3 years later, but Robbe and Sander are a gay couple in the show wtFOCK aka SKAM Belgium. Good show actually. They played this song in one of the scenes.
The Johnny cash cover is one of the best, but this is on par with how hauntingly silent it is.
What i love about this version and unlike any other take on the song (like NIN and Cash) you can feel the hope in this one. It's like life, you can be hurt, you can fall, but if you find the strength in yourself to rise up, it will be for the better

@@Neolithika Johnny Cash's version is very talented, but it's a different genre from the original genre and this aswell. People have tastes, if you put Johnny's vocals over nine inch nail's instrumentals it'll sound worse than both, and that's just a difference in sound.
You can't compare the two despite being the same song.

Personally i prefer NIN over any johnny cash song because i dont like his genres. He sings folk, gospel, rock & roll and country, all genres i despise with a deep passion, especially country.

Thank you for this. I'm a huge fan of all your work. Whatever you decide to do is pure magic. If you ever decide to do Whatever It Takes by Imagine Dragons, I would do everything in my power to include it into the soundtrack of the Sunfire Chronicles television series since that's Lexia's theme and I'm seeking a beautiful, heartfelt, powerful version of that song to close out the fifth season. Just throwing that out there. ;)

Ralvex Lee Nah, Logan’s story was about having to go through so much pain yet have a reason fighting for. The last movie was all about protecting his daughter. The last ditch effort to fight for something he believed in while watching the last of the X-Men and his mentor to die in front of him. Showing that people can still be good when having a bad past.
I can sing this to my life line, and get some love back forever.

Although Hurt is a Nine Inch Nails original cover and this 2WEI - Sequels - Hurt cover isn't that bad no one can match the Johnny Cash - Hurt version Johnny made it uniquely his own it suited Johnny far better than any other performance of Hurt has or most probably ever will.

The NIN version was I think about Drugs and Suicide, Trent's story. The Johnny Cash version was about an old man grieving and looking to start life again.

Yeah nine inch nails released the original but Johnny cashes cover took on a life of its own. It helps that nine inch nails have basically said that it's johnnys song so they obviously have a lot of love for the cover
