@lowancrowe1851 pulling the membrane off the back side of the ribs is only necessary when trying to achieve that fall off the bone consistency. When going for the style ribs showed in the video the membrane is left in place. At least thats my experience with ribs anyway and how ive always seen it done. Not everyone is looking for fall apart tender.
@@PatrickCavanaugh0420 I just finally got into ribs within the past year, and tender without fat is the way I like them, so thanks for the info if I ever try to cook them myself.
People have been cooking ribs for ages and never pulled the membrane off the back. Do you think all of the bbq restaurants pull the membrane off of all of the ribs they cook? You can score/slice thru the membrane and that works, but leaving it on doesn't cause problems.
When you’re all done cooking ‘‘em - TOAST THEM! In a toaster oven or regular oven until they get sticky and crispy so they sear on the outside and locks all the flavor in! ❤
I've been making ribs in my airfryer and still can't believe how delicious they turn out, you can't beat the classic method as its neigh impossible to get that "smokey" flavor!
I actually won a local rib cook off with this technique. Just a little different but not much. Always leave the membrane and use st Louis style ribs. Mine had to be whole racks so I wrapped them in foil with the butter but your technique by cutting them is best. I’m just an amateur but I beat a bunch of dudes whose whole life is cooking ribs. I felt pretty good about myself. Cooking is instincts and experience and living to eat something good. To many people just follow other people’s work. This is a great technique for sure.
Please tell me the name of the rib competition you won by leaving on the membrane? I'll tell you where I ran as slow as possible and won and Olympic gold medal!
I like the girlie roleplays. I don’t often do girlie stuff with my friends so this is a nice change of pace. Please keep doing it!! I’m interested in the style too.
These look so yummy, I always remove that membrane off the back of the ribs first, it is easy to remove also its abit chewy and by removing it helps the seasoning penetrate on the back of the ribs🤔👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Lo mejor de las costillas es que lo huesos son los mejores conductores de calor, además no permiten que se desjuguen, por lo que seccionarlos es totalmente un error, además no le quitan la membrana, lo que impide que cocine de forma más uniforme.
Don’t cut them up until after cooking!!! You’ll see why….. (they are JUST meaty-er in one big slab ; they thin out and shrivel up if they’re cooked pre cut) BUT YOURE SEASONINGS ARE ON POINT! -and baking them in butter is my secret too.
Only upgrade is if you pull off that connective tissue on the bottom side of the rib before cutting and grilling it. It comes off in one motion and only takes a couple seconds
Came out Absolutely FANTASTIC GONNA GO AHEAD AND GIVE IT A GOOOOO!
Cheers!🍻
He didnt pull the skin off the back of the ribs!!! Which I know the ribs turned out a bit more chewy.
How do you know..for me fall off the bone is the best...but competition isn't fall off the bone.. just saying
Did he put sugar on the meat at the end? (With the butter and sauce?)

Didn’t pull the membrane off the back of the bones.
Yes I usually remove the membrane and Yes it looks good but that was a lot of butter too
The membrane removal is optional.
I personally ALWAYS remove it, but when cooking ribs certain ways you wouldn't even notice it was there.
And so what? He didn’t make them for you

Why should it be removed? JA
@@trayc3600Most people like to remove the membrane in order to tenderize the meat. I prefer my ribs with the membrane on.
removing the membrane is based on preference
@trayc3600 like others said it is down to preference but pulling it off makes the meat more tender. That part is chewy but some like it
Oh gives it that bite without falling apart ok. We all learn something new❤
Well if you let me borrow that expensive grill I would definitely do that😊. Looks great

You can get a small smoke for cheap. Or add wood in aluminum foil to your regular yard grill to get smoke flavor. It doesn't have to be a big smoker
