One of my favorite franchises, really restores my faith in FPSs and prophet is a kick ass character. This was a criminally underrated game and just feel sorry for Crytek and their company issues, hope they manage to sort it out.
Only the third one. The fact that Alcatraz was in prophets suit means that it shouldn't be Lawrence Barnes inside the suit, because he shot himself in the head on the opening of crysis 2 after Alcatraz is wearing his nanosuit. So how did Alcatraz transform into Lawrence Barnes?
The memories of Lawrence took over Alcatraz's conscience. So in Crysis 3, the transformation was complete. And man, that single-player was great but there are many problems: (1 It's hard to run. Most gamers use consoles (I wouldn't though) and not many people like to build their own computer. On top of that, to ruin this maxed out at 1080p requires quite the budget (although a GPU under $200 would do fine at high) (2 The story is not that long. Once you finish it (in a few hours), that's it. (3 Multiplayer isn't spectacular, unlike Halo where it's HUGE.
i didnt like how the series story went at all. Each game on it's own tells a great story, minus a chunk of Crysis 2, but all together doesnt flow well or make sense. i liked the war of the worlds feel that was Crysis, which you fougt ht ALONGSIDE the military and it was aliens through most of the game. You deal with aliens very little in Crysis 2 and basically has 1-2 bosses, though 3 half-assed attempts at making decent boss fights. 3 once again ignored the buildup of what was to be a major global war between ceph and humanity, but instead stayed in New York and once again got stuck hunting down more easy C.E.L.L. human prey.
Honestly, video game movies have been getting a lot better recently. I think with the right studio that appreciates and wants to preserve the Crysis theme, it can be made into a great movie.
First week of boot camp... they taught us a lesson, a good soldiers knows there is only one thing he can rely on when the chips are down.... not his cutting edge intel.. not his... state of the art equipment, not his top of the line weapon, just himself, took me a long time to remember that..... For now the war is over, i made mistakes along the way but... after all... iam only human, my name is Laurence Barnes ... they called me... Prophet. REMEMBER ME!.
My whole body was trembling all-throughout that dialogue and what killed me was when Mr Barnes said, Remember me, because we all would one day and it sadly came true, because no other game has been made since then and guess what? WE ALL Forgot about him!
The profundity of this whole cinematic is that for all that Lawrence Barnes sacrificed, his name, his life, everything - the nanites in the suit seemed to recognize this, and his reward, his "upgrade" if you like, was the restoration of his humanity. Synthesis. Apotheosis. Crysis.
@@gameid4646 imagine wearing a nano suit as an Evolved... then later have it bond with you. You're basically a bio-nano killing machine that can adapt to anything instantly.

