- After looking through Amazon to find wacky lures to try out I came across this little fella Mr Zelensky! With it being topwater and having a prop i figured it would be the perfect bait to get some epic topwater pike action! It was time to see If this was just a silly novelty bait or if it was something that could actually catch fish!

Chris is this the Canal that you took Tom and Sean to, night fishing. I can now see how Sean doesn't set the hook as even you struggled till you got the lure right. But you still need to go back to Tom's stretch to give them more lessons on how to catch. Great Vid mate keep them coming.

I was using some topwater frogs not long ago on my local canal. Fished less than a mile of canal and had around 20 hits on it. Didnt get a single hook up but ive not had as much fun fishing in a long time

you need to try Lancaster canal....Its impossible to catch anything but weed....covered on top and below water. Driving me MAD

the blade looks like it will stop hook ups cos it right above the hook when they bight down it might be just stopping them from closing there mouths properly

Who remembers the purple lizard child’s toy that was used. £2 out of Asda? If it was bought as an angling lure it would have been £9 without hooks. Or 12-15 with. I got one rigged it up and lost it up a tree 2nd cast😂😂

My fist thought was that the spinning blade on Mr Zelenskyy was a bit wide and close to the treble, making a potential of sometimes preventing the hooks engaging. Especially on smaller fish... Great video, as always 👍🐟

Kris i hear you talk about style hooks and desidet to share my experience.
I must say the moment i changed to single hooks on my baits ,my hook up ratio went higher and started to lose less fish. But im using hard jig rods for the purpose. If I use triple hooks its really bad for the fish cause it tares them apart or even break the hook if its a bigger fish. Hope im beeng helpful to somebody out there. Last but not least with single hooks its safer for me and the fish+ unhooking is a dream.

I am really doing something so wrong. I have spent hours walking the local canal, casting out small spinners and have had nothing, not even a knock. There are loads of big perch in there, and some pike. I just give up.......
