This is a weird book for me to look at after publishing CYMK Ultra--an entire comic I wrote about Andy Warhol that briefly mentions George White, on the back page--where Jim made a book that more actively focuses on George White and then shifts focus briefly to Warhol on the last two pages
15:35 I believe the first time I saw this approach to black and white art reproduction was in the Mort Cinder Collection by Fantagraphics. I really love how that looks, but it's freaking Breccia. If I do it, I feel like it just looks sloppy and unfinished ;)
Breccia is a beast. I am definitely stealing some of his techniques, drawing with razors, sponge brushes, texture stamps, etc. It is a load of fun, but, yes, also very impressive when someone manages to ride the chaos of those tools as well has he did.
I can understand why you don't want to look at Marvel Grand Design books but personally i follow artists i like to everywhere. For example when Mike Allred does big 2 superhero comics i read them too. Or i look at Mike Mignola's pre Hellboy superhero comics. I especially recommend a non-superhero comic published by Marvel for a video, Fantastic Four: Unstable Molecules. It is written by James Sturm with art by Guy Davis.

Great companion pieces, then!!!
Mine came in yesterday! I'm enjoying the short stories. I enjoyed Plain Janes too.
Plain Janes is great!
Wrapping the Warhol onto the back cover was an interesting choice.

I read the first issue and enjoyed all of the designs, but didn't know how to talk about the book because what it is just doesnt make sense to me.
Ooh, nice first look!
🎉
oh yea I read Andy Warhols Diary. it's really interesting he's got stories about meeting everyone.
Pretty cool source for a comic
I read Allred's Vertical recently which played in the Warhol world.