Yeah, honestly I would have put a short "Press X any time during Cut Scenes to Skip" option in the beginning, or do what other games do: No messages, but when you hit Esc/Pause, a menu pops up that gives you the option to continue or skip.
When they came to me with DirectX 10, I sacrificed my wallet, my monetary income, to run Crysis. When my own graphics card set me back, I sacrificed that too. Replaced it, to run Crysis 2. 60 frames per second costs. Every time, you pay a little more. I saw a glimpse of Crysis 3 and there was nothing left of me to stop it. When the greatest gaming machine fails... what do we do then? What do I do?!
To clear it up for everyone, bluntly, Alcatraz in Crysis 3 really is by all means dead, as Prophet's persona has control over the suit and by extension, the body it covers. Also a note for those who just joined the series, this scene loops back to the original Crysis during "First Light" with Nomad. It's mainly fan service here.
What you want is wisdom and content. To be content is to accept all that there is. Do not compare your blessings, that poison will never stop flowing. But being grateful to everything that comes your way, few can do it. Honesty is the hardest and best protector.
Still remember the first time i saw this ending with the most memorable scene from crysis 1, had shivers all over me dammmn, fucking perfect end for a game with a fucked up messy plot like this, remember me ( and nomad )
These guys knew what they were doing. “Remember me” all these years later, Crysis 4 is in the making. Expect the teaser trailer to have prophets “remember me” in there 😉
I feel, like there was no better way to end original Crysis trilogy. The best was to end it how it begun. With rough landing on lingsham islands. Maybe even, if Crysis 3 wasn't as good as 2007 or 2, it had a perfect ending. And yes. Alcatraz' body is still in the nanosuit.
Wrong Alcatraz was already dead by the time Prophet found him. The suit was the only thing keeping him alive at the end of Crysis 2 he dies it's complicated stuff.
@mahirshahriar1586 according to the novelization, Crysis Legion, Alcatraz is still 'there',but his and Prophet's memories have merged, and either personality can be at the fore in charge. Alcatraz remained in charge for debrief during the book's main plot,, but eventually let Prophet run the body mostly full time by the time he gets recaptured by CELL in the time following his release from the CIA facility that debriefed him. (And after they shut down at least two other Ceph sites on Earth.)
@@SCComegaAlcatraz died while Lawrence was given a second chance on living in a dead man body and becoming the suit some players seem to think the suit thinks it's prophet but their wrong prophet is the suit his mind became one with the suit hence why he says he sacrificed his humanity to ascend in order to save the world but in the end he was still thankfully human till the end and realizes that solider is just himself.
I think it kinda makes sense that Alcatraz is gone, the series theme clearly is sacrifice and he was just a grunt to begin with. He did what he had to do, severely injured, he had countless near death moments and actually died two times in the suit, only to be saved twice by it. There's only so much damage on can endure before there's consequences.
+Killer-Toni Maybe but crytek left EA and EA owns rights for crysis series so no more "real" crysis games are coming :( EA might continue crysis series but without crytek it would be shit. maybe DICE could do something nice and fresh about it but really. Maybe, one day before I die, as I wake up on my last day, I'd want to imagine this song playing in my head. After decades of living, going through pain and happiness, meeting my goals and people, it's a perfect music to think about.
WTF i still don't get if Nomad is really dead or not... the picture shows 6 members of Prophet team, the dog tags are 3 and counting in even Prophet and Psycho, we arrive to 5, so there's one missing... the hidden dog tag shows the letters "CAKE", meaning that it belongs to Cupcake not to Nomad... but it's also true that in the Crysis comic, nomad sacrifice himself in order to save Prophet and Psycho... also during the game there's the UKNOWN log file that shows that Nomad is still alive. Is he dead or not? What do you think about it guys?
When you collect all the intel in Crysis 3 you can see that Nomad is still alive, he's being chased by a Nano-operator called "Lockhart". Whether this is the Lockhart (from the second game, miraculously revived, or his Nephew mentioned in Crysis 2, who isn't really dead after all), is left unclear.
Same dude. This game links with me in a way no other game can. I actually sorta feel like O have Nanosuit symbiosis in a way. As when I stay away from this game for too long it sorta feels like the suit is calling out to me. Drawing me back in. Pretty interesting even if it is all in my headm
For the love of god I hope they end the series with this. Crysis is such a respectable series and is phenomenal in all aspects. HD remake the series for next ten I don't care but please don't make anymore sequels the series is perfect as it is.
+Killer-Toni yea but story won't be around prophet they said that they are done with prophet story maybe he makes a cameo in game but he won't be focus anymore
The amazing part of this story was that while Laurence Barnes as we know him - the man - is most certainly dead, the Nanosuit, a digital lifeform, stored his personality within itself and adopted his identity after bonding to Alcatraz in Crysis 2. The person you play as is effectively a braindead man wearing a suit that identifies itself as its last owner. At the very end, it adopts his identity completely because it believes itself to be Laurence Barnes, and alters its nanites to replicate the memories it has of his appearance in life. So while you're playing as a character named Prophet, whose actual name is Laurence Barnes, it's effectively a synthetic lifeform which has completely taken his place without realising. And also what of Alcatraz? The books did touch on this topic, but he effectively gave away control of his own body to the suit named Laurence Barnes. Truly an amazing piece of fiction. After seeing the Crysis 4 teaser, I can't wait to melt my GPU in ten years! I can only hope the story is as thought-provoking as the original trilogy. While I hope it is a continuation of this story, a new original plotline would be nice.
Basically, it's not Prophet nor Laurence who's talking throughout the game, it's the suit that believes itself to be human is the one talking. A suit that gained sentience.
Crysis 4 is officially announced and will be released in the coming year or two 2024 or 2025. The minimum requires are unspecified but they did say that a 3060 should be able to run it comfortably on medium graphics.
2:40 That thing is absolutely massive and it just keeps coming out with no end. The design is fascinating, the interior mechanism spinning and flashing gets faster over time, like it's charging, is the entire vessel one massive weapon? Why mechanical tentacles hundreds of miles long? Wasn't the Ceph's original purpose is to terraform Earth? I NEED ALL THE LORE!
One of the best and most beautiful endings to a game ever! Although it mind be confusing as to what actually happened with the Nanosuit/Prophet it was an epic ending nonetheless. Also,I'm not sure it will ever be a direct sequel to Crysis 3,they wrap things up quite nicely, the universe of Crysis has a lot of potential so I'm confident enough we will see the Ceph again.
In that picture, all were Raptor team. Sean ONiel, Jester, Prophet, Psycho, Aztecs and Nomad. Still wondering what happening to Sean Oniel despite being removed from Raptor team before they being outfits with Nanosuit. ONiel supposed to appreciate that he wasn't part of the human experiment that Cell took Raptor team with.
If you see the video bar and see where people comeback more, you will see the shape looks exactly like the island when Prophet says his line 👌 absolute cinema
Basically Prophet aka Barnes stored his mind in the suit that was given to Alcatraz the protagonist of Crysis 2. Barnes original body died and this allow his mind aka spirit to take over Alcatraz body overtime.
Laurence Barnes (Prophet) and James Rodriquez (Alcatraz) merged their minds together to form one being-Prophet. Alcatraz' date file became partially corrupted, so Prophet is 42% James Rodriquez 58% Laurence Barnes. Laurence has slightly more influence over the body, so that's why you look like him and call yourself Laurence and Prophet. The reason you sound like Laurence is because Alcatraz' injuries took away his ability to speak. He uses a voice module from the Nanosuit; the suit had to use a voice from the only data profile it has stored-Laurence Barnes' voice. So Alcatraz is alive, he's just fused with Laurence to become Prophet.
A suit that changes the rules. Had Hargreave inherited the suit, he would not have made the hard choices in the end, too paranoid and/or power hungry Theoretically, if the suit can change it's integrity to take on any form, then it likely has the power to influence time. By studying the chemistry of the human genome, it would have opted into a parity checks and balances system on the same level of Superman reversing the rotation of the Earth! It would have accessed Hargreave's DNA and probably would have missed the valor gene What intrigues me the most about this conceptually, is that that through Barnes' mind, it opted to retain the human form. You would think that the nanites would respond to it's native origin and return to the Ceph for decommission. It rejected its masters and found their mechanism for survival lacking also The human mind is exceptionally strong willed
Nanites replaced his skin with a nanostructure of the same suit tech. As the suit is adaptive in nature and unlocked in Crysis 3 it makes perfect sense.

