Hi I came across this issue with the fiat ducato and water getting into the engine bay earlier this year. I have a 2007 model I installed an upgraded skuttle drain kit purchased from eBay and sealed the skuttle with sikaflex and cured the problem. No more water going all over the engine!

Interesting. My Mercedes T1N Sprinter base van, has its ECU under the passenger side foot well inside the cab, The only issue I have been told was if people kick it with there feet over time, as for the water in the engine compartment it has never had a problem but I do clean and take care of the seal plus it's an over cab (Luton) type so most of the rain drops go past that point and go on the bonnet 90% of the time. My Merc sprinter also has a injector cover, I hear some people take them off because they think it makes the engine hot, but they were designed to have them and it's also there to protect the engine from the problems you are having. Hi Joff.We have a 2023 Rapido A class and not seen any signs of water ingress .We've had 3 Fiat coachbuilts and the 1st had a 2 part scuttlr which were know to often leak.The other 2 were fine.Some have used a thin bead of black silicone along the top lip to create a better seal

Hi Jof , I drive a Renault Trafic and had this problem with the rain water running down behind the bulkhead and straight onto top of the injector housing all injectors had to be drilled out due to corrosion, the engineer told me to remove the bulkhead plate and bed it back down with sikaflex as there’s no seal to stop the rain. I also have a 2004 Fiat motorhome but don’t seem to have that problem.

Hi Joff I have have C class Motorhome and A Class which I have now with the A Class I have never had any problems with water getting in the engine bay we are also in Benidorm and we have had some really heavy storms in the last week or so and it is not a problem with the A Class as the windscreen is nearly over the front of the engine so that help a lot however you have less access for maintenance but it can still be done hope this helps. I hope you get your Mh back up and running soon great content by the way?

@MOHOTELADVENTURES no m8,but it's well documented and I think someone went to the trouble of getting a stainless steel plate made that diverts water I'm sure
@@andynicholson590 thinking of sealing the plastic all the way along the bottom of the screen.
@MOHOTELADVENTURES maybe asa short term solution but I'm always wary of over using that type of stuff if future windscreen problems arise,I would go for a removable mod 1st
The A class are different around the engine bay a good idea would be a cover when you not using it that keeps slot of weather and debris away from the Motorhome.

I guess a silver screen cover would be when parked,this would deflect the water to flow over the bonnet and not into the engine bay,just a thought

On my Niesmann and Bischoff Arto 2015, the engine is well protected as it's under a panel between the dash and the windscreen. That also means it's a nightmare to get to when doing repairs!😂 😂
I do that with my Mercedes Sprinter, but it's an over cab type so does not have the same issues as fiat, but a good cover over the front drain when not been used is a good idea and regular checks of that and everything is worth it, Sometimes I just take a touch and look for anything that does not look right of different.
What’s the best way to seal the black windscreen trim , is it best to lift it and run some silicone underneath or run a bead along the top where it’s supposed to seal against the screen ,
Thinking about trying to get the sealer behind the trim, just to keep it tidy..

Just bought a 2021 Adria with Ducato cab and noticed the same seal issue so keen to see how you go about sealing it 👍
@@paulgCCC probably looking to use some Sikaflex 552 between the plastic and glass, can always cut if the screen needs replacing.👆💯
Looked and mine on our burstner 690 same re windscreen seal😮 so will look at how you sort yours. Good spot! 👍

Not if you have a fiat I bet if you did one day you will be all over this video finding out how he sorted it out. I bet you are the type of guy that lets others think for you and over pay them to do it too, one of life's you know what. 🙂
