becomes r1 where you paraglide and then circle when you are above
Just wanted it to be more challenging. Plus it wouldn’t of changed the outcome :P
I don’t think this counts as you used cheat codes and abilities you weren’t suppose to have.

Great acheivment, but how can you already have the paraglide on chapter 3 ? Without early gadgets it's pretty much impossibile to pull this one off

U can get on top of train easier by doing a glitch high jump onto one of the open doors and then just jump to the roof
I never knew about that "triple jump" before this video, I did it in a recent replay of the series on my ps3, used it all the time, it's just so useful even for casual play.
Tried it in sly 3 and it didn't work, so I'm guessing it only works in sly 2.
Yeah unfortunately they fixed it for sly 3, but is very useful in sly 2 even in casual gameplay
i'd love to see a similar challenge run with the original game, i bet that will be difficult
in fact u cant alrdy skip most of the game but i guess some parts feature the same problems as 2 ... played the first waaaaaaaaay more than any other
9:50 - Did you or did you not elevate yourself off the ground by not pulling but by pushing with your feet against the mushroom and then proceed to pick up the spice plant with the press of a circle button?

Honestly, I'd say that that one instance shouldn't count since it's basically a cutscene like in the first mission. If anyone disagrees, that's fair.
How did you manage the rajan boss fight in level 3? As sly it reguires jumping on poles
In the video I showed myself using feral pounce and a few other tricks to bypass it. It goes by pretty quick so keep your eyes peeled.

One question (just because I don't recall seeing it anywhere in the video): in 'A Starry Eyed Encounter', how did you get into the palace grounds at the very beginning of the stage without jump & circle? Before taking recon photos of the ball and lowering the drawbridge, I mean.
There's conical rocks at either end of the outside wall, so I'd love to know how to get around them 😃
I’m surprised I didn’t show it or didn’t make it apparent enough. Feral pounce and paraglide will do the trick.
For Iron Horse 2 in episode 6, with sly you can actually glitch high jump onto the door and then glitch high jump onto the top of the train car and skip everything that way.
I’ll have to look back through the video and see what you’re saying but thanks for letting me know!💪

you can make this a Low% run. Complete it with as few Jump circle Button uses as possible, and then as fast as possible. Aka someone who uses jump circle twice in the game and takes 4 hours is better than someone who uses jump circle three times and takes an hour. Would be a cool category I think :D

20:14 Well technically if you find a proxispot from somewhere and you fly up in the sky and start gliding down towards the laser spot, you can stop gliding and fall to the point with only pressing circle button. Does this make any sense? :D
If you used the proxy to launch yourself into the air and then paraglided over and then hit the circle button, does that count as jumping and pressing the circle button? You didn't jump, technically
Yeah he mentioned he can't latch onto anything while in the air
Sly 3 isnt possible because of the mission in act 2 where you run people into generators and the shark section at the end but I believe sly 4 is do able