One of my favorite franchises, really restores my faith in FPSs and prophet is a kick ass character. This was a criminally underrated game and just feel sorry for Crytek and their company issues, hope they manage to sort it out.
Well they did as the 4th game is coming hopefully sometime in 2025
Please let Crysis 4 continue the story. WE DO NOT WANT A REBOOT !!!
there is nothing to continue. It's over. and personally, I think that this is the perfect end to it.

why so many people don't like crysis that's an unbelievebel game
Only the third one. The fact that Alcatraz was in prophets suit means that it shouldn't be Lawrence Barnes inside the suit, because he shot himself in the head on the opening of crysis 2 after Alcatraz is wearing his nanosuit. So how did Alcatraz transform into Lawrence Barnes?
Crysis 3 was too short. Other than that, good game compared to Battle Field and Cod fish.
The memories of Lawrence took over Alcatraz's conscience. So in Crysis 3, the transformation was complete. And man, that single-player was great but there are many problems:
(1 It's hard to run. Most gamers use consoles (I wouldn't though) and not many people like to build their own computer. On top of that, to ruin this maxed out at 1080p requires quite the budget (although a GPU under $200 would do fine at high)
(2 The story is not that long. Once you finish it (in a few hours), that's it.
(3 Multiplayer isn't spectacular, unlike Halo where it's HUGE.
i didnt like how the series story went at all. Each game on it's own tells a great story, minus a chunk of Crysis 2, but all together doesnt flow well or make sense. i liked the war of the worlds feel that was Crysis, which you fougt
ht ALONGSIDE the military and it was aliens through most of the game. You deal with aliens very little in Crysis 2 and basically has 1-2 bosses, though 3 half-assed attempts at making decent boss fights. 3 once again ignored the buildup of what was to be a major global war between ceph and humanity, but instead stayed in New York and once again got stuck hunting down more easy C.E.L.L. human prey.
Jeremy K Crysis 2 dealt very little with aliens? At least half or more of it was dealing with aliens
They should make a movie
Honestly, video game movies have been getting a lot better recently. I think with the right studio that appreciates and wants to preserve the Crysis theme, it can be made into a great movie.
i agree :D
that would be awesome !!
Alberto Negrete don't make any movies out of them, videogame movies are terrible. They can never be as good as the actual games
That would be awesome. In fact they should make a trilogy!
I think it would be more popular than the game
First week of boot camp... they taught us a lesson, a good soldiers knows there is only one thing he can rely on when the chips are down.... not his cutting edge intel.. not his... state of the art equipment, not his top of the line weapon, just himself, took me a long time to remember that..... For now the war is over, i made mistakes along the way but... after all... iam only human, my name is Laurence Barnes ... they called me... Prophet.
REMEMBER ME!.
Best ending ever
"They called me Alcatraz, remember me" **Disappears forever**
My whole body was trembling all-throughout that dialogue and what killed me was when Mr Barnes said, Remember me, because we all would one day and it sadly came true, because no other game has been made since then and guess what? WE ALL Forgot about him!
It was such a perfect, good, and happy ending for the series
In my honest opinion this was undoubtedly one of the finest endings in a video game to a game that to my surprise exceeded my expectations!
The profundity of this whole cinematic is that for all that Lawrence Barnes sacrificed, his name, his life, everything - the nanites in the suit seemed to recognize this, and his reward, his "upgrade" if you like, was the restoration of his humanity. Synthesis. Apotheosis. Crysis.
The suite can turn i white dude into a black dude, now thats magic
fish man Alcatraz (the original owner of the suit) was black, Lawrence turned into alcatraz.

