Eh the game is mediocre but got hugely popular due to Falk's soundtrack (before he did that for the game, it basically just reused music). Think it falls into a similar category regarding Sonic 4, tries to be a part of the classics but doesn't fully fit in there, while there's small physics or level design issues, it's nowhere as "bad" as Sonic 4 though. So a alright game that's a bit overrated with a great soundtrack from a pro.
@@r543Blitzsonic The reason for that is actually because the creator of the game disliked the exploration of the original classic Sonic games, and he wanted to make something different.
Reason for what, Level Design? I wasn't talking about it being Linear (although that could also be seen as a point for some) but more about the flow among other things. Ironically, Spark seems to encourage exploration and different routes more, also never heard of that before.
@@r543Blitzsonic Naw, I see what you mean. Level designs are boring or confusing sometimes, and the physics engine is obviously imperfect. I do have to say it's very impressive, considering it was made from scratch. No engine, no ROM hacks, just pure skill. OST here is absolutely godlike, ATS was actually a disappointment in this category to me.
My lyric interpretation: Trust YEAH When we're up front we're gonna be here rocking Be stuck here, a few boys, a bus parking To play trucks so it sounds like a tuba Everybody's hit the club key in Rhynehiller Isaac, Gonzo, and move to the morning stressor On top of this set of doors Keep it funky with a 4-4 beat I'm a radio heat, increased energy I feel like losing control right about now Haha, yeah Feel the beat, feel the beat, feel the beat, I'll make ya lose control Feel the beat, feel the beat, feel the beat, I'll make ya lose control
Just listened closely and backtracked over it a few times before deciphering what it COULD be saying. Of course, they're not the official lyrics, but it was fun to try and figure them out.
Maybe it's just me, but this tune would sound perfect in a Persona game... probably as a "school" theme, since I've noticed how the BGMs when you're in school are pretty upbeat and overall catchy, as to make you actually ENJOY school, but I digress...
Bro... you posted this even before persona 5 came out holy shit I dunno whether you actually did before P4g came out on psvita tho 2012 was an amazing year, really miss those times man..
Lyrics: don't let the bee stopper when they see your head rocking bees clocking the beat boys are body popping the base drops always sounds like a tremor everybodys in the club getting their fight together hands in the sky yeah we move through the floor leave your stress and happiness at the door keep it funky with your 4/4 beat from your radios tv screens and in the streets **I feel like losing control right about now...... feel the beat feel the beat feel the beat i make ya lose control feel the beat feel the beat feel the beat i make ya lose control ** = I'm not 100% sure
I find this game's soundtrack go be more "anime-ish" than Sonic: After the Sequel's. Like if SEGA made a Sonic game specifically for the Japanese audience, this would be its soundtrack.
Both this and Rivulets (from Act 1) awesome, both songs sound like the result of mashing up the soundtracks of Jet Set Radio (Future) and Sonic CD (EU/JP) :D
Falk, gotta say: this tune is so bitchin'. Love the call and response theme you have going on and them fizzy pads are just lush. Any VST in particular you're using for them?
After careful and painful analysis, here's what I heard in the song: Trust! Yeah! According to the clock, I wanted to keep on rocking! (??????) (??????) Everybody's in the club, getting run together. (So much ??? here) I'm so about losing control right about now (echo:right about now) Fanta-yeaah! Feel the beat! Feel the beat! Feel the beat! I'll make you lose control! (x2)

This is how you put a rap in a sonic song! Downpour, Prismatic, metallic madness act 1 and 2 from mania all understood that this is the perfect way to use a rap in a song. Not just ryming words with emotions like anger or lust. But working it so its in harmony with the music. I think act 2 has the hardest going rap but act 3 is the most fun to sing to.
Cinko420 I know. Of course it isn't. But the game itself is very well made. And they picked the best music from the fighting game. This is in my opinion the best sonic hack and better than most of the sonic fangames out there.

This song: July 2022 on a rainy day but when the sun comes out, that’s what the bells represent. Act 1: August 2011, Act 3: May 2024 Boss music: July 2023
Beat status: felt.
Apparently there’s a couple of Neo TWEWY songs that use the samples in this song.
Bird in the hand and INCONGRUOUS.
The sample is also used in LVBNR5 Schwartz from Cytus
Really?
...my God now that you say that out... shit I can't unhear it
Never heard of this game until today but this soundtrack ALONE is making me wanna play it

for fangame standards this game is pretty great imo

@@mohamedshabbeleh7948 No...
Yes
@@mohamedshabbeleh7948 Why
Because they use the sample
Never noticed e-102 gamma's theme in the background, truly awesome.
Yeah
HOLY BLUE SPHERES!! I never realized that!
seriously? I have been hearing this for so many years and never noticed it. Which timestamp has e-102's theme part?
The intro is an aesthetic unto itself.

Jasonic Raiden Yep it's fun to try to decipher lyrics as well as in stardust speedway present jp
@116528291882175650720 True dat! I did the same for Act 3 on this same channel if you'd like to read that.
Well those lyrics are on point.
It's funny how fitting this is on a rainy day. I'm playing this in the car during a storm and it just........works.

"Feel the beat!- Feel the beat!- Feel the beat, I'm making you lose control!"
The most 2000's song in a 2010's game ever
Lol after all these years I notice parts of the Green Hill melody at the end of the chorus.
I miss 2016 this was when i first played Sbts
Massive mainly. Like 9 different patches. I grouped them into similar sounding patches then basically treated it like an orchestration.
falk is literally the messiah of music theory
Oh GOD I love that sliding slap bass.
This song is fantastic.
The beginning reminds me of Planet Wisp Act 3
Probably my favorite song from Before the Sequel soundtrack :)
For me it's Titanic Tower
For Cobanermari, it's Fortress Flow.
This
Titanic Tower act 3
And the Metro Madness Boss
I find this game's soundtrack go be more "anime-ish" than Sonic: After the Sequel's. Like if SEGA made a Sonic game specifically for the Japanese audience, this would be its soundtrack.
It's a lot like what you'd hear in DDR essentially. That's probably why.
europe and japan share the same soundtrack.
LexStorm98 is it weird I prefer this soundtrack over ats soundtrack
Not at all!
I disagree - especially with the 1st zones' tracks in both games
Both this and Rivulets (from Act 1) awesome, both songs sound like the result of mashing up the soundtracks of Jet Set Radio (Future) and Sonic CD (EU/JP) :D
I hear some prodigious Green Hill Zone there C:
That's honestly my favorite part of all of it.....
This is peak Hideki Naganuma styled music.
You say you digress... but you said nothing after that... MAJOR TWIST

I want to know too

Starting at 0:41 and ending at 1:30, you can hear the melody of White Acropolis in the background. It's most noticeable at 0:41, 1:11 and 1:26.

The bass drops, so it sounds like a tuba
Everybody's hit the club, getting their fight together.
Hands in the sky, so we can stick to the morning stressor,
On top of these set of doors,
Keep it funky, with a 4/4 beat
On the radio heat,
Increased energy.

Hats and scarfs are what you need, yeah I'll spin you of control
That's what I think it said
Hello may I use this in a fangame I'm making?
This would fit like Persona 3 or 4 but Mainly 3 Because it has that feel
exactly what i was thinking
put this on 1.25 speed
Sure.
How did you test it out, if it you don't mind my asking?
Way before mania's Metallic madness
