Yeah because being able to kick 7 feet in the air is so scary 😂 pound for pound taekwondo doesn't compare to MMA. Not even close. Not in striking, and DEFINITELY not on the ground. Not to say it's completely useless there's good technique in almost all disciplines, but mostly useless.

@@cornpopwasabaddude69 Lol. In the ground you're correct. Striking only half correct. No way MMA is better at kick strikes from old school TKD. You probably fought some kid out of the TKD dance studio and not Old School TKD School of Hard Knocks.

@@tmayorca8770 ehh sure there are solid kicks in taekwondo but at the same time most of the effective ones have been incorporated into MMA. The one pure taekwondo practitioner that I fought had a black belt and was fast but he was easy to overwhelm I just don't think most of them do enough full contact sparring other than sparring with other taekwondo practitioners. Most of their defensive techniques simply can't stop the overwhelming violence that modern MMA relies on. But to your credit, no. I've never fought an old school master or anything like that.

@@cornpopwasabaddude69 My instructor was in his 60's at the time. He was from Korea and fought and trained others in the Vietnam War. He was a 7th degree black belt and taught many classes during the day all private except the class I was in. Our class only had 2-5 students myself and another guy and if his three kids showed up. It was nearly like private lessons though. He was solid like a brick building. If he kicked someone and meant it they'd have a broken leg and anywhere else they'd be in the hospital. So it depends on the practitioner. When I took TKD it was a different time and not a sport.