an epic ending
When they came to me with DirectX 10, I sacrificed my wallet, my monetary income, to run Crysis. When my own graphics card set me back, I sacrificed that too. Replaced it, to run Crysis 2.
60 frames per second costs. Every time, you pay a little more. I saw a glimpse of Crysis 3 and there was nothing left of me to stop it. When the greatest gaming machine fails... what do we do then? What do I do?!
Right,tell them,but i sacrificate my PS3
😂😂😂😂
I want my life's ending to be like him.
To become a nano-powered big black dude? I want that too!
It's all first person and it's like you're reading a book, or having Prophet sit next to you, talking about his story of what he all went through.
I want my life to end like that. Just alone, accepting of what happened with my life, satisfied that I have closure.
Same sort of
I doubt it. Being truly alone is quite different from just wanting to be alone.
What you want is wisdom and content. To be content is to accept all that there is. Do not compare your blessings, that poison will never stop flowing. But being grateful to everything that comes your way, few can do it. Honesty is the hardest and best protector.
Anyone else rewatching this after the announcement?
@@Legion849 I see your point, but I think Alcatraz is still alive, but nanosuit simply replaced his memory with prophet's
@Darkness Believer it's still hard to believe we are finally getting another Crysis...
Wtf, after 9 years i just realized that there's is another scene after prophet said "remember me"

EA might continue crysis series but without crytek it would be shit. maybe DICE could do something nice and fresh about it but really. Leave it like this it's better for all of us :)
Crytek actually owns the rights to Crysis. They've put Crysis DLC and cameos in all of their current games.
irou95 are you dumb???? EA only earns money from publishing games. They don't own any of them
Not true. Pretty sure they own the majority of their IPs. Crysis was an exception.
Maybe, one day before I die, as I wake up on my last day, I'd want to imagine this song playing in my head. After decades of living, going through pain and happiness, meeting my goals and people, it's a perfect music to think about.
had anyone else wished actual movie of Crysis when we were kids? And honestly i still do wish it to happen sometimes lather in future.
I've heard the comic is not following the game of Crysis. I feel Nomad is still alive
it makes headache.. u r a genius
As u can see in the picture only 3 people are highlighted so other 3 has nothing in common
Nomad died in a rocket attack between 1 and 2. It was released in some kind of comic/story thing, not sure what it was, but basically, Nomad died.
I expect to see a lot of people here today after Crysis 4 was announced

Do you know how much it hurts to be able to play Crysis 1 & 2 but not 3?

Let's admire the fact that Prophet used nanosuit in Crysis 2 to upload his memories and when Alcatraz presumably "died" he over took his body
One of my favourite trilogies of all time! Really miss Crysis! 😢❤️
I'm in love with the repeat button.
10 years ago ...., man time flies.
Not for awhile tho.
Oh damm just realized how old this comment is.
Crysis 4 is on it's way!

Basically Prophet aka Barnes stored his mind in the suit that was given to Alcatraz the protagonist of Crysis 2. Barnes original body died and this allow his mind aka spirit to take over Alcatraz body overtime.

Would be cool if Alcatraz tries to retake over his body, I mean he got kinda screwed over.
But Alcatraz personality and mind got damaged badly and prophet had to take over
But so did barns since it's his original suit so there's abdicate three people on one body/machine
Die Cryrise Yes thats what i said
his mind was destroyed somehow so Barnes took over basically Alcatraz is dead Barnes is controlling his body
Remember the first game was placed in 2020
who else is here after the 4th Installment of the series was announced
Same dude same
Nomad we are blind till you turn off that jammer!!!
A suit that changes the rules. Had Hargreave inherited the suit, he would not have made the hard choices in the end, too paranoid and/or power hungry
Theoretically, if the suit can change it's integrity to take on any form, then it likely has the power to influence time. By studying the chemistry of the human genome, it would have opted into a parity checks and balances system on the same level of Superman reversing the rotation of the Earth! It would have accessed Hargreave's DNA and probably would have missed the valor gene
What intrigues me the most about this conceptually, is that that through Barnes' mind, it opted to retain the human form. You would think that the nanites would respond to it's native origin and return to the Ceph for decommission. It rejected its masters and found their mechanism for survival lacking also
The human mind is exceptionally strong willed
Nanites replaced his skin with a nanostructure of the same suit tech. As the suit is adaptive in nature and unlocked in Crysis 3 it makes perfect sense.
